This hotel is very charming. The welcome at reception was lovely with a small welcome refreshment including coriander soup and a vegetable canape. The staff were very welcoming and eager to please. Our room was quirky and well-appointed with a spa bath and lovely view of the well-manicured lawn and mountains. There was the same outstanding view from the restaurant, the lawn and the outdoor spa bath.

The room needed some minor maintenance. The tap was not fixed firmly to the basin, the shower leaked and one of the bedside lamp globes flickered. The first morning we ordered breakfast from the menu and the baked goods that were served contained too many sweet pastries for my personal taste.

We had the best time at Ekho Ella! The hotel is absolutly stunning, super clean, modern and with an unreal view, i was feeling like in fairytales. From the moment we arrived, the stuff was so kind and helpful, always making sure we had everything we needed. All the time were near us 1,2 people to help us. A special shoutout to Priyahtha who was so cute with my son, he give him 4 fishes from they fountain and also for Nisal and Thankshine. The food was incredibile good, the rooms so cute and clean, all amaizing. The best hotel from. Sri Lanka! For sure will come back

Loved our stay at Hotel Ekho. My wife and I stayed two nights in Early February 2025. Room was super cute and clean. Each room has a train station theme to it. Breakfast was fantastic. Do yourself a favor, if you wake up early due to Jet lag, go outside and check out the stars before sunrise. Amazing. Sunrise is also fantastic. The hotel looks straight down the ella gap (mountains on both sides of the valley. Internet worked really well. Check in was super easy. We took an Uber from Colombo and it was about $90USD one way. Took about 4.5 hours. Uber to Weligama was $65USD and took 2.5 hours. Would stay again.

There wasn't a pool or working hot tub, but wasn't a big deal to us since we only stayed two nights. Might be a concern for a longer stay.

Beautiful hotel with lovely service! Outstanding views, nature and sunrise. Loved our room in upper floor with a view to the Ella peak etc. Details in room and hotel decor outstanding. Five stars. Beautiful garden! The athmosphere is calm and peaceful. Empoyees in restaurant, reception etc. very helpful and happy- good smalltalking and caretaking of the customers. There is some strong aromatic scents in the room and in the bathroom. It didn’ t bother us, but if you don’ t like stong scents, then you should consider…

Genuine travellers review . We would have liked to stay longer, but unfortunately, we were unable to cancel our next hotel reservation without incurring a large penalty. I want to express my deep gratitude for the generous upgrade you provided while maintaining the same rate we booked earlier. Our stay was an incredibly relaxing 24 hours amidst our journey around your beautiful country. Your hospitality made it even more memorable. Thank you again for making our experience so special. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the gentleman whom kindly help with upgrade as did hotel manager . If seeking a quiet and beautiful view to stay, I would highly recommend hotel with pictures attached from our wonderful upgrade. Hotel is away from main bars and restaurants. Ideally suited for peace and quiet and literally less than five minute walk to restaurants and bars. Thank you to the other staff room also made our stay memorable and relaxing. If time were not and issues, we would have returned to stay at Hotel before departing this Beautiful and welcoming country Namaste

Too much money, but I guess you pay for the view and staff hospitality warm welcome and location and ambience of hotel.

We had an amazing view overlooking the hotel's garden and therefore the famous Ella gap. We could see sunrise over Ella rock and Little Adam's peak. Our room was themed over the train which was a quirky but nice original touch. We received a welcome drink (fresh tea) and a snack (Sri Lankan pancake) which were delicious, as well as a musical performance. They offered free morning yoga sessions in the garden which was amazing. Breakfast was not abundant but it was fresh and tasty. I would highly recommend this hotel!

Absolutely everything was just perfect for our 3 nights, rooms clean and very well appointed, food excellent we even had an out door Bbq one night and the staff were 1st class especially Sanjeeva and his colleagues Priyantha, Krisham, Sujeewa and Thaksila nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel very welcome and looked after our every need The view and gardens with the hot tub were just a glorious space to unwind and relax There are only 12 rooms so it has that home from home feel and the view and location for exploring Ella could not have been better

The location is stunning. I can’t think of a better view from a hotel room that I have ever been fortunate to experience in all my years. This is combined with the ability to walk into the heart of Ella. Whilst the location is top level, this is matched in equal measure by the hotel room we had. Very stylish, but done with great taste and practicality. The above would be enough to recommend this hotel, but the true differentiator between this and other similarly ranked hotels is the level of service received. You are made to feel special by the staff and they are all highly professional, whilst being incredibly personable.

The service was exceptional, the good was great, the location too. But the view is outstanding, it's the best you'll find in Ella. We visited several waterfalls, nine arch bridge and little Adams peak, all within walking/tuk tuk distance of the hotel. The bathroom was also massive and the shower was great!

There was a bench near the view in the room to keep with the railway theme of the room, but it wasn't comfortable. Also the lighting wasn't that bright. But these are very minor things that didn't take away from the experience

A truly amazing experience. The best view we’ve ever had from a hotel of Ella Rock and the Ella Gap. The staff celebrated our honeymoon and made us feel incredibly welcome from the moment we walked in, it was a very special stay. The room was lovely and well taken care of with every convenience catered for. The gardens on site are fantastic and the food was good quality. They laid on dinner in the garden for us which was very romantic. We’d particularly like to thank Sanjeev and xx who were both wonderful to us. Thank you for our cake, flowers and balloons - I’m sure we’ll be back!
