Luxurious hotel room with everything we needed. Fantastic spacious bathroom too! Excellent location just a few metres walk from Platja de la Riba and the bars and restaurants of L’Escala. (Taverna de la Sal has its own restaurant too open to the public which was also of a high quality) It is just a 20 minute walk to the Ruins of Empuries and beautiful beaches nearby. Matt and Mariona were the perfect hosts and all the staff working in the hotel were friendly and helpful too. Our stay was perfect!

There was nothing that could have been improved on.

Every single thing exceeded our expectations. From the moment Mat (the brilliant NZ owner) met us outside the hotel to explain the secure car parking procedure, and at every moment in our excellent four day stay, Mat and his wonderful wife were the perfect hosts. Our room was quite spacious and modern (in a classy manner) and had a massive bed and modern large bathroom. It was such a comfortable quiet space to sleep and relax in. The room also had a small and perfect balcony, with table and chairs, that gave us a wonderful view of the beach and sea, which were just a few steps away from this marvellous boutique hotel. The breakfast was excellent, with everything freshly cooked and sooo tasty and all served in the lovely first floor breakfast room. The restaurant on the ground floor was tastefully and simply decorated and very popular. If you’re going to eat there (and we did) (and the food was superb) then it is worth making a reservation to be sure of getting a table. We’ve traveled quite extensively over a long number of years so understand what makes the difference between an ‘ok’ stay and what makes for a ‘memorable’ stay and this perfectly run luxury boutique hotel is most definitely in the ‘very memorable’ category. We will return!

Everything was totally perfect, from the welcoming of the staff to the fantastically spacious & beautifully decorated rooms with sea views, The hotel was quiet & we were lucky enough to have a slot in the hotel car parking facility. Everywhere was exceptionally clean. Also, it was great to have the opportunity to receive several English-language news stations. Having a restaurant in the hotel is a real bonus as is having use of the roof terrace. The hotel is perfectly situated close the the main beach & all the delightful shops selling a variety of goods from clothing to delicious local products. A return visit is definitely on the cards! This hotel is a gem, located off the main square of L'Escala where we had a view of the sea from our room. There is also a lovely roof terrace to enjoy. The room was restful and relaxed with a really comfortable bed and a spacious bathroom. Matthew and Mariona are excellent hosts; warm, welcoming and professional. The continental breakfast was to a high standard with a variety of healthy and delicious options on offer. In addition, there is a first rate restaurant in the hotel which offers a varied and interesting menu- not to be missed if in L'Escala! We hope to be back soon. Thank you Mariona and Matthew for looking after us so well.

There is nothing we did not like.

Great location, just around the corner from the main beachfront. All the staff were very friendly and genuine. Lovely big room and great spacious shower. It felt all very new and modern. With only 6 rooms it give it an exclusive feel. Also great breakfast and proper coffee! We're just sorry we ran out of time to try the restaurant. Next time!

Absolutely perfect accommodations across the board. Location, service, affordability, all top notch. I've stayed in at least 500 different hotels in my life and this was a top 10 experience for me. The owners, Matt and Mariana (I'm probably misspelling this;) ) were incredibly gracious and I'm very much looking forward to my next visit!

Very welcoming, caring and sincerely kind staff. Our plane was delayed and we were therefore scheduled to arrive at 04:00 AM. Matthew (one of the owners) waited for us all night so we could check in. During our stay both Mariona and Mathew continued to be helpful and just great hosts, which made our stay a real pleasure. The room and bathroom are modern and were perfectly clean. The location of the hotel is very central, in close vicinity of the beach and several restaurants and cafes. Breakfast includes coffee and freshly pressed orange juice.

We loved our stay: the stylish decor in a historic building - the salt house and its location moments from a lovely beach and lots of cafes. The owners, Catalan local and her New Zealander husband are very welcoming and laidback. Breakfasts were excellent and we had a huge enjoyable dinner in the restaurant with local anchovies and tomato bread and charcoal grilled fish and flan. We definitely plan on returning .

Suberb location. ( 30 metre walk to beach for pre breakfast swim). Beautifully maintained property. Rooms larger than expected. Good breakfast - high quality food. Finally and most importantly, wonderful welcoming hosts.
