This is an exceptionally well run and appointed hotel, offering a very generous buffet breakfast, including most everything one might expect. And the housekeepers, aside from one problem (see below) provided excellent room preparation both before and during our short stay.

The 'late' afternoon housekeeping (following 'normal' service, which clearly entered the room in order to replenish the complimentary toiletry and refreshment items violated our most important concern: room temperature. Not only did they raise the exterior blinds, but they also opened the (previously deliberately entirely closed) room curtains and even adjusted/raised the temperature of the air conditioner (which we deliberately left running via inserted spare room key so as to continue electrical power inside the room). All of which amounted to an unexpectedly, unacceptably hot and stuffy room when we arrived late in the evening, expecting to be heading to bed. Such conduct is unacceptable, and accounts for this less than entirely superior evaluation of this property.

It is right outside the train station. It is right in pedestrian zone, across from buses that can be caught to the falls, and imperfect walking distance of everything in the centrum. The staff, especially Jennifer and Dominic, we’re super great. Had parking for bikes as well.

The bed was hard, and the pillow was very uncomfortable. Air conditioning was in the sitting room. We had our window open all night. And noise outside was loud from the alleyway. Although the hotel does leave you earplugs. But I really didn’t mind as I was happy being here.

1. Lack of restaurant in what perports to be a 4 star hotel. Went to restaurant recommended by hotel staff which was good but quite expensive. 2. Only one small lift up to our floor but this did not prove too bad.

This was the best hotel we stayed during our entire 10 day trip to Switzerland, huge rooms with separate sitting area, good size beds, coffee/tea was amazing, restroom decent size, adequate towels and robe/slippers which are rare in western countries. On top of that, an amazing breakfast with lots of choices for everyone’s taste. Check out time is 12:00 which is late for European standards.

All good except The bathtub is bit too high for me

The location was great, very easy to reach the main square and all attractions. Breakfast was very good. Many things to choose at the buffet line. Teas and coffees are available 24/7 which is the best thing ever. Take away cups are also given. This is what I love about this place most not mentioning the cleanliness of the room and the comfortable beds. Definitely will stay again and recommend friends and family to stay if in the area.

The hotel is very nice. It is right next to the station and road, but it has very good soundproofing, so it is very quiet in the room. Also the road has limited traffic, so it is not very noisy outside. Breakfast (from 6:30 on weekdays and from 7:30 on Sunday) is very delicious: there is full English plus salmon, shrimps, cold cuts, cheeses, salads, croissants, pastries, fresh fruit, yoghurt etc.

Clean well maintained room, great hotel location, safe area. Room was ready early. Friendly staff.

wifi was troublesome with the online portal instead of the straightforward wifi network and wifi password system. it also required a local number, or credit card details (no charge) which was strange. i ended up not using it after the first time as it was inconvenient. Other than that everything else was excellent!

The hotel is basically next to the train and bus stop. But it is not noisy even when we have a room facing the main road. The bed was very comfortable that we almost missed the breakfast. The breakfast was abundant with hot and cold dishes to choose from.

There was road work just outside the hotel when we visited in June, so had to walk around the work, but nothing major.

Well located across from the train station and directly abutting the downtown. Despite the proximity to the train station, the room we had was very quiet as well as roomy. Staff was excellent and particularly friendly to my 6-year old. Breakfast was very good.

Not much to complain about, except a rather deceptive little step coming from the corridor into the room.

The location is excellent whether walking or travelling by train or bus. Access to all the facilities in Schaffhausen was perfect. The staff are excellent. Always had happy faces. Always courteous, and really nice to talk to, even in English. The buffet breakfast had enough range to keep most people happy. I am going to miss the sesame seed coated croissants - absolute favourite! :-) The room was clean and comfortable. Bed was comfortable as well.

Only negative - there are no laundromats in Schaffhausen. So, if you are staying for more than a couple of days and you don't want to pay the quite expensive in-house laundry rates, get used to hand washing your clothing.
