Luxurious hotel, excellent location, and wonderful staff. The views from the very clean room were stunning. Pool area is the main relaxing area and is very well maintained and the staff couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome and spoiled.

If you’re looking for 5 star luxury, Dormero at Hikkaduwa won’t let you down. The place has a beautiful, relaxed, laid back ambience. The rooms are spacious and spotless. It feels incredibly safe with friendly security on the grounds 24/7 and you’re always greeted by them with a smile. There are no shortage of gorgeous staff to cater for your every need. Breakfast is beautiful and in abundance. Attention to detail is shown throughout the entire hotel and the pool is pure bliss. I have to make a special mention of Franci, the hotel manager who particularly made our stay at Dormero very memorable. Franci we miss you, we miss being spoilt by all of you and we WILL be back. Thank you so much for the perfect holiday.

We had an exceptional experience at Dormero Hotel, and I cannot speak highly enough of the service, comfort, and attention to detail throughout our stay. What truly made the experience stand out, however, was the incredible hospitality and professionalism of Franzie, the hotel manager. Franzie and her team went above and beyond to ensure every guest felt welcomed and looked after. The rooms were immaculate, the amenities thoughtfully curated, and the entire staff was consistently attentive and kind. I highly recommend Dormero Hotel to anyone visiting the area.

I cannot rate this hotel high enough. I had seen previous reviews so knew it would be good, but we were not expecting anything like what we experienced at the Dormero Hotel. We were greeted on our arrival by Franzi whose genuine smile and kindness shone out. Franzi seemed to manage the hotel in a unique way that was totally professional yet with a feeling that you were the only quests there. We were delighted to be upgraded and our room blew me away. It was totally luxurious and had everything we needed. Nothing was too much for the staff and we were met every day by smiling faces. Even the security guys were lovely and friendly. The breakfasts were delicious and the presentation had to be seen to be believed. We also ate in the restaurant a few times and the food was amazing. The pool area was lovely. Although we had a private garden area we did use the pool and it was peaceful and relaxing and plenty of sunbeds. The veiw of the surfers kept us entertained for hours and there was no shortage of beach bars and restaurants just outside the door. All in all, a fabulous stay in a hotel I will never forget, made even better by Franzi and the staff. Not forgetting Kiki the dog who I fell in love with 😍

It was simply amazing from the beginning to the end! An experience like no other 😃. My friend and I were upgraded and had wonderful sea views and enjoyed watching the surfers. All staff were professional and friendly and went out of their way to provide the best experience ever! We fell in love with the adorable Kiki the local hotel dog. Franzi was incredible and added a personal touch to your stay and always had a smile on her face. I have stayed in many hotels over my years of traveling and this hotel is simply THE BEST!

Many thanks to Franziska and Kiki for making us feel like home thousands of miles away. Kindness, smiles, responsiveness and attentiveness of these girls will not leave anyone indifferent :) We would also like to mention the incredible staff of the hotel - you will always be treated with attention and incredibly delicious food :) Very sad to leave this corner of paradise, we will miss you very much! Everything was fabulous🤩

From the moment we arrived, the team went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. The hotel is immaculate, offering all the amenities you could hope for—and more. The breakfast was an easy 10/10, with exceptional service to match. We visited for our honeymoon, and the staff made every effort to ensure it was extra special. Waking up to the sight of surfers in the sea each morning was a personal highlight, adding to the hotel’s already breathtaking setting. If you fancy a change of scenery, a short one-minute stroll along the beach brings you to a selection of great bars and restaurants, perfect for lunch or dinner. No matter how many nights you book, it won’t feel like enough. I’ve never given a perfect 10 in a review before, but this hotel truly deserves it. I couldn’t recommend it more!

Franziska was very helpful before and during our stay and we were grateful for the amazing large room which we were given for our 3 night stay. The property is well located in front of the main surfing area with modern facilities. It’s a small hotel with very open architecture and very high build quality. Security was good with a 24/7 team. It was a short walk to beachside restaurants or diving operators. The pool was a good size and ideal for a pre breakfast / pre sea swim.

We found the breakfast arrangements a little restrictive for a hotel in this price category, they need to rewrite the menu to make it more flexible and better leverage local produce. (And as vegetarians we didn’t need bacon and sausage with everything.) On the other hand, when asked, the staff were pleased to go ‘off piste’ and give us what we actually wanted eg 2 eggs and a king coconut!

Our stay at Dormero Hikkaduwa was nothing short of magical, and we owe a great deal of that to the incredible Franziska. From the moment we arrived, she went above and beyond to ensure that every detail of our stay was perfect. The warm welcome, personalized touches, and constant care made us feel truly special. The hotel itself is top notch. Our room had breathtaking views, was impeccably clean, and was beautifully decorated. So much so that we spent most of our time in Hikkaduwa relaxing in the room! Every corner of the hotel exudes luxury and comfort. We enjoyed every meal, every relaxing moment, and every interaction with the staff. Franziska's attention to detail and genuine warmth set the tone for an unforgettable experience. She made us feel like the most important guests in the hotel. Her thoughtful gestures, such as the surprise champagne and the romantic room setup, added a layer of enchantment to our stay.

Cocktails could be improved. Breakfast service was also slightly slow if there were more than a handful of tables.
