Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel location a 10min walk max from station. Helped us with the free local transport offer with buses every 15mins. Also free Lake Cruise which we took up (£40 per person otherwise). Just remember every journey (boat or bus for example) you take on the app you have to select which family members are travelling on that particular occasion - each person needs a virtual ticket for each trip. Hotel had great air con , spotlessly clean, superb breakfast included, and triple glazing so no road noise when windows shut. Lovely and breathtaking area - went to harbour a few times which is stunning. Obviously expensive area in general as you would expect but well worth it. Local shopping centre was great too. Went up Mount Pilatus - great experience on the train and cable cars.

Nothing at all - everything perfect.

The hotel is ideally situated, the rooms were comfortable and spacious, the property is in a good shape for what it is.

Parking can be tricky if it gets busy, but at least it is offered. Breakfast could’ve done with a little more variety - or at least a list of things you can request! I love that they are conscientious about waste and therefore only bring you something that has run out if you request it! However if you aren’t there when it runs out how do you know what they have or what you can request? - a list of breakfast foods available for request would be appreciated.

Their breakfast was excellent with lots of good traditional Swiss options and was incorporated into the price of the room. The staff was excellent and helped immensely with site-seeing options and other things to do around Zug. The adjoining restaurant (where breakfast was also served) was a destination dinner for lots in Zug and was excellent. They also had an old-fashioned Kagelbahn (9-pin bowling) lanes in the basement of the hotel that can be rented (we did!). The hotel is a very old, but well renovated, building in Zug that is family run. The location is within 10 minutes of the train station (very walkable) and 15 minutes of the Altstadt (old part of Zug).

If you are looking for a big, fancy, 4-star hotel under a national flag (hotel brand), this is NOT it. It is an excellent(!) hotel for what it is which is a historic property that is very clean with somewhat eclectic rooms of odd shapes but well-renovated to modern standards that has been successfully operated by three-generations of the same family. The price/value of the stay is very close if you love staying at a hotel that has good history to it and on the smaller size. The price/value gets a bit out of whack if one starts to compare amenities and facilities that one might get at a nationally flagged property. That said, we like the former and would seek Zugertor out again on another trip.

Comfy and quiet rooms, pleasant ambience, ample breakfast options, and right by the bus line to the lake (runs every 15 min and takes just a few minutes to get there). Extra touches like a freezer stocked with ice cream you can buy, guest umbrellas, and towels you can grab on your way to the lake made for a great stay!

The location, close to Zug train station very convenient. Cute hotel, we were upgraded to a larger room.Theres nothing really not to like. Just book this, we did our research and you really wont get a better value room with car parking and close to the station in Zug!!

They forgot to add extra set of towels for 2, only had 1 set for the two of us. Most likely due to the sudden upgrade. So not an issue we got a set pretty much straight away.

I could tell this was going to be a good stay by how helpful and friendly the reception staff were dealing with some requests even before we stayed. And they were even better in person. Our room was larger and more modern than I expected. The attached restaurant provided a good breakfast and we also dined there two nights. Air conditioning worked well and Wi-Fi was fast. It was possible to store our bikes in their underground garage. Railway station is close and there are plenty of shops for essentials near the station.

There is a construction site next door and we noticed a small amount of noise the first day - not really a problem.

Like most continental breakfasts the provided foods were excellent. The honour system for drinks, wines and nibbles worked well for us.

Probably a little further away from Zug HB than we would have liked especially as we were lugging our own cases. Had we had more information we might have caught a taxi.

This hotel is expensive, as all are in Swizerland, but probably it is the best value you can find in Zug. It is a small hotel with modern, good size comfortable rooms. Breakfast was all right and staff was really helpfull. It is conveniently located at one of the main streets 5 min walking from the train station and 15 min from the old town and the lake.

It had a lovely minimalist design with small extras like beach towels, an honor-based snack/drink station, a shoe buffing machine - and a drawer full of borrowable electricity converters!

There was only 1 key per room and it was needed to use the elevator. So my family had to coordinate especially on arrival and departure times, which was hard because I worked while the others went sightseeing.

Very helpful staff - customer centric and accommodating. Had an issue with lights in my room; they attempted to fix right away but meantime offered an upgrade to a very nice suite. This is how Customer service should be.... Location was good and hotel was very clean with a underground garage that actually had space for multiple cars.... not like some other places that advertise parking but then send you to a public parking lot 200meter away. Very happy.

Nothing really wrong.... hotels in Zug are small and relatively expensive comparing to other cities within EU....but that's just the nature of the area.....
