Our room was great and nicely private. The swimming pool was spectacular. The food was very good but quite expensive. Our butler Pradeep was fantastic. He was efficient, helpful, very friendly and good fun. He was basically excellent.

The toilet seat was lose, the bathroom floor was slippery and unsafe. The room lacked a bar fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. It was expensive and being out of Kandy quite a long way it was a real problem with Uber and Pick Me being very unreliable. Pradeep and the pool were the hilights.

My partner and I spent two delightful nights at The Kandy House in Kandy, Sri Lanka, where the blend of beautifully maintained colonial architecture and luxurious grounds immediately caught our attention. Pradeep's attentive service stood out, ensuring our stay was comfortable and memorable. The exceptional Sri Lankan cuisine offered an authentic taste of the local culture, while our room provided a serene, elegantly appointed. I highly recommend The Kandy House to anyone seeking a blend of luxury, culture, and personalized service.

Staff were excellent - Prasan our butler was exceptional and really helped make the stay memorable. The swimming pool was amazing - set nicely in a landscape of lush vegetation.

The evening meal was quite disappointing. It was unreasonably expensive and the quality of the food in no way justified the cost. The starter and the dessert were bought in and fairly bland on both occasions we ate there.

Absolutely amazing place. So special — beautiful, thoughtful design, wonderful location, perfectly maintained. You’ll never want to leave. Service was amazing, made us feel so looked after and so at ease. It was our honeymoon and they brought us cava by the pool with canapés, organised breakfast on the balcony and did absolutely everything they could to make it special for us. Our favourite hotel in Sri Lanka. Has so much charm and character and warmth. The food is amazing. It’s not far from Kandy.

This is truly a beautiful property, the house itself, is like walking into a bygone era . It is sumptuously decorated. We had the Royal Peacock suite, which was stunning. The house is set in beautiful lush gardens with an attractive infinity pool, overlooking paddy fields. We were assigned two butlers who were very attentive and as I have food allergies the chef made me some truly delicious meals.

Great quiet location. The hotel is charming and well maintained. Swimming pool overlook in jungle and rice fields is stunning.

Limited choice of food, average dinner. Yoga class did not happen. Room on the small side with no balcony and no views, noise from kitchen ie: really bad room in a good hotel. Expensive and boring in comparison to other good Sri Lankan hotels

Arriving at The Kandy House is like arriving in another world from the outside hustle and bustle. A Beautiful house full of history and charm and the rooms are cozy and decorated with taste. The food at dinner and breakfast are both excellent , and the best curry we had during our trip. But the best part of the stay is our encounter with the hotel staff, each team member we spoke to is super friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back next time we are in Kandy.

Adigar’s Manor is a stunning hotel set on beautiful grounds. The location is very peaceful but also has very easy access to Kandy. The food was delicious and generous. Pradeep especially looked after us very well during our stay. We are very grateful and really recommend the hotel.

The Kandy House - lovely place, we only spent one night, but we loved it. Slightly overpriced as it’s more of a boutique residence hotel which gives a homely feel, rather than a luxury 5 star. The pool was great and service was very good also compared to other places where we’ve been in Sri Lanka. Food was tasty also and had good variety. Only downside they don’t have driver accommodation, only outside of the hotel and it’s extra cost

The Kandy House was our favourite hotel in Sri Lanka aesthetically and for service and in our opinion should be the model for for all manor houses in Sri Lanka in terms of interiors, grounds and operations. The house has been kept in impeccable condition, preserving the beautiful heritage while flawlessly balancing more modern Sri Lankan artists and textiles. We were only in Kandy briefly, and the hotel manager who personally greeted us on arrival, organized a quick tuk tuk tour of the highlights, a beautiful meal, packed lunches for the train journey the next day while also making sure we had time to enjoy the beautiful pool and grounds. The manager was exceptional at his job. Everything ran like clockwork.The staff were attentive, courteous and discreet. The food was amazing. We arrived exhausted and departed less than 24 hours later with a new vibrancy after delicious food and deep rest. This is the kind of hotel you want to live in and I would have spent an extra day in Kandy just to have one more night at this property. This is the experience one always hopes for. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
