The rooms work fine, the beds are really comfy and the blackout curtains work really well. The wifi is fast, the shower is nice and hot, and breakfast is not spectacularly varied, but what is there is very good so I do not have any real complaints. The staff is always friendly and ready to help, and a lot of helpful information relating to the stay is available immediately at the entrance. One morning one of the owners (Zenklusen family) came over during breakfast and greeted every table, putting in the effort to speak the language of the guests and being genuinely affable and courteous. The location is excellent. It is a very good base to go back to for all your Oberwallis needs.

Nothing serious really, it just so happens that for both stays there were issues with the automatic check-in (different ones). This is not functionally a problem though as the help number is posted right next to the machine, and they answer immediately to sort things out. Worst case scenario they give you the door code over the phone so you wait inside while someone comes over to get things back on track.

The hotel was very centrally located. Rooms were simple and clean with a balcony looking out onto the mountains. Beds were very comfortable. A continental style breakfast with some Western items was included. Guests were advised that staying at the hotel entitled them to some meal discounts at 2 local restaurants.

Not so much a dislike as an unexpected difficulty with the self check-in. I had booked 3 rooms through booking.com and the self check-in system would not accept my confirmation number. Luckily a guest exiting the hotel let me into the building saying there was a 24/7 telephone available at the desk which could be used to get help. When I called the number listed I reached the hotel manager. After explaining my difficulty with self check-in she explained what had probably caused the issue and within ten minutes arrived on site to promptly take care of signing us in.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel! We were traveling as a group of three plus a dog, and everything was perfect. The self-check-in process was very easy and allowed us to arrive late without any issues. The free parking was a great bonus, and the breakfast was very complete, with plenty of options. The location is excellent, both for a stopover and for visiting the city, as it is right next to the castle. Highly recommended!

The only small improvement would be the shower hose, which was a bit short for tall people. Other than that, everything was great! Highly recommended!

We had a balcony in our room which we hadn't expected, with a truly spectacular view. Breakfast was included and was really good. as well as the microwave over, there was a bookshelf with books in various languages you could borrow in the breakfast room (where you could also bring food in in the evening) . Staff, when they were there, were really pleasant and helpful.

The self check in machine didn't work and we saw this happen to a few others too. However, calling the number did get us into our room. One day our room key seemed to have been deactivated and this was harder to sort out as i couldn't speak good enough German for the person on the end of the emergency phone - but we did get back in! Computers are letting customers down here, maybe just staffing the desk at regular hours would work better? As a UK worked on our health and safety committee, i felt the lift would have been not allowed! It was fine to use with care. Just don't touch the door once you're in, because there isn't one......

Perfect centre point to “set up camp” and venture around the Swiss Alps. The morning breakfast was a great buffet and started the day well for us. The way they do their check-in is nice if you arrive at 2pm or after.

We arrived early and asked if we could drop our bags off and they allowed it. But the only problem is that no one was there and we had to phone them to come down to the hotel, but we didn’t have calling credits being in a foreign country.

Everything! - Communication from the staff. - Monique and the other staff who helped to store our luggage before our check-in time. - Room, washroom and amenities. - Outdoor balcony overlooking a beautiful castle and the mountains! - An easy 10-minute walk to/from the main train station. - The kind lady who offered to pack up our breakfast since we decided not to eat as we were in a rush to catch our morning train ❤️ I'm glad I found this property. Very underrated. I'd love to stay here again for a few days the next time I visit Switzerland.

Room: The room was great and exactly as advertised. Location: The location is amazing. Right next to the main landmark in Brig and very central. Breakfast: The breakfastbuffet was really good. The hosts were amazing and incredibly friendly.

The toilet was (as advertised) outside of the room and it was really small. I am a little bigger and it was very uncomfortable. But this was a very small thing (pun intended) and it was not a big problem for the stay

The location is exceptional. Our room was a balcony facing the castle. Quick walk to the center of town and anything you may need. Breakfast was good and several options. Helpful and friendly staff.

The room was really warm, and it was hard to cool off at night. Luckily, it was cool outside, so we were able to leave the doors open to cool the room. Self-check-in kiosk had issues when checking out, but the staff helped over the phone and came in person.

I was a bit apprehensive about self check in based on other reviews, but it was fine and very easy. Just a touch screen, and you can change it into English on the screen. Just add your details and it finds your booking and gives you the key. Room was large and clean. Shower was small but had fantastic water pressure. Best shower I have had in a while! Breakfast was good. Nice location in front of castle and walking distance to restaurants. We didn't have a castle view (facing the other way) but had a nice mountain view. Nice to have a balcony. Great value. Recommended.

No issues, really. Would have liked the vending machine in reception to take card. Really can't think of any problems with the hotel though it was good.

The location was insurpassable next to an historical castle and church and a short walk to the historical centre of this beautiful Alpine town including restaurants and shops. Waking to the surrounding snow-capped peaks was a bonus! The owner greeted us warmly and was more than friendly and helpful. Train station was nearby. Generous, delicious breakfast was very welcome as was the lift for our luggage.

Everything was perfect.
