The hotel is wonderful with its location (5 minutes from the turtle beach), the infinity pool and the breakfast. The rooms, however, are shabby and not well maintained. I've booked deluxe room with sea view and received a room without a balcony, quite dark and depressing, two windows that looked towards a common terrace where everybody had to go through to reach their rooms - hence it was loud and uncomfortable. The AC was situated at the most unfortunate located - directly opposite the bed, which made it impossible to use while we were sleeping or laying on the bed. And this room was so small and dark that the bed was the only place where we could be while in it. We shared our disappointment with the staff and they provided free upgrade to one of the studios that had a semi-private (shared with one other studio) terrace and a wonderful sea view. This room spacious, the AC was placed on the side and was therefore quite useful, I did my yoga on the terrace and enjoyed it very much. So, the high score I am giving is really for the studio and the accommodating staff. The infinity pool is really beautiful, there are a few sun beds, you can't use the sea in front of the hotel, but the turtle beach is 5 minutes by foot, so this was not a problem.

Stunning boutique hotel that used to be a manor house. Beautiful wooden staircase and floors and our suite had a high wooden ceiling. It was an absolute pleasure staying here, huge room, closed shower, TV, lots of storage space, dressing table and sitting areas with sun loungers on the huge balcony overlooking the pool and sea. People are so lovely and smiley and always rushing to assist you all the time. The pool area is gorgeous, so calm with tall palm trees and directly on the beach. The location was right next to turtle beach, a short walk to the corals for snorkeling and all the restaurants, shops and bars around. Breakfast was delicious and so much of it with coffee, pancakes, eggs, toast, fresh fruit juice and fruit salad. It was our honeymoon and the lovely Buddhika had placed petals with word love and heart pillows on our bed and it was so thoughtful and lovely. It has been an absolute pleasure staying here and I wish we could stay more. A definite 10/10 and I truly recommend you all staying here!

Absolutely nothing

The property is beautiful and spacious with lots of coconut trees that provide perfect shade on a hot day. We mostly hung out by the pool on the lounge chairs and hammock as it was very relaxing. The hotel restaurant has a great variety of options so we found ourselves ordering lunch and snacks when lounging near the pool. The hotel staff are wonderful and kind- it made our stay even more pleasant. The location is prime- views of the beach and sunset, as well as being close to Turtle Beach and other restaurants and hotels. The room was spacious and clean. Good value for money

The beds were not overly comfortable but we managed. The hotel itself is a little out-dated but didnt impact our stay

Great location - turtle beach only 100m away and the bay there doesn't have big waves so perfect for a swim (with the turtles). Always lovely to have the home cooked breakfast on the terrace by the pool overlooking the beach/sea. Buddhika made sure our room was clean. Very friendly and helpful staff, including the office manager who gave us the information we needed to plan our activities. Plenty of nice places to eat nearby - just go out the garden gate, turn left and walk along the beach until you find one you like. And hire body boards if you're not an expert surfer!

A few bugs spotted in the bathroom

From the entrance you can see the hallway, swimming overlooking the beautiful beach of Hikkaduwa. It's not very big but has all the necessary amenities that a tranquil resort requires. Sitting at the swimming pool, watching the sea wave, or swinging in the hammocks, enjoying the breeze, one can easily pass hours in this serene environment. The rooms are spacious & has all modern amenities. Wooden furniture adds a pretty chic vibe to the rooms..the corridors have plenty of sitting areas to entertain guests. The sitting arrangement on the beach & also beside the pool are recommendable. Sanju with a smiling face served us well throughout our stay, the entrance of the resort has an amazing colonial vibe alongside lots of flowers. Situating on the main road, this place can be a perfect getaway for the people who seek tranquillity & poshness at an affordable rate.

There could be intercoms in the rooms.

The property is beautiful! Its pool is stunning & at the perfect temperature. The room was very tasteful, clean & came with a ceiling fan, AC, a refrigerator & hair dryer. Everyone was looking out for me 24/7 to make my stay most comfortable. Especially Nippun took it upon himself to be available for any of my needs around the clock. He also took me feeding the reef sharks & turtles & made sure I didn’t miss a sunset. He made my stay at the Hikka Sandy Pearl a very special one. I really enjoyed this hotel & the very professional & kindest staff.

Within a short walk, to the right and left from the hotel, there are good beaches for swimming. You can't really swim in the waters right in front of the hotel as it is very rocky. But that's not a problem at all. Very helpful and kind staff members. Ready to help you when needed. Breakfast was ok and pretty much the same every day, what you could change was how you like your 2 eggs to be made. After our 10 day stay we felt like leaving our house and friends and not a hotel. This hotel has more of a private villa vibe than a hotel. It was nice. Good for families with kids, too. It's a decent 3star hotel. Nothing fancy and therefore affordable but not cheap as well.

The bar was missing, but right next to this hotel is neighbor hotel with a bar that's open till very late. So all good.

Offers good services. The quality-price ratio is fair. We had good conditions, the room was clean and the stuff was friendly. Buddhika’s warmth added charm. The restaurant offered tasty food. The pool and private beach are cleaned every morning. The resort’s location is excellent, right on the beach and in the center of Hikkaduwa. Nearby there are: Turtle beach, supermarkets, pharmacy, ATMs, restaurants, bars, tour desk, etc.

Unfortunatelly the shore has some stones but, the private beach and the pool compensate this.

Location and care of the staff. I had a small medical event which required a surgeons appointment. The effort, care and follow-up by the staff and more importantly the manager Dinusha was superb. Turtle swimming was 3 mins walk . Swimming Pool great. Car direct to airport 17000 lkr. Would recommend rather than re transmitting Colombo
