Modern, clean, comfortable hotel. Beds were very comfortable. Fabulous outside public areas and pool. Located in a quiet peaceful area. There was an adults only pool area on the roof. There is a daily charge of 9 euros. We just sat at downstairs pool which was relaxing. No loud music. No noise at night. Beach and promenade area 5 minutes walk away. Train station also 5 minutes walk. There are a few bars and restaurants in the immediate area. The hotel is so nice there is no need to go outside for drinks etc. Reception staff are polite, friendly and professional. If you want a quiet and relaxing holiday break Hotel Altafulla Mar is for you.

We had booked on a half board basis. The first 3 nights of our stay we had dinner in the lovely dining room with waiter service in outside dining area. Food choices were excellent and food was delicious. On our 4th and 5th night when we went for dinner we were directed to a self service buffet. Instead of entrecot steak, sea bream or pork the buffet choices were not great. A lot of pasta, pizza, chips and steak which we did not like the look of. Just disappointed as there was no comparison between dinner in dining room and self service buffet.

The food was good with a great variety. The fruit was fresh and delicious. The pool was lovely (but cold!). The most impressive thing about the friendly staff was their ability to be calm and reassuring as we were there during the electrical power cut that affected the whole county. They helped us cancel our onward booking and made it really easy for us to stay the additional two nights needed due to the power cut.

A little bit cheaper would be even better.

Good choice of breakfast, everything is so clean and perfect. This is my recommendation, being a vegetarian please if they could put the omelette separate to where they display the ham and bacon., otherwise perfect. Clean rooms, everything was perfect. Location was ace. Beach just 10 minutes walk, Mountain behind was 20 minute walk. Friendly staff. I will be booking here again. I am a solo travelle, and I loved how peaceful everything was.

Breakfast was very good, nice varied choices and good quality. Location handy for the beach and seafront cafes as well as the railway station. Staff were really good and very helpful.

We only had dinner in the hotel once as the restaurant opened too late for us (8.30pm) and the menu was more expensive than the local restaurants. Also we felt the atmosphere was better elsewhere as the Hotel restaurant was more corporate.

Everyone from the front desk to the cleaning people were very friendly with a smile for all of us, always. The room was very spacious, we asked for a king bed, and we got it (it was very comfortable). Plus 2 more comfortable beds for our kids. The hotel offers a very good breakfast, with a lot of choices. The hotel is close to the beach, in less than 5 minutes walking.

We moved one of the beds, so the kids could sleep in a double bed and some dirt and dust come out under the bed.

The hotel was absolutely amazing, reception staff, housekeeping staff, breakfast staff spot on. This is our second time at the hotel and hope to return as we love it but……

The bar staff were very slow and didn’t seem to want to serve us after 10.30. Glad it wasn’t busier or we’d never have gotten drinks. Hopefully this improves before our next visit

The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful from the check in, to the restaurants and the chambermaids. The breakfast was very good with overwhelming choice and good quality. The restaurants were also good if perhaps a bit pricey. Excellent location for the beach, the train station and the old town.

Loved the village the hotel is located in. Absolutely friendly obliging staff. Always ready to help and so very polite. Facilities were comfortable and clean. What we loved as a family was the number of things that were available for us to explore and enjoy.

We would have liked to have a tea, coffee and ironing facility in the room. However we were always able to go to the reception and get these when needed. However it would have been best to have these available in the room.

The location is fantastic, our room had a beautiful terrace with amazing views of the sea. We can't wait to get back! The restaurants on-site are excellent, specially the sushi place. The rooftop swimming pool is just dreamy.

We had to leave as we didn't have more days of holidays! It didn't look like there were enough parking places for all rooms so try to arrange in advance. However there's plenty of space outside.

Breakfast buffet had lots of choices - everything super. Spotlessly clean hotel . Soundproofing on bedroom sliding door to patio excellent. Location of hotel was ideal for local supermarket/pharmacy/train station/restaurants and beach. Altalfulla is a charming town - loved the converted fisherman homes on the beachfront. Some super beachside restaurants. IDEAL FOR COUPLES WHO WANT A QUIET BREAK.

No kettle in the room when we arrived but on asking for one a couple of days later this was sorted for us .
