What’s not to like about this place? It is absolutely wonderful. The hotel is beautiful - really clean, great location, and the staff were exceptional. The manager was so attentive, friendly and warm and was so helpful in organising excursions for us; I cannot recommend this place highly enough. The hotel is extremely well placed, only 50m from bars and restaurants though we didn’t bother going out as it was so nice where we were and the food was great too. It was also located directly opposite a fantastic wood carving shop where they do great demonstrations of both carving and traditional wood dye techniques.

Only cold water, No hot water. We stayed 3 nights, unfortunately we weren’t lucky with the weather because was raining almost constantly for 3 days, and we couldn’t have any hot shower for all our stay.

Very good hotel with extremely nice staff. The rooms are very comfortable, well equipped and clean. We had a great room with nice gardens , air conditioning, TV, large shower and fridge. The staff are to be highly commended! The boss fulfills your every wish and is always there for you. The cook prepares great food, in the morning for breakfast and in the evening a very good dinner. We would recommend the Sri-Lanka Breakfast! The hotel also offers many activities, from safari tours, cooking classes and wellness. We really enjoyed our stay here and would come back anytime.

Lovely setting, surrounded by well kept tropical gardens. Large room with a good hot shower and some outdoor space to share with the wildlife (peacocks, birds, butterflies and a puppy!). Staff were really friendly and helped us arrange a few trips. Breakfast was amazing and varied each morning. Really close to a selection of restaurants and a grocery store.

Wifi was really bad (but this is common in the area). Room was a bit dark. We found the owner to be a little bit pushy.

I recently stayed at Sunshine Resort and Spa with my family, and we had a fantastic time. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. The location is stunning, with beautiful views and a peaceful atmosphere. We enjoyed the delicious food, with a great variety of local and international dishes that catered to everyone's tastes. The service was excellent, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. The environment was tranquil, surrounded by lush gardens, and our rooms were spacious and comfortable. Overall, it was a perfect family getaway, and I highly recommend Sunshine Resort and Spa!

The welcome at Sunshine Resort & Spa Sigiriya was excellent. We arrived around 1 p.m. The rooms, however, are ready only from 2 p.m., but there was no issue with leaving our luggage while we went to visit Lion's Rock and returned afterward. The entrance for the Lion's Rock road is about 10 minutes away. Count an additional 15-20 minutes on foot to reach the ticket purchase for Lion's Rock entrance. Of course, you can take a tuk-tuk instead of walking. The rooms have everything necessary, nothing to complain about. The next day, we talked about the elephant safari to the receptionist, and he offered to call a "tour" that is nearby, I think, to be able to do it. There are 3 national parks where you can see the elephants, and they know where there are the most at the moment. So, we went to Huluru and saw a lot of elephants. The best part was that the jeep picked us up at the hotel, we went to the botanic garden for free, and then headed to the safari. Once the safari was over, the jeep took us directly to our new hotel in Dambulla. The cost was 15,000 LKR for the jeep/guide and 5,000 LKR for the entrance for 2 people. Additionally, the breakfast was very generous and good.

Sunshine Resort & Spa was such a good choice to stay in Sigiriya!! Extremely well located near restaurants, ATMs, shops and most importantly the Pidurangala and Lion Rock!!! Ruchira received us with so much kindness and happiness and made us feel super at home and at ease. We only had one day and wanted to do and see so much, so Ruchira promptly organised everything which was incredible and was hassle free. Could not recommend this place more, it will make your journey so much better!!! :)

We can warmly recommend the hotel. The garden is very nice, everything is beautifully furnished and the location of the hotel is also very good. There are great restaurants and bars nearby. However, we particularly remember the service. The people were so incredibly nice. We would particularly like to highlight Ruchira. He gave us so many valuable tips and also helped us when we had a small discussion with a tuktuk driver. Really a very likeable person, which we have rarely been able to experience in such a form. Thank you again!

From the time we arrived. ,the Manager Ruchira was exceptional...we arrived late, we were shown to our rooms immediately without insisting on payment etc. Dinner was fantastic. The view from the place, overlooking rice fields, with peacocks was so zen. Very near to the Sirigaya Rock palace. The next day too, breakfast was awesome. We are vegetarians...and served with stringhoppers, thosai, pol roti, sambar, dhall, fruit, fruit shake and tea. All in all ..hats off to the place and crew.. Will return

i had a fantastic one night stay! The staff was very friendly and helpful. the room was clean and beautiful and the owner were incredibly warm and welcome , Dinner was delicious and breakfast was a rich of local and European options. everything was clean and the food was delicious. located in the heart of sigiriya, walking distance to town and pidurangala, lion rock. you can arrange your excursions with staff for a GOOD PRICE AND SERVICE.
