I had a fantastic stay at Hotel Hottingen! The hotel is comfortable, clean, and perfectly located, making it an ideal choice for exploring Zurich. One of the best features, especially during the warmer months, is that the rooms are equipped with air conditioning—such a rare and welcome amenity in many European hotels! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready with great recommendations. The rooms were modern, cozy, and well-maintained, making it easy to relax after a day of sightseeing. Overall, Hotel Hottingen exceeded my expectations, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Zurich!

Charming hotel with great location, just a 15 min walk from the city center. Sparkling clean and cozy room. Comfy bed and pillows. The bathroom is spacious and very clean as well. They also include a kettle and complimentary tea, herbal infusions, and coffee as well as a small fridge in the room; a detail I really appreciate in a property. On a special note, I would like to thank Barbara, a staff member from the reception, for her kindness and her professionalism. I highly recommend Hotel Hottingen and will definitely stay here again if I ever come back to Zürich.

We stayed for two nights and are a family of 4. We landed in Zurich 8:30am and took a train to Zurich HB from the airport and then Tram 3 which drops you right outside the hotel (we bought a travel pass online before arriving in Zurich). It was very convenient. The hotel staff allowed us to check in early and we were in our room by 11am. The beds were very comfortable. The room comes equipped with all toiletries, a fridge, microwave, everything you need to make coffee, and also plates and silverware. We didn’t opt for breakfast, so can’t comment on that. There’s a nice bakery across the street from the hotel and some restaurants close by as well. It’s quiet and peaceful outside at night and we slept with a window slightly open for ventilation. It was very pleasant. We would happily stay here again.

This was probably the best single room I have stayed in. In the room, there was everything you need: minibar, kettle, tea/coffee, large enough safe for a laptop, robe, slippers, good desk for working, armchair, place & stand for a suitcase... Often single rooms are the worst rooms of a hotel in the noisiest place, but this room was in the upper floor and very quiet. And in Central Europe mid-range hotels often lack a kettle, minibar or a safe or all of them. The staff was friendly too. Not too far away from the railway station (a tram stop very close to the hotel) or the lake. I also liked the fact that they had put a glass carafe in the room encouraging guests to drink tap water which is excellent in Switzerland. Bottled water seems like waste in countries which have excellent tap water.

Pillows were too flat.

The Hotel is conveniently located near the Hottingerplatz tram station and is easily accessible from the main Zurich HB station. My family of four stayed there for 2 nights in May. The in-room facilities were good and the rooms were very comfortable. We opted for the breakfast package, which was excellent (some of the best freshly baked croissants I had in Switzerland). The staff was very helpful and courteous, and accommodated our request for an early check-in. They also helped us with disposable raincoats due to the rainy weather outside. We were able to move around easily and explore Zurich. Overall, a great stay and I would definitely recommend this hotel for families looking to explore Zurich.

The location was perfect as it was within walking distance to the University Hospital Zurich where I had my lecture. The hotel was also a minute walk from the tram stop of Hottingenplatz which is the same track that takes you to the City Center and Central Station. It is an easy ride from the Zurich Airport to the hotel; if you are familiar with the European train transportation system. The location is safe and I did not feel insecure walking even in the evening. The room was adequate and clean. You need to bring your own toiletries though as they provide just the basics. The breakfast was also adequate and had cold cuts, a variety of bread, and eggs. The beverages are also sufficient. To top it off, the staff were very welcoming, from the check-in to check-out and the woman in charge of the breakfast, they were all lovely! Especially the lady at the check-out who booked the taxi for me as well; I apologize that I can't remember her name at this time.

The pillows were too soft for me. But I know I could have asked for extra or a different pillow. There is nothing to complain about as the value for the money I paid for was met.

I stayed for one night and have no complaints. It was a very easy to find location, on the tram line but I walked from the hotel everywhere. It's a bit on a hill so if anyone doesn't like that, the tram is a good option. The staff is lovely (both ladies I spoke with were nice) and they held my bag until I came back in the evening. I didn't opt in for the breakfast but I saw a lot of people there. It was clean, and more than okay for my needs. I am not a fussy traveler and this room met my expectations. Love the big windows that my room had. Comfy bed but pillows are never good in any hotel, so there's that. I will go back here again next time I visit, esp. if it's a short work/personal visit. Easy access to Zurich Banhoff and central area. If you don't mind a bit of walking, this is perfect. It's very close to Kunthaus. Thank you to both the ladies!

I would like to leave a review about our superfine stay in Hotel Hottingen in Zürich. I travel a lot, that's why I can definitely say that this time I have been amazed by the quality of the service provided: according to all criteria — location, the district itself, friendliness and professionalism of the hotel staff, cleanliness and comfort of the room — the hotel gets 10 out of 10. - The location: it is a very important point. Zürich is a big city, and for us it was vital to find a hotel close to the main railway station — and not on a very noisy street. Hotel Hottingen is 15-20 mins walk from the station, also you can reach it by a tram, the tram stop is very close to the hotel. Speaking about the city centre and main sights like old town, Lindenhof, impressive churches (I personally recommend to explore their exterior and interior), it will be easy to reach it on foot, especially if you like to walk. - In our room we had everything we needed: we had a a kettle, tea and coffee amenities, a well-equipped bathroom. Moreover, on every floor you can find a mini kitchen, where you can warm up food in the microwave / cook something if you want. - I would like to thank the hotel managers who were in touch with us for every request we had :) On the day of arrival the hotel managers told us about nearest sights, hotel services and supermarkets. Near the reception one can also find coffee, tea, juice and water (and swiss chocolates :)) at any time for free. - We ordered breakfasts, and they were excellent and fresh. Besides the standard breakfast dishes like omelette, wonderful cheeses and so on, we got a chance to taste fruits, bakery (freshly baked bread was fantastic!) everything was soo delicious :) To sum up, we had a wonderful time in Zürich in this hotel. The stay in Switzerland was so brilliant that we were very sad to leave. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I booked a family room for 4. The room is big enough to accommodate 4 persons comfortably and what I liked most is that toilet and shower room are separated so 2 persons can use it at the same time. Additional bonus is that there was also an oven for us to make hot our food. Cutlery were also provided which is very rare for hotel. Location wise it's bit far from the central. We need to take tram 3 to Hottingerplatz but other than this, everything else was perfert!

Lovely clean and spacious room with a very comfortable bed and a lot of amenities. Our room had a balcony with great views over the City and mountains. Ample plug sockets and good WiFi. The staff are very helpful and extremely friendly. The location of the hotel is good with a tram stop very nearby and within walking distance of shops and restaurants. I would highly recommend this hotel.
