Great location. About 10-15 min from the highway and right on the beachfront. The swimming pool was sometimes crowded, but still enjoyable. The staff were great, especially Mr. Gerard. We are vegetarians and the dinner menu had limited veg items, especially for Indian palette. Mr Gerard went out of the way and prepared additional dishes for us (veg pulao) and our kids (pasta). We tried most of the veg items on the buffet and it was great. Everyone was very friendly and hospitable. The beach was clean and beautiful and my kids had a really nice time.

I had booked for 2 adults plus 2 kids. Booking.com had showed me that the room will have 2 beds. But in reality it only had one queen bed. So we had to get an extra bed and were charged around $20. Perhaps better coordination needed between hotel and booking.com

I had a fantastic experience during my stay at Citrus Hikkaduwa. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and ideally located right by the beach — perfect for a relaxing getaway. I’d especially like to mention Danushka, who was incredibly helpful throughout my stay. I believe he works in the front office (possibly as an advisor or in a similar role). Regardless of his official title, his service was outstanding — always welcoming, professional, and ready to assist with anything I needed. Thanks to the entire Citrus Hikkaduwa team for making my stay so pleasant. I’ll definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area!

Most of the things were good but staff need to be much aware about there duties. Place was fantastic.

The WiFi password which they gave to me was not working.

We were a family group of 26, four generations ages ranging from 85 to 1. The restaurant was excellent. We had an all inclusive package. The chef came out and spoke with the group. He made off the menu dishes for our one year old child. All the staff were friendly and approachable and ensured the group had an enjoyable stay. The beach was clean and the hotel is located in front of a coral reef. The kids loved wading into the shallow water and seeing the fish and crabs. They enjoyed flying kites, playing on the swings and splashing in the swimming pool.

The elderly members of the group would have appreciated having a hand shower in the bathroom.

I booked a stay at Citrus Hikkaduwa for my friend Sujatha, who visited in February, and she had a wonderful experience. A great deal through booking.com - was excellent value for money and exceeded expectations. After reading the reviews we were surprised that it had received such a low rating. The staff were excellent, restaurant was reasonable price. Good choice at breakfast. It is not a new hotel but they are working on maintenance. Any problems they fixed immediately. Lovely beachfront pool. Although not able to swim directly in front it is only a short walk along beach to swim. Easy walk to turtle beach.

Citrus Hikka is my peaceful escape from the noise of everyday life. The resort facing beach offers a calming atmosphere, with courteous and well-mannered staff who always make me feel welcome. Clean bathrooms with nice showers, The food, though limited in variety, is consistently splendid. One of the true highlights is the spa, easily one of the best I’ve experienced and truly deserving of praise. This is my third visit, and I’m very likely to be returning again.

The staff was super friendly and professional. The location is great, direct access to the beach and the ambience is fantastic. One of the best places to have a beer at the beach. There are many fish in the reef right in front of the hotel you can witness in the morning without even snorkeling. I would love to come back again.

Less choice of seafood, but there are many great restaurants nearby which you can access through the beach. The pool is great but it's better if there are some corners shaded by trees to spend more time in the day time with a beer without strong sun rays. The pool is closing at 7pm and it's better if it can be open at least up to 10 pm and host some pool parties or some fun stuff.

The breakfast and dinner buffet should have more varieties to choose from. And extra staff during the dinner and breakfast time could have made the experience even better. Because there were lack of waiters during the meal times which made us wait for a long time.

Loved the view from the balcony and the scenery from the beach. The rooms were really clean and tidy and we loved spending quality time in the pool. We loved the entertainment at night.( the live show was perfect for the night stay) . For dinner we ate from the restaurant and the food was delicious. The breakfast buffet was amazing and we loved the two sides of Srilankan and English breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay in the Citrus Hotel and we will definitely come back.
