Wonderful week spent here after travelling. Ali and Kapi the owners are so friendly and helpful. We had some great chats . The cabanas are spacious and spotlessly clean - the bed super comfy! Air con great. The staff are brilliant - work tirelessly and will do absolutely anything to help. Breakfast super lots of choice and service quick. Had lunches and dinner all of which were of high standard . Prawn kebabs a favourite! Location on a lovely beach at the quieter end of tangalle. Lots of other beaches nearby . Can walk to many beach front restaurants. Ali and team can recommend and organise trips they are super efficient . Get a scooter for a couple of days and ride out to surrounding areas . A week here with food drinks and scooter was really inexpensive for the service, location and accommodation. Please visit you won’t be disappointed

We loved our stay at this beautiful cabana right on the beach. Beautiful setting at the quieter end of the beach away from the larger throngs of tourists and many loungers. All the staff and particularly Alison were a joy to deal with and chat to. They are really focused on your enjoyment and take time to check in, discuss your stay and help with any advice and transfers to other locations you may need, which they certainly did with us. Rooms were very comfortable, the beach is in front of you and the breakfasts were consistently excellent. Loved our time at Serenity Beach Cabanas. The driver they provided to our next destination (Yala) was also excellent. Thank you!

Excellent choice of accommodation, we are so happy we booked Serenity Cabanas. The owners are a lovely couple from Sri Lanka and New Zealand, Elle and Kapila - they are always around making sure guests are ok and feel at home, in fact we felt at home. Breakfast is so delicious, staff are wonderful, we appreciate everybody’s effort, big thanks to Ravi, he is always there with a big smile, we love your sense of humour - Thank you Tharidu, for your great service. Also massive hug to the beautiful lady at the reception. Rooms are spacious, you’ll have everything you need. View outside your cabana is gorgeous, the sound of the waves at night is so soothing, you sleep like a baby on those comfortable beds. The place is clean, the level of hygiene is superb, there is a laundry service, and the owners provide tips on things to do in Tangalle. We couldn’t find a better place, thank you so much for your hospitality

Quality, comfort and attention is what you get when you stay here! Lovely staff managed by Nimesha, the perfect host. Five quality furnished cabanas in a charming coconut palm grove right on the beach perfectly situated close to restaurants and town. A memorable and restful stay...thank you!

My one and only gripe was the attitude of the Russian tourists from the cheap Lagoon hotel located behind the Serenity. They seem to believe that they are entitled to using the Serenity private beach loungers and garden...they are not! A sign in English (and Russian) might help as would a word with the the Russian owner of the Lagoon hotell!

We were lucky enough to base ourselves at Serentiy Beach Cabanas for 3 weeks. One of just 5 cabanas, our lovely room No.1 was spacious with a super comfortable bed and very good quality bed linen and towels. It was kept immaculately clean with linen changed every other day or whenever requested. The location of Serenity could not be better. Peaceful and just feet from the breaking waves, the beach with its comfortable beds and chairs, provides the perfect setting for relaxation… and Serenity’s verandah restaurant is also the perfect spot for a drink or freshly prepared and tasty meal. Ravi, Rani, Nimeesha and Thilini are just 4 of the excellent team of 11 staff – if it did not make this review too long, we would like to name them all. Had we met the owner of Serenity (he was away) we would have congratulated him on his Team of staff. They could not have done more to make our stay enjoyable. Nothing was too much trouble and despite the very long hours they all work, the service they provided was unfailingly courteous and always with a smile. We miss them all and hope to return to enjoy more of the wonderful Sri Lankan hospitality you will find at Serenity. Highly recommended.

The resort is small and consists of five bungalows/cabanas and a restaurant. The bungalows all have a terrace with sea view. The cabanas are spacious and airy with high ceilings with comfortable bedding, new and clean sheets, a/c, mini fridge, hairdryer, safety box and large and soft beach and shower towels. The bungalow is clean. The shower room is spacious. The terrace has sea view and is furnished.

Sockets or perhaps the entire power system needs updating. Wifi was slow. There is a narrow dirt track between the property and the beach with some bike traffic. The sea was on the entire beach rough and the wind was strong.

We were smitten by the simple charms of Serenity! From the warmth of the welcome to our send off four days later, the team absolutely made Serenity Beach the little gem that it is. The location, right on the beach, was perfect and all the better for being slightly away from the busier stretch. The food was superb - amazing breakfasts and classic Sri Lankan curries - just what we came for. The cabanas were great too - simple but clean and very comfortable and provided everything we needed.

The extreme climate takes its toll on the property and the effects are only partly mitigated by the constant efforts of the staff. The main building could do with a little renovation, just to maintain its simple charm.

Beautiful accommodation directly on the Beach. Ali, Kapi and their wonderful staff couldn’t do enough for you to make our stay special. Breakfast was amazing, big portions complimented by coffee/tea and a fresh fruit smoothie. We also had dinner one evening, it was superb and I’d highly recommend. We loved Tangalle, nice relaxed beach resort with plenty of places to explore locally.

I liked everything about my stay. I actually spent 3 nights here and would gladly have spent more. The resort is located right on a lovely spot on the beach. It's a short walk to the town and you can venture further along the beach too. I loved my cabana which was really clean, it had a lovely clean and comfortable bed with a mosquito net in good condition. My towels were white and almost new! The bathroom was small and clean with a warm shower. It was great to have a kettle with teabags and cups as well as a small fridge. Breakfasts were prepared to order and were very nice. I also ate at the restaurant on two evenings and my food was prepared fresh and was tasty. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming and courteous. I started receiving fresh flowers on my patio table from day 2 - a lovely touch! I would definitely recommend to those who appreciate a bit of beach serenity and peace and quiet. I would definitely stay here again.
