The hotel is just a stones throw from the beautiful village of Gruyères, up on a hill. It is easily accessible by foot or bus. There is parking in front of the hotel. The views from the rooms are very pretty. Some rooms also come with balconies. I would personally recommend the option of two single beds over one large, due to the size. The rooms were simple and clean. The building has a lot of charm. The hotel offered breakfast options. Otherwise there is not much else available early in the area. There are basic spa facilities available. We used this hotel as a base to also emjoy other activities nearby and found it a good option.

Very conveniently located: close to castle and in walking distance to station and Gruyère cheese home. The walk from the station short but uphill, there is an option to take bus from the station, which takes oneself directly to the hotel. Very comfortable bed, room is equipped with mini-fridge and teapot. Very clean. Breakfast is amazing: satisfying amount of different cold and hot options. People in the hotel are super helpful.

There is no air conditioning. It was quite hot during my stay, and room becomes uncomfortable. Shower-head adjusted at two pre-installed levels, bit tricky for taller people.

What a charming place with friendly staff! The Hotel de Gruyeres was a rustic hotel but very comfortable. I loved its charm. my room was very comfortable. Being an older property there were not quite as many outlets for powering up devices but I was able to manage. Wifi was fine! My request for a room on an upper floor was granted (no lift, only stairs) affording some nice views. Luggage storage was also cheerfully supplied so that I could linger a bit in the area after checkout. I did not try the hotel breakfast, preferring to picnic in my room.

Picture postcard setting and good location for the village and easy access, if fit and able, to walk to & from The Cheese Factory & train station. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was available at the property if you wanted it. The restaurant attached to the hotel offered us discount during our stay (which was also available in their gift shop in the village). We had dinner in the restaurant which was excellent and had stunning views. We spent the afternoon in the village & chateau. Very picturesque, tranquil & peaceful.

Only niggle and not a lot they can do, but the flies in the room were a nuisance and hurt if they bit you (which they did me, not my daughter). Staff took it seriously when mentioned and attended to the problem promptly.

The location of the hotel worked well for us. It was an easy walk to the main part of town and to the bus stop. We loved that our room had a balcony with a beautiful view. There were so many yummy choices of food for breakfast. The staff was friendly and professional.

The only thing that wasn’t so great, through no fault of the hotel, was that there was a smoker on one of the balconies next to us. He was a very pleasant man. We just don’t like being around cigarette smoke. Minor problem. It wouldn’t stop us from staying there again.

We stayed two nights end of November and booked a spacious quadruple room on the 3rd floor, which had a mountain view and side view on the castle. Everything was perfect: 1) Very close to the center of the village (there are only a few hotels in such proximity to Gruyeres and Hotel de Gruyeres is the most affordable); 2) hotel is located on the hill, so you do not have to go up from public parking P1, P2 or P3; 3) private parking with 9 places and a couple of places for motorbikes (free of charge); 4) if private parking is full, the car can be parked on P1, P2 or P3 for 10 CHF per day or free of charge between 18:00 and 8:00; 5) room is equipped with a fridge, kettle, safe; 6) fabulous fresh breakfast with a lot of choices; 7) very friendly ladies on reception; 8) wellness center with sauna and hammam (can be booked and ready for use in one hour of heating) and small gym (well equipped); 9) restaurant with a terrace outside with an amazing view; 10) 5 min to the cheese factory and 15 min to chocolate factory by car.

I would say the restaurant has a limited selection of dishes but you get 10% discount at the reception on arrival.

It's a great location that is close to the village of Gruyeres and the train station.

It was a little warm and the only way to introduce some cool air was to leave the window open. It would be nice if there was a way to secure the window so we can leave it open but still prevent people from seeing in or coming in.

Chose the hotel for location to the Castle and H.R. Giger museum. Parking was good. Wifi was good. staff were friendly and helpful. Price represents the location.

Room we stayed in had a walkway to the front door outside the window - wasn't that busy but a few people were quite loud quite late. Otherwise - wouldn't have bothered us. Shower went cold a couple of times but stayed warm in the end.

Everything was amazing...from our greeting at reception to check-out...the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming. Our room was lovely - comfortable and clean with a stunning view of the mountains and the castle :) Wellness Facilities were excellent and breakfast was tasty with an amazing variety. The hotel is in a great location with only a few minutes walk to the beautiful little village of Gruyeres. We loved our stay and would highly recommend!

The location is stunning, right outside the main gate to the old town of Gruyères, just a 10 minute walk to the Château. Parking is available on premises, which is a big plus! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the check-in / out process was very smooth. Our room had stunning views of the valley located behind the hotel and the Château de Gruyères. I booked this type of room at the recommendation of another traveler, and I couldn't be happier! Let's not forget the adorable mama and baby deer happily grazing in the pastures behind the hotel! No AC, but a table fan was provided. We also left the windows open at night for additional cooling (with lights off to prevent bugs from getting in). Waking up to the gorgeous views of the valley was the highlight of our stay at this property. There is a restaurant on the premises. It has excellent gruyere cheese fondue, salads and desserts! Did I mention the views? Best in town! The breakfast was delicious, and the views again can't be beat! Would love to come back to this property in the future!
