Incredible views from the balcony, making the room a lovely place to relax. Rooms were very spacious and clean with a big bathroom. The staff were very helpful and had lots of tips and advice re local attractions and transport. Brilliant place to stay in Ella on a budget. Lots of steps down to the room and on a very steep hill but perfectly fine if you are fit. Fridge in the room is a bonus.

No complaints really. The shower didn't have much hot water but this is common for Sri Lanka.

We had an amazing stay at viewfront. It was one of our cheapest hotels at our trip in sri lanka, so we didnt expect a lot, but it was very good. The room was big, the view amazing, there was a fridge and a mosquito net. On sunny days the warm water was working too. Friendly people, helped us with our bags at the stairs and helped us rent a scooter. Loved the location too. The main street of Ella is very busy and touristic. The was a bit from the mainstreet (only 5 min walk though!) With some very nice restaurants around the corner (much better than at the mainstreet).

The stairs... haha To get to the hotel, its a very steep street up and down. Then entering by stairs and even more stairs on the sight to get to our room. We are young healthy people and didnt expect it to bother us, but going back and forth to our room took a while.

The room was comfortable, nice views of the valley and surrounding hills. The path down to my room is forest. I saw grey hornbills and even a porcupine!

Because of the geography of the town, a lot of hotels are going to be up a steep road. However, at this one, after walking up the steep slope, you then walk down a shorter and steeper slope, then down many steps to get to your room, so you may not be as high up as some other hotels. I was in one of the lower rooms, which is 105 steps down from the road. It wasn't a big issue for me, but if you have fitness issues it's worth bearing in mind. But then Ella is probably not the best destination for you anyway! The main road was right below my room (see photo), and the trucks can be loud at night.

The room is really clean and spacious, and there is a parking slot. The parking slot is dedicated to the hotel and is secure, so you can park bikes, cars, or any vehicle there. However, to get from the parking area to the rooms, you have to climb a lot of steps and stairs. That said, if you’re coming to Ella for a hiking experience, this can feel like a little sneak peek of what’s to come. We actually came to enjoy that kind of experience, so we really appreciated the stairs and everything. However, if you have difficulty climbing stairs or are uncomfortable with steps, you might want to think about this before booking. But if you’re into that kind of adventure, you’ll absolutely love this place! The room also offers an amazing view. It’s spacious, and there’s a glass wall that lets you enjoy the breathtaking scenery even from inside. You can see an incredible view of Ella Rock, the winding roads of Ella, and so much more. It’s truly beautiful and an amazing place to stay!

I had the opportunity to spend time at this hotel and I am very impressed. The view from the window to the mountains was really amazing and made every morning start great. Breakfast was exceptional - abundant, fresh and varied, with something for everyone. The staff was very friendly and helpful, which made the stay even more pleasant. However, it is worth noting that getting to the hotel can be problematic for people with disabilities, as there are many stairs. Nevertheless, I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for beautiful views and a great atmosphere.

The staff were so kind and helpful with arranging tuktuk and luggage. We loved waking up to the views- absolutely amazing. Very clean, even though that it is amongst the trees but absolutely spotless. They provided tea and water too.

Getting to the actual room was slightly tricky with heavy luggage, BUT we had help from Thusian who kindly took the suitcases down for us. Therefore did not end up being a problem for us. The view from the room made it all worth it.

This was the best apartment during our stay in Sri Lanka. It has incredible view from the windows, you can even see the big waterfall when you wake up 🥰 it’s also very close to the Main Street but it’s calm and silent in the night. It also have a big balcony and bathroom, kettle and fridge inside! Hosts are exceptionally kind and offer very good breakfast for little money. It also have good WiFi, okay for remote work ;)

Amazing views from all 3 rooms we booked. Very helpful and friendly host who helped us boo train tickets and taxis. Amazing breakfast at a very reasonable price (the best breakfast we’d had in Sri Lanka). Short walk into Ella town-great location walking distance to restaurants.

Lots of steps (as described in property description). Owner was very helpful carrying suitcases etc to help with this.

David accepted my booking last minute, let me check in straight away. Carried my very heavy bag down about 100 steps to my room (and back up when I left), and helped me organise transport very efficiently on the morning I left. The dog at the property slept outside my room every night as if she was protecting me. So sweet. I loved having a private balcony that I spent a lot of time on, and there was hot water in the large shower. Comfy bed. Beautiful view of the mountains (although a fair amount of noise from the traffic on the mountain road). It was also in a great location, really close to the centre of Ella.

It was a bit dusty, some bubbling paint on the walls so the room needed the balcony door open all the time for ventilation, and there were quite a lot of ants in the bathroom (but this is very hard to control). Not an expensive place though so you get what you pay for. Not a place to meet other people.

I recently stayed at Viewfront Ella for two days and had a wonderful experience. The room was clean, spacious, and well-equipped with all the necessary amenities.
