The location was excellent, right on the beach. The room was clean and spacious. The breakfast was good. The staff is very attentive, helpful, courteous, and friendly.

The double doors to the balcony were severely warped such that it could not be closed and locked. This is a security issue and needs immediate attention,

Amazing service and the best location! The staff is always welcoming you and checking in if you have everything you need! The lightning in the room was cozy.

The bathroom was not clean, the madrass was hard and the mosquito net was dirty. But no moscuitos, so I guess it worked🤩

I loved our room. The twin room was spacious, had tables and racks to organise and hang our things. We had our own front terrace area that looked onto the ocean. Heritage style building which I'm a sucker for even if it's a little run down. Tucked away in the main street next to shops and eateries. We were able to use the kitchen to store foods in the fridge and use basic utensils. Staff were kind and helpful with any requests or information needed.

All was great. The only thing to mention in any and all places I stay - putting a Kettle and 2 cups in a room makes such a difference ! add coffee and tea - perfect !

It was very well located with restaurants outside and the beach in the backyard. The room was also very comfortable. Also have to mention the staff, they were more than helpful and always available.

They could maybe give a little more attention to the details. Like keeping a waste bin in the bathroom and also the room could be cleaned a bit more properly due to the beach sand that would always remain.

Great friendly staff Isuru & the other guy was really the best, They did their best. A place with absolute freedom with a nice environment.

There wasnt a blanket to cover while sleeping (apart from the sheet of the bed ) , You cant drink the water that is coming out from the taps in the room you've to pay extra for the water bottles, Every room isnt equipped with balconies even tho we asked for a room with balcony we got a room in the basement . Sanitary : the soap was so tinny for two people.

Perfect location to swim with the turtles. The staff were attentive and welcomed me with a drink. The heritage building with tall wooden ceilings and doors and stone floor made an interesting stay and was comfortable and clean with good hot shower. Would have stayed longer.

No sound proofing from the storm, in particular the roof. The door handle lock needs to be fixed and the wall lamp. Bedside tables would be helpful. Restaurant only available to staff.

This is our second time booking with the Curry Bowl and Turtle Rest and we absolutely love it. We love the location and the beauty of this place and more importantly we love the boys that work there. They're so kind, respectful and a complete joy to be around. We will definitely be back again and again. This place is a great value and an absolute gem in Hikkaduwa.

The person who takes care of the place was an amazing person. I have never met such an honest person. He always tried to help us not to get caught by scammers. He was such a helpful nice guy. He doesn't even accept some money we gifted him. He refused and said I'm just doing my job. We've never met such a person. That means he was helping us for real. I cannot remember his name unfortunately. He's the short guy ( 30 years old) who's married and have two kids. I'm writing this specially to let know the house owner know that guy is a gem. Now about the house. Old structured house located just by the sea. But the beach front part is not safe to use for swimming. Just Infront of the hotel there's a really good restaurant call moonlight. Incredible prices too. We had all our meals there during the stay. There are many shops around the property where you can buy clothing, bags etc.several Atm machines were very close. Overall a good stay.

My wife just came to Sri Lanka after almost 3 years for short vacation and she wanted stay at a place where she can feel tropical beach vibe.so I have choose curry bowl hotel and I would love to say it full filled all of her expectations.it located right next to beach and hikka main beach just few minutes away.the hotel located quite and calm area. staff ware very friendly and specially “ISURU” was very helpful. It’s totally worth for the money and I can totally recommend to fellow travelers.hope to visit again.

The room was bit old and specially bathrooms seemed need some renovations. They also have fewer newly builded rooms.unfortunately we had to stay in old room.but our friends were lucky enough to stay at new room which have direct access to beach.

This hotel is situated in front of the most spotted beach in Hikkaduwa,just next to the Hikka Trans Hotel. there you can watch turtles in the clear blue water & the coral sands everywhere. This hotel maintains its traditional structure as it is with the improvements of modens facilities for a reasonable rate. Hospitality of the staff was amazing, specialty Mr.Isuru delever an admirable service to the visitors. If you wish to stay at Hikkaduwa dont bother to select this hotel,everything is perfect & value for the money u spend. For foods u can visit hotel "Moon Light" just in front of the hotel, run by a foreigner - delicious food for reasonable price. This was our second time in this hotel & we'll be there in our next trip as well . And they had upgraded facilities in the rooms than the previous time.
