The hotel is located in an amazing area - an elegant neighbourhood really close to Retiro park. The staff was nice and the room was clean and reasonably sized. Flat iron, ironing board, safe and kettle were available in the room.

For guests not travelling alone, the glass bathroom door did not provide the best privacy soundwise.

I had a fantastic experience at this hotel. The facilities were excellent, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Our twin room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. The air conditioning worked perfectly, which was a huge plus during the warm weather. The location couldn't be better, just a short walk from Retiro Park. Highly recommended!

I was disappointed to learn that selecting a twin room was only treated as a preference, not a guarantee. It depends on availability upon arrival. For some travellers, that uncertainty could really impact the trip. Clearer communication about this in advance would be appreciated.

We recently spent six nights at this hotel in Madrid and overall had a pleasant stay. The location is excellent — just a short walk to Retiro Park and the Prado Museum, and within comfortable walking distance to many vibrant neighborhoods in the city. The hotel itself is quiet and well-maintained, offering a very good breakfast selection with plenty of variety. The staff were consistently kind, friendly, and helpful, which added positively to our experience. The rooms were clean and comfortable, especially the bed, which ensured restful nights. However, the decor and furnishings are quite basic — nothing fancy or particularly stylish, but functional.

Our main issue was with the air-conditioning in the room. Despite the high temperatures outside (in the high 30s Celsius), the AC did not effectively cool the room. It simply blew air without lowering the temperature, more like a fan than a true air conditioner. When we reported this to reception, we were told that this is normal across Spain, but that was not our experience elsewhere in the country, where AC units worked properly. One minor issue with housekeeping: although the bathroom was cleaned and towels refreshed daily, the cleaning staff never cleaned behind the door during our entire stay.

The location is perfect, right next to the Prado and important museums, a 15 min walk up to the centre, the park is 2 min away. It was quiet at night. The staff were all super kind and helpful. The building is just beautiful, with art deco doors and windows. Lots of wonderful places to eat, out of the touristy area . I absolutely loved my stay, was sad to leave and for sure will stay there again.

Well run clean, bright and very friendly no-nonsense hotel in an excellent location (very close to El Retiro park) for the three main Madrid art museums. 5 minutes walk from both the Banco de Espana Metro station and (in the opposite direction) a lively bar and restaurant area in the streets of Barrio de las letras leading off behind Museo Thyssen. Rooms are spartan, white and clean and offer good amenities, including a single USB B plug. Bring a Euro 2 pin plug adaptor. The breakfast option with a large choice buffet is excellent value compared to local cafes. Excellent support from the multilingual front desk staff, with special thanks to David.

Great location right next to the Retiro and within walking distance to the city centre and Salamanca. Rooms were clean and spacious, very quiet too, with everything you would need for a short (or even slightly longer) stay. Great breakfast buffet in the morning. Friendly and helpful staff.

There was a slightly odd smell in the bathroom my first night, though this was gone afterwards.

The room was beautiful with amazing windows and the beds were comfy. The location was excellent; it was convenient to walk to almost anything yet it was just outside the more touristy areas so it was quiet. You’re right next to the Museo del Prado and Parque de El Retiro. The staff was super friendly and they greeted my son with a happy birthday and congratulations (the reason for our trip) and left a sweet note and treat in the room. We absolutely loved our stay and would 1000% return.

Location is very good, a quiet residential area but close to the main art galleries of Madrid. This is the third time that we have stayed in the hotel purely because of its location. All the rooms seem the same, not very stylish but comfortable enough, some are just bigger than others and some have better views. This time we were less lucky as we had a view over a small shady inner courtyard, the rooms at the front overlooking the street are the best in my view. I particularly like the breakfast, lots of choice and excellent, helpful staff who are always cheerful.

Room keys were really temperamental - a minor thing but a bit of a nuisance! Other residents had the same problem. On our departure day we couldn’t get back into our room to collect our bags and the lady on the reception desk told us they weren’t our room keys and we must have picked someone else’s keys up!? Obviously we hadn’t done that! It absolutely didn’t spoil our stay - but maybe something that needs addressing for future guests.

Great location near all city center sightseeings and big Retiro park. Very quiet place. Breakfast is really good.

VERY strange decision to put sink not in the bathroom, but near the door in the room. I understand that it is because of the size, but doesn't hygienic enough. The room isn't very clean - dust and hairs in some corners, and couple of days there were women's hair on the floor (after maid who changed the sheets, I guess). The water wasn't renewed.
