What an incredible place! Staying here was such a unique experience, we absolutely loved having monkeys right on our balcony and outside our door. They were super friendly and didn’t bother us at all. In fact, the monkeys were the main reason we chose this treehouse, and it totally lived up to our expectations! The location is also excellent: just about 250 meters from the lively town center, full of restaurants and shops. The owner and staff were very helpful and eager to arrange anything for us. You can book all kinds of activities directly with them, like cooking classes, safaris, and tours to the main highlights. Keep in mind that these are a bit more expensive than booking elsewhere, but we went ahead with it and the safari to the elephant park was 100% worth it! You can also rent a scooter from them for $13 a day, which we did and definitely recommended. All communication goes through WhatsApp and it works really well: fast replies and everything quickly arranged. Breakfast (available for an extra charge) was also truly fantastic.

The room itself is spacious but very basic. No fridge, no kettle, just a bed, one set of towels and a single toilet roll. It was also very damp and humid inside, and unfortunately the bedding had an unpleasant smell. Also, be aware that the location is up a very steep hill: a 14% incline, which might be challenging for some. Lastly, the owner will try to overcharge you, so be due to double-check your bill and always ask for specification. That said, the magical experience of seeing monkeys up close from our balcony made it all worth it! And it makes the stay in Ella so much more unique!

Our stay at this wooden cabin in Ella was absolutely wonderful! The location is perfect, close to the center but still surrounded by nature, giving it a peaceful and serene vibe. The room was spotlessly clean and even more spacious and beautiful than the pictures on Booking show. The host was incredibly kind and welcoming, making sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. One of the highlights of our visit was the playful monkeys hopping around the property and even coming onto our balcony – it truly added a magical touch to our experience. This place is a little paradise nestled in the jungle, and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a tranquil escape in Ella. We can’t wait to come back!

This was such a gorgeous little cabin. It was like a tree house in the middle of the jungle. We had to cross a liilte wooden bridge (like something from a fantasy novel) to enter the room. The room was large with wooden furnishings, a huge balcony with a table and chairs, and a nicer bathroom than I expected of budget accommodation. We ordered breakfast as an add on cost and it was worth it. But be careful, the monkeys were keen for some, and we thought they might jump onto the table, but they kept their distance in the end. Beds were comfortable.

Nothing I didn't like, but you should note that there isn't a reception area and you need to message the owners on whatsapp to check in. Also, there is no air conditioning, but it's cooler in Ella so we didn't think that was an issue. Also make sure you have insect repellent.

The accom is basic (there’s no kettle or mini fridge and the shower is hand held and doesn’t quite sit in the holding cradle properly) BUT it’s such a lovely experience that none of that matters. You are close to the main town area so can get everything you need. There is a steep climb to the accom but once you’ve been to Ella you’ll realise there is a sleep climb to pretty much every accomodation. Again. It’s thoroughly worth it. Sleeping in the forest the sounds of the night are soothing. Sitting on the verandah is lovely. Wifi works well. The staff are absolutely fabulous. Ashin was friendly and seemingly nothing was too much trouble. He cooked a lovely homemade meal, organised a scooter for us, and had plenty of answers to our questions. This place is great value for money if you’re looking for a different experience.

The property is beautiful and has the most amazing balcony. The staff was so attentive and always answering our requests very quickly and kindly. The food was very tasty too, all vegetarian. We also did a sunrise hike with them, which was a really nice experience.

The monkeys were really insisting on coming on our balcony, even when the blinds were closed. At times we had 5 at once, jumping around and doing their business there. One monkey even raided our room while we were away. In some moments we didn’t feel very comfortable or relaxed because of this.

We stayed for 2 nights in a very welcoming place, just 1 km walking distance from the city center. Perfect location to explore the area. The staff was extremely helpful, kind, and always smiling. Being in the heart of nature, you might come across some animals, but this is exactly what adds to the charm of the place. Overall, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for peace, great food, and genuine hospitality. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended!

We loved our room and the view it offered. It was really a little jungle escape not far from the centre. The staff were really helpful and friendly. They made sure they were always reachable and we got an answer always within minutes. Ashen was really friendly and helpful and attented to our every need. The nature vibe of the room and bathroom we liked very much.

If you want to walk to the lodge, the way to get there is a bit steep. We didn't really mind, but if you are not up for a bit of a leg workout, we recommend a tuktuk or to rent a scooter

Basically living in a treehouse with a view of the jungle. Location set in the middle of the trees, very private and you feel immersed in nature. Everything was thoughtfully designed and very comfortable, and very clean. Despite being in the forest, there was a surprising lack of mosquitoes or wildlife, and I passed a very comfortable night, with breakfast on the balcony. The hotel also arranged a massage with their partner at Hela Osu down the road which was paid as part of the room fee.

Breakfast is not included in the room rate, fyi. The facilities are v comfortable but missing a hairdryer, and at night, the room lighting is quite dark.

This was our favorite stay of the entire trip! Not only because of the beautiful cabin we stayed in, but especially thanks to the two friends working there, who made our time truly special. We went on several hikes, but the most memorable one was with one of the staff members. We reached the viewpoint first, chatting all the way, and shared the stunning views together. A magical moment, great company, and beautiful nature. Can’t recommend it enough!

It was the coziest property! Amazing falling asleep to the rain and having breakfast with the monkeys. The accommodation is basic but gorgeous. The staff are amazing with fantastic communication and organised everything for us. We did the cooking class and tea factory tour with them and they were amazing! The best thing was their kitten who was a nice reminder of our pets at home. Can’t wait to come back and visit again!
