Lovely spacious building and spotlessly clean. Staff very friendly and obliging. Beds were very comfortable and the room well-equipped. The rooftop swimming pool was a real highlight and perfect for a sunrise swim.

It was a bit of a hoof up the hill to the hotel and scary in a tuk-tuk! Breakfast was ok but not great. The hotel is tucked away up a hill and is itself very quiet but unfortunately there was a lot of noise from the surrounding area. Very loud music from a nearby venue played until 1am or so and there was also some kind of chant or prayer playing through a loudspeaker on repeat all night from about 10pm to 10am that was very loud in our room. Not the hotel's fault at all and could have been a one-off but if we were to visit Ella again we would try to stay in a much quieter area.

The views were incredible and look down over Ella and the valley. One of the staff recommended watching the sunset from the pool and it was one of the most dramatic I have seen - highly recommend. All the staff were very helpful, professional and friendly throughout - both Ramesh and Gayan made our stay extra special and really went out of their way to help up. The rooms were lovely and again had a phenomenal view. Clean, tidy, modern and excellent aircon throughout. A good selection of local and western food available from the restaurant, and at reasonable prices. All around, a very pleasant stay and we will look forward to visiting again.

There were a lot of renovation works happening in the hotel during our stay and this meant occasional power outages and building noise during the day. Not an issue if you are out exploring, but it did make a relaxation day more challenging. The hotel is situated at the top of a very steep hill that bigger vehicles will not get up and tuktuks really struggle and are reluctant (we found one that would do it). However the hotel run a free shuttle bus between 0800-1800 which we used multiple times a day and was incredibly useful. If you want to come back after 1800 it’s a short but very steep walk or you may be able to find a tuktuk willing to give it a go. Despite this the views from the hotel really are incredible, and in our opinion, worth it.

Morning Dew is one of my top hotels i stayed at during my visit to Sri Lanka. Made even more exceptional by the staff at this hotel especially Sameir who always seems to be there, on hand to help and assist as best he can. The rest of the team, all consisting of men, do a very good job in ensuring this hotel is kept super clean and tidy for guests at all time. I can’t fault them at all. The rooms are fantastic and modern. High ceilings and crisp white fresh bed linen. The view from our room and the shower was a delight. We had to catch a train to Kandy early and they even arranged a shuttle bus and packed lunch for us :) 10/10 for this place. Thank you to Sameir and the team. Amy & Sam

No normal road to the hotel, only possible to reach the property with hotel transfer or jeep.

amazing rooftop area - the pool has the most gorgeous 360 view of the area. It is also very central and the free shuttle to the train station and town is incredibly helpful as the road to it is quite steep. Also adored the welcome drink and snacks

We stayed at the hotel four nights, but would have loved to stayed longer. We absolutely loved the hotel and the sweet and caring staff. Our room was really nice and spacious with a very comfy bed, and the shower were really great and clean. We enjoyed some of our time on the roof top and in the pool - both places perfect for relaxing and enjoy the breathtaking view (Ella gap). The hotel has a perfect loaction in Ella, and is very close to everything. The breakfast was sooo good, and we had two lovely dinners at the restaurant. Especially Palitha, Gayan and Ramesh made our stay very pleasant and made sure that we didn’t need anything. They were also very helpful with advices for our trips. We would have loved to stay longer, and we will definitely come back.

There is nothing bad to say about the hotel!

Absolutely everything! From the stunning hotel and views, convenient location, exceptional service, beautiful rooms and food, we loved this hotel. We only stayed for 2 nights on our honeymoon and the staff surprised us with balloons and ‘happy honeymoon’ made with flowers on our bed. It was so sweet! The manager and staff were so helpful the whole stay and also organised a driver and guide for the Ella rock hike. We ended up staying in contact with our driver and he literally helped us with transport throughout our travels in Sri Lanka! His name is Ishawara (ask the hotel for his details) he gave us reliable drivers at a really good cost. So glad we chose to stay here, we will definitely visit again!

Only downfall was really limited English channels on the TV! That’s it.

A full 360 degree view from the top floor was incredible! our bedroom was spacious and cool which was needed after a steep walk up to the hotel from Ella. we want to say a big thank you to everyone who made our stay so special, all of the staff were extremely efficient and helpful, I couldn’t fault their services. also a big thank you to Cyril who collected and dropped us off after our stay.

the only downside to the property is the very steep walk back up to the hotel from the town, some tuktuk drivers won’t take you but there are plenty that will... it’s all part of the journey, without the hill you wouldn’t have the amazing views :-)

quadruple room had amazing view, deluxe superior double room had nice view, but not as beautiful. The location is great, rooms are very clean, good breakfast and helpful staff.

we booked the hotel for view,pool and location. as i written above- only one of the rooms had the expected view. as for the pool- it is not heated therefor we couldn't use in the afternoon. we enjoyed sitting on the roof but were surprised to be charged for simple black tea which is complementary in the room. (when we ordered we thought we would get the traditional welcome tea). all in all- the hotel is very pleasant, clean and located well- but too pricy in our opinion.

This hotel has the best view point than any other hotel in all of Ella. I don’t know how they did it but they built a hotel and pool in the sky with the best view of the Ella gap. Seemed even better than Little Adam’s peak viewpoint. Plus a fantastic roof top bar to have your cocktails at sunset. Also it was so quiet and away from all the noise of the main Ella strip. Plus very good value for money with lovely breakfast and believe it or not proper filter coffee available for free. Delicious. Delicious, comfortable beds and rooms with balcony also with same jaw-dropping views. I could not recommend this place enough. We know other people who stayed in really noisy, cheap places in Ella with no view of the mountains. The thing is - as you can tell - I love a hotel with a good view - and this was the best view of any hotel we stayed in - in our trip around Sri Lanka but that’s because they built the hotel in the sky.
