I live in Sri Lanka for more than 2 years and been to dozen of hotels around the island. This on is the best so far! Room and interiors are clean and fancy. I even got the free room upgrade to the one with the bathtub. The staff was great and friendly, especially when I told that I live here :) I was here at the time of Sinhala-Tamil New Year in April. And they organized the half day outdoor party for guests with traditional food, artists, dances, games and NY snacks. They even invited me to take part in traditional rituals like parade and lighting the hearth. As for the location - some reviews are negative about it. I would say the opposite. The beach location is where Bentota river meets Indian ocean. In the morning the water from the river is refreshing and clean, especially during the storm and high tide. If you want waves and more "Ocean experience" - you can go just 200 meters to the right. Breakfast is fine and various from the frut to SL exotics. Nice coffee. Some amenities like squash (always wanted try it) were closed, but from the other side that was the first hotel in SL where there was enough people to play beach volley, even with the staff.

I got generous discount from booking.com loyalty, but overall it's one of the most expensive one in Bentota. There was a mess with 1.5 hour dinner delivery to the room, but the management appologised with free drinks. Which is fine as the hotel was almost full and busy at the moment The only thing I really didn't like is the pool. It's very large and very shallow. Because of that afternoon it is hot as hell. I preferred ocean early in the morning and still you can always refreshen in Bentota river :)

1. There was a persistent unpleasant smell in the bathroom. 2. The laundry service was somewhat expensive, with nearly $2 charged for laundering socks. 3. The Wi-Fi was not good. 4. The beach is located at the edge of a river, so you end up swimming in the river rather than the ocean. 5. The head of drivers, was quite annoying. He insisted we use his tuk-tuk and claimed that other tuk-tuk drivers would bother us because we were tourists, although no one did. On check-out day, he tried to charge us 20,000 Sri Lankan Rupees for a car rental to Galle, while the actual price was around 8,000 Sri Lankan Rupees using PickUp application.

From the moment we walked in, the tropical vibes and beachfront breeze set the perfect tone. The pool glowed beautifully in the evening, and the palm-lined surroundings made it feel like a postcard. Staff were genuinely kind, and the buffet offered a flavorful mix of local and international dishes

Clean and spacious with friendly staff.

There was no comfortable lounge bar only a large sports bar. The beach would have been fine if we were not hassled to but things from the locals.

The hotel had a great atmosphere, the staff were very friendly and always helpful. Staff would approach you on various occasions to make sure you were enjoying your stay and that everything was OK with the facilities, etc. The pool was clean and well maintained. The food was delicious, with a good variety of dishes to suit all tastes, and the presentation was impressive. Our room was comfortable, spacious, and kept very clean throughout our stay. Housekeeping was consistent and attentive. The location of the hotel was also ideal—close enough to local attractions but still peaceful and relaxing. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway. I would happily return in the future.

I recently stayed at Occidental Eden and I must say it was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. The staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, and always ready to assist with a smile. Check-in was smooth, and they even offered a welcome drink which was a nice touch. The room was clean, spacious, and beautifully designed, with all the necessary amenities. The bed was super comfortable, and the view from my window was stunning. Housekeeping was prompt and efficient every day. One of the highlights of my stay was the food – whether it was breakfast or dinner, everything was fresh, delicious, and well-presented. The hotel also had great facilities like a pool, spa, and fitness center that added to the experience. The location was perfect – close to local attractions yet peaceful enough for a relaxing stay. Overall, I highly recommend OE, Beruwala to anyone looking for comfort, quality, and excellent service. I’d definitely love to return!

Room very good and staff couldn't be more helpful, Rohan looking after the pool area was very helpful and gets a definite 10/10 for effort , the beach at Moragalla is excellent and there's an excellent beach bar and restaurant just along the beach . Breakfast buffet was good every day. Gayan and Indica our regular Tuktuk drivers both couldn't be more helpful

We liked the food. The restaurant had a great variety of dishes ranging from local cuisine to variety of international. Also included a bbq station. Tasty deserts. The pool and beach area are well designed. The staff is friendly and supportive for all our needs. it is difficult to pinpoint all the good qualities of the place ... Especially since we got a great offer as last minute on booking. We highly recommend the place for anyone who whats to have a short retreat.

Not many things to complain but i would pinpoint these: kids / teen play rooms are not maintained and do not have a real concept behind them. It is just random toys or games (table tennis, fussball table) ... But even these are not in good condition. Basically there is nothing to do .... The pool bar food is mediocre. It is a bit strange because the dinnet is excellent. And finally, the spa is definitely over priced for the service they offer.

Location near the beach. The territory is small, but very pleasant and green. Beautiful pool area. Spacious sea view room with balconies; all necessary in room amenities. Free parking. Good working WiFi. Helpful staff. The room cleaning was good thanks to Puynaku. Breakfast was okay, but nothing special.

There was fungus on the walls of the room and in the bathroom as well. In room furniture seem to be very old, to be honest room needs to be renovated. The variety of food on the breakfast could be better. No choice of coffee - no cappuccino or latte, just black coffee. The ocean near the hotel seemed to be dirty. The staff in the restaurant need some professional training, they look like newcomers which have their first working day. I can’t say that there is good infrastructure in the area - just 2-3 restaurants in walking distance.

Everything about our stay was simply perfect. The room was spotlessly clean, very comfortable, and all the facilities were excellent. The view from the property directly overlooking the beach was breathtaking and added a special touch to our trip. I would like to give a special thank you to Dinithi, who went above and beyond to help us when we had an issue with the Booking.com system. We were extremely tired after a long journey, and her immediate assistance made a big difference. Also, I had one of the best experiences ever with late checkout at this hotel — something I’ve never encountered in such a smooth and generous way before. Roshan was incredibly helpful and supportive, making sure all our requests were handled efficiently and kindly. A heartfelt thank you as well to Lasantha, who took excellent care of everything needed for my elderly parents and young children. His professionalism and warm approach truly stood out and made us feel very well looked after. Highly recommended for families and travelers looking for comfort, care, and beautiful views. Thank you for the wonderful experience

I have no Problems , I just recommend to make the pool open until 8 or 9 pm
