Location is spectacular with views to the glacier and high peaks at the end of the valley. It was easy to get to and staff were very welcoming. Food was excellent - local products thoughtfully presented in tasty dishes. It is easy to get onto hiking trails from the hotel.

Lighting in the room was very dim and we were barely able to read at night. It would have been helpful if the hotel had maps showing nearby hiking trails. Reception told us that this year's summer map had not yet arrived (we were there at the very beginning of June). Even the Office du Tourisme in Evolène, the nearest office, did not have a very helpful map.

In Arolla, this is the only place you can ski out ski in really. Old atmosphere is good to get the feeling of being out of the noisy, crowded urban life. Since my earlier visits some years ago, they did selective modernisation.

There is no real option other than having dinner at the hotel. Given that, and during the busy school holiday week when I happened to be there, the menu for dinner could have been made more flexible. I had to eat the same main dish three time in seven meals, for instance.

Stunning views on the glacier, incredibly nice and friendly staff (hello, Julia!) - amazing four-leg furry friend being part of the Team. Food in the restaurant is exceptional, location of the hotel on the trail nr 6, fantastic massages, historic and well-maintained hotel. We had a rest day on our 10-day hike there, I could not imagine a better and more friendly place.

Bathrooms could be maybe renovated.

This was our fifth or sixth stay at the Kurhaus in the last few years. We always enjoy our stays but this time we were blown away by the new chef and menu! The dinner we had was probably the best meal I've had in Switzerland after living here for almost 3 years. The level of service throughout the hotel has also improved significantly.

The rooms are very basic and a bit cold this time of year, but the common spaces of the hotel are very cozy.

Location, location, location. Wonderful spot in the middle of the mountains in Arolla, with views on the Pigne & Mont Collon. Rooms are tiny and creaky, the shower is not really fit for tall (or large) people, but the surroundings and the authenticity of this place make up for all of this. It's just a magical place.

The breakfast was not at all as expected, we were a little bit late and there was almost nothing left. Too bad since the breakfast is included in the price.

This 1890’s hotel dates back (graciously and classy) to the start of Alpine tourism for the happy few of my great grandparents days. Some of the athmosphere and old relics are still there. The hotel, stylish restaurant and terrace-bar are still very much alive and kicking. The friendly hard working staff make it all happen. Location at the end of a valley in Unterwallis is a garantee for Unesco-worthy landscapes. Nice room, greatest of view, fine beds and shower. Good breakfast.

The 1890’s feeling sometimes made place for that of a youth hostel because hikers use this hotel as startingpoint or place for recuperation. My wife unfortunedly did not enjoy two courses of her meal on the first evening. Mine were fine. The other evenings we dined in the two other (nice) restaurants, nearby in Arollo. Room 109 was not very big, and probably not their best, although for views it was a very good room.

Hi we are all the way from New Zealand, I love this hotel so much. Very cosy. I love that they have a larger space where children can hangout . Breakfast is very good with many options. Reception staff are very kind and accommodating, the outside views are also outstanding! . I would love to come back to Switzerland and stay here again!

Felt transported back in the hey days of Alpine travel in the early 20th century - like how the location has kept that experience. People working here were all very helpful and cheerful which made the stay all the more pleasent.

Just beware that this isn't a 5 star 21st century hotel and you're fine. Nothing to dislike.

Very good location, ski in, ski out (with a little bit of up hill walking). Hotel was very rustic, but charming. Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very good, and beautiful views of the mountains.

Side lights in the bedroom were a bit temperamental, and only 1 spare power socket.

Breathtaking views, beautiful property, elegant hotel in the woods. The staff were exceptional, friendly, accommodating and absolute lovely human beings.

The only “flaw” was the fluctuating water temperature during the shower. Given the historical nature of the facility, that is perhaps part of the experience.
