Wonderful owner that greeted us so warmly and was super friendly. Location en route to Italy was excellent just before the Swiss border . Parking was on the main square as hotel doesn't have it's own parking . Breakfast was plentiful and great quality,owner made us fresh scrambled eggs . It was very good if expensive .

Room was small and the bed was very small , other than that ok for one night . No complimentary water provided . No restaurant on site for dinner and restaurant across the square was unfortunately very mediocre .

La Courrone is a very nice little hotel. What makes it special is the host (sorry, I wrote her name down but can't find it). She treated us like family.. She went out of her way to make sure all our needs were met and made us feel very welcome. The room was very nice and quiet. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed due to illness, but our host directed us to La Poste 1900 which was a very fine restaurant. We had a mushroom in sauce starter, a carafe of wine, and two "small" pizzas (which were huge!). All excellent and all for 43 euros. Crazy inexpensive!

We had such a warm and friendly welcome by Monsieur who showed us where to park (all free in the square and the road) and was most helpful - bringing us drinks, an ironing board and iron to our room. We overlooked the little street and could see the interesting church next door. Monsieur has the key if you want to visit, it's on the pilgrim route from Canterbury to Paris. Beautiful countryside with a ravine down below where the village used to be beside the river, and I imagine great for walkers/hiking. Monsieur gave me a great history lesson - I speak French - of the town and its history. We had a delicious dinner of a very good soup, a veal dish and a mousse au chocolat with a strawberry coulis. You order breakfast the night before so he can order fresh croissants, rolls etc. There is also fruit and cereals to help yourself. This is a typical French old fashioned hotel just over the border from Switzerland and we loved it. Very 'bio'! We had driven over the Simplon Pass on our way home from Italy. Quiet and peaceful, but I imagine in the summer and the skiing season it would be very busy. Beautiful weather. A great find. Merci Monsieur!!

It was perfect.

The woman running the front desk is wonderful. I arrived after a soaking-wet afternoon walking the Via Francigena; she showed me to my room, made me a coffee, and made a dinner reservation for me at a nearby restaurant. The rooms are very comfortable, and there’s a lovely sitting room downstairs.

This is a lovely hotel in a wonderful location. The proprietress is very kind and friendly. When we stayed, her chef was taken ill, so she had to close the hotel restaurant. Not only did she book us a table for dinner at another restaurant, she also arranged for us to be driven there! The breakfast was terrific and well worth the extra cost. Highly recommended!

Walking through the snow, the sight of La Couronne beside the church was very welcome. Lady in charge was very helpful and I had a nice big room and access to a lounge. A little off the GR5 / E2 footpath I was walking but not too much. Handy for the Via Fracigena.

Unfortunately restaurant was closed for dinner but there was a Chinese and Italian within walking distance.

Everything. If I could give it more stars, I would. It was the best breakfast of the entire Via Francigena. I felt like part of the family. Margarida could not be more welcoming and generous. I absolutely loved my two nights here.

Everything was perfect

The location was a convenient stop for our journey. The proprietor was extremely helpful, the room was nice and the breakfast was of the finest quality food locally produced.

The host was so welcoming. We are walking the Via Francigena and this hotel is ideally situated but on top of that it is a really wonderful hotel with great comfortable rooms and great food.

We got a very warm welcome and by luck were also upgraded to a larger room.

Nothing to dislike, this is a charming hotel with a lovely landlady.
