Amazing helpful staff and excellent location which was close to all local amenities i.e. shops, restaurants, local bakery and tram stop is just one minute walking distance from the hotel. The hotel was spotless clean, my room was cleaned to a high standard everyday. I booked this trip for my birthday. First I was hesitant to book a single room as I thought it may be too small (thinking about the UK hotels single room size), however after arriving all my doubts vanished. It has all the facilities one person needs except toilet & shower, i.e. it has wardrobe, microwave, cutleries, kettle, sink, tv, desk & chair (where I was working in the evenings after my trip to catch up with my workload) & etc. Toilet & shower were shared, however during my stay I was the only one using the toilet just myself and regarding shower I did not even notice someone was using it either. Both were spotless clean. The hotel does not offer breakfast, however there are plenty options such as local bakery or Freytag where you can have amazing breakfast (there also make various fresh tasty sandwiches + cakes) which is less than 5 minute walking distance from the hotel. The hotel staff were super helpful, they have a good attention to detail too as they gave me a birthday card & chocolate which I did not expect - it was thoughtful of them. They take good care of their guests. I would like to thank them for hosting me and thank especially Samantha for being so helpful, giving advices, recommendations and explaining the area and places to visit in so much detailed way. I have never experienced anywhere such an excellent customer service and care of hotel staff about their guests before. I will definitely come back to this place again when I am in Zurich and recommend this place to others 😊

The location was at the right place, close to city centre; and despite the rooms being smaller they had every little facility; like iron box, umbrellas, toiletries, towels, cutlery and almost every thing…which pretty much made up for the space; the family too was very accommodative; looks like every small detail of guests was thought about!

Maybe couple of hooks or rods to hang towels/napkins could be provided

Excellent room (they even gave me a free upgrade to a larger room although it wasn't necessary)--comfy bed, microwave and fridge with free water and a beer in it, nice shower, motion sensor nightlight in the bathroom, extra clean, helpful staff. The location was great--2 blocks from the lake with path to the old town) and right by a tram stop and only 2 tram stops from a train station that takes you to the airport. A super stay and I would stay there again. Only drawback was no elevator, but they gave me a choice of ground floor room or second floor.

Only difficulty for some people is that there was no elevator. Also, from the main train station I knew which tram to take but had difficulty finding where it was located outside the train station. Couldn't find an info desk and had to ask a local.

The owner of the hotel was lovely and the hotel itself was very clean, cozy and the location couldn't be better situated. I chose the economy room with the shared bathroom (as described on the website) and was very pleased with my choice. The toilet and shower that where shared were very clean and I never even met another guest using the shower - so no wait time at all. The room is equipped with a sink, a hairdryer, a bathrobe, a microwave, a small fridge, a ventilator for hot summer nights and an adapter for those who forgot that Switzerland has different power outlets than e.g. austria (I'm speaking of myself.. I forgot that 😅). There is a busstation right in front of the hotel and it's only a short walk by foot to the lake. All in all it was a great stay and I'm looking forward to visiting the Aparthotel from family Hugenschmidt again 😊

For me it was not a problem at all, but i guess elderly people or people with special needs could have a problem with the stairs (I think there was no elevator).

This is a friendly, family run establishment. The hosts are very welcoming and very helpful in providing information about their city and their neighboorhood. The hotel is steps away from the tram stop which provides you rapid access to the city. If we return to Zurich, we would try to stay here again.

The laundry facility for the hotel rooms are first-rate but be aware that you will need to book access to the laundry and that it is an additional charge.

Excellent location right by the bus stop. Away from the busy city center but within walking distance of everything. The family that greeted us is lovely and made us feel like home right away. I can tell they really love their property and their guests!

Only one thing- and it’s an American thing- the A/C is a very small unit in the main area and doesn’t cool the rooms off.

ApartHotel is very clean. Staff is very friendly. Location is great. There are many restaurants in the area, also the lake is 2 min walking distance. We learned how to use the bus and it is 10 min from the central station. There is also a train station within 7 min walking distance.

The two bedroom apartments are very spacious and thoughtfully decorated. The location is superb. The tram to the city centre (7 minutes) is right outside. The lake is a short walk (5 minutes) away. The area is vibrant, but not too busy. Lots of lovely restaurants, cafes, bars, and bakeries, in very close proximity. The proprietors are extremely helpful and very friendly people.We have stayed here several times before and love it.

The location was great. We were travelling with our toddler, so it was nice to be near the lake, some playgrounds, and bakeries. Good supermarket nearby too. It was also near the light rail transit line. The property was super clean, nice, and well equipped. Our apartment was also very quiet, and we were on the ground floor.

It was nice to have baby items for our toddler (like a high chair, some toys and the crib), but the 15 CHF per day (not per night) was on the expensive side, IMO.

The room was super clean, it had all the facilities and was really comfy and nice. I asked if I could leave my luggage so I don't have to carry it around town until check-in, and the host said I could check-in earlier. The host greeted me and was approachable and professional. Stayed for only one night, wish I could stay more.
