Hostal Cervantes is located ideally for those wishing to explore the central area of Madrid. From the airport via airport bus (stop at Cibeles) or by train to Atocha or Metro - all within walking distance. The room was large and spotless - the bathroom simple but all you need and also super clean. Orlando was very kind and let me leave my bag as arrived early. The entrance area inside the hostal is spacious with access to cold water, fridge and microwave for guests to use - this general area is a real plus and welcome. There is a lift to level 2. Wifi was great. Nearby plenty of choices for all types of meals, snacks, good coffee, and small corner stores. The hostal is very close to the Prado, Retiro, other art galleries, Plaza Mayor, San Jeronimo - well the list goes on - all easy walking, plus close to all public transport. Excellent value indeed.

The location is perfect, near to the city centre and restaurants. Also warm welcome from the owner when we came, was very nice. They clean everyday your room, but I think that everyday new towels are not neccessary.

It is a paper house. You hear evertyhing from your neighbours, especially when the poor guy has a cough and runny nose. The bathroom has very inetersting disposition. You need to step over the toilet when you want to have a shower.

Accommodation had everything we needed for a short stay. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was perfect for exploring the sights - Prado and central park - and older parts of the city. And we loved the crib scene in the comunal area.

Furnishing in the room was basic, but as I said above, provided everything that we needed for a few days. Exterior of the building did not reflect the warmth of the welcome.

In whole I loved the stay there, starting from staff kind welcome and helpfulness. The location is perfect, easy to find and easy to access all the attractions, shopping streets and centers are on a walking distance. Perfect wi-fi, easy check-in and possibility to leave luggage after check out. Clean wide room with all must facilities. Daily cleaning of the room (Even without asking) which is much appreciated.

The only one should be taken into account is the very small space in bath. In case of inconvenience, one can ask for room with shower (could be more comfortable) and if you are with heavy luggage and big suitcases, please take into account that this is an old beautiful building with old style small elevator.

The location was probably the best thing about this hostal. The best museums (e.g., Prado) were close by; lots of restaurants and other eateries were in the same or nearby blocks. Public transport also was nearby.

We had problems getting in because we were unable to raise someone with the buzzer. Once someone actually answered, everything was fine, although the person who answered spoke limited English and it was a good thing I had printed the reservation receipt because he was able to find our prepaid reservation. The bathroom set up in our room was a little strange as the door had to be fully open in order to turn on the light because the switch was behind the sliding door. It appeared there must have been a leak at some point because the flooring in front of the bathroom had been pretty badly damaged, more of an aesthetic problem than anything else.

Loved the location! The place was spotless, room was done every day, towels were changed daily. TV set and A/C worked well, bed and pillows were comfortable. Room had a mini-fridge and a full bathroom. Easy access.

Nothing really to worry about but perhaps the double bed was just a bit small. All-in-all very satisfied.

Very clean, new bathroom but very easy to flood whilst showering. Host ‘Orlando’ was terrific, very friendly and helpful. No air con. Close to neighbourhood Tabernas, Prado etc. Great location.

Located right in the centre of the city. The square is a km walk from here & so are all other sight seeing options. The room size is good for two people. They give you water filter so that you don’t have to buy water from outside which is a bit of a challenge in Spain. Also the guy at the reception is very kind and will help you when you need.

They give you two single beds which wasn’t ideal if you a couple visiting.

Lovely Hostal. Location is perfect, walking distance from Museo del Prado, good connections to other tourist attractions. Host and staff were polite and diligent, I was always greeted with a friendly attitude. It was clean and quiet. I enjoyed my visit and will be coming back.

Very welcoming personnel (Orlando), our room was cleaned after our first night there which I didn't expect from a 2 star hotel. While a bit shabby, the room was clean and wi-fi was very good. Amazing location with a wonderful bakery just around the corner 👌

Small abnd unconvenient elevator, but since it is 2nd floor, it was not that important.
