We recently stayed at the Plattenhof with our 7 month old son. The hotel was cute and quirky with lovely staff members who made us feel very welcome. They provided a cot free of charge and there was a high chair available for us to use in the restaurant. Breakfast was good and there was a range of options and coffee was available to make yourself or order from the team. There were also lots of baby appropriate foods available at breakfast. The hotel provided a list of activities to do and sights to see which was great and really helpful. The location was great and walking distance to the city center and there was also a tram stop just down the road which also went straight to the city.

The restaurant charges for tap water which we weren’t used to and didn’t realise until checking out.

Plattenhof is a decent hotel I must say...its location is good...one can walk to it from the main train station..takes around 15-20mins or take a tram no. 6 going towards zoo and get off at 4th station...its 1min walk from the bus stop. We walked around the place and saw the university area and a little further down is the old city...just loved it. Hotel has a resturant but its closed on weekends and holidays and so are all the other around the hotel so basically if u r staying here over the weekend, make sure to eat in the city before returning. No coffee shops or bakeries etc are nearby so it was difficult for us as it was weekend but then we booked the bf in hotel itself. However there is the small market called at walking distance...one can get some stuff from there or order via ubereats which we did one night. The breakfast at the hotel is fine but a little expensive and one has to make their own eggs...found it interesting and weird at the same time 😁 Food is ok but not a lot of varity. We had a double bed with sofa bed room booked for 3 people...the bed is comfortable butni found the sofa not so good...none of us could sleep well on that. The room was very neat and clean. Has a coffee machine and water kettle in the room. Toiletries were all present like towels and stuff. One can also ask for anti allergy pillows and duvets at the reception which I really liked coz all 3 of us were sneezing madly as there was high pollen the day we arrived. The staff is really nice and helpful. They ll provide u with all infos u need, or when u order from uber eats they ll arrange for plates and cutlery also...one can eat in the room or at the bar...another small highlight. Overall, our stay was pleasant. Thank you.

It was a very comfortable, environment-oriented hotel. The personal staff was at the time of arrival, and when I came to the hotel at 9.30 pm, and the chicken was closed, he offered soup with some bread and fruit. It was a fantastic gesture, and I did not expect that. I have 10/10 points for this person in the reception (unfortunately, I don't have the name in mind). It's very close to the university hospital and the university, in case you have to attend conferences there. On the second day, I had dinner in the restaurant in the hotel, and it is very advisable, and the food was ver delicious

Very good vegan breakfast options, beautiful breakfast room, and location close to University of Zurich, the funicular up to Dolder area, but also the centre of Zurich. All staff were polite and most very friendly. Yoga mat and requested fridge in our room were great. Lovely Seder (made in Zurich products) in the bathroom. Hotel also operates a vegetarian take-away with vegan options at lunch.

The bathroom is small but not too bad.

Nicely decorated hotel and rooms. The room came with a very modern bathroom including rain shower. Bed was comfortable. We did enjoy a nice breakfast too. Location is good, by the way, as it is in a nice neighborhood and at walking distance from the Hauptbahnhof / city centre. It’s great to know this place for my next trip to Zurich. :)

No issue for us as we arrived in a rainy day, but I could imagine that it can get quite warm in the rooms. Luckily a fan is already present!

It's a good hotel and a great value for money for Zurich. I came for a conference and I liked the location close to the University. Pretty quiet and relaxing. Good Italian food at the restaurant.

I believe the room had no air conditioner, but since it was unusually cool and rainy during my stay in the end of July, it wasn't an issue for me - I slept with an open window. Beds are too soft for me, but it's individual.

It was clean, and had a great bath that filled up quickly - the water was lovely and hot, and the water pressure was amazing. The staff were also very lovely, and offered us a free welcome drink when we arrived. Similarly, we were given free bottles of water upon checkout which was so helpful as the weather was warm.

The breakfast seemed a bit dwindling, even though we arrived in good time - it seems that it is first come, first served, so things such as the cheese and meat were nearly all gone. We assumed they’d be topped up as time went on, but this didn’t seem to be the case. We also couldn’t figure out how to work the coffee machine, so stuck with tea! Also, we didn’t realise that it would be two single beds to make a double, and there was a gap down the middle.

Hotel meet our expectations, clean room, quiet place, walking distance to center, friendly staff and good breakfast, we liked very much as family, i recommend everyone. Zurich is not a cheap place, hotel's price was fair and five star from us.

I don't have any negative comments, hotel meets the expectations, if i say something negative there should be a signboard with hotel name :) not easy to find the entrance at first.

Nice, comfortable place, good people, nice bar. Excellent location. I would stay here again. There were a couple of nice stores around the corner (down the hill) including a quick takeout store (Avec?) that had good croissants. The tram was just nearby. And of course, the ETH Zurich.

Not a "luxury" experience (no fridge in room, my coffee cup wasn't cleaned until I left it on the floor by the bed, make your own eggs at breakfast... minor things that made me wonder why I wasn't paying a lower price. But this was Zurich...)

The location is good. It takes only 3-4 minutes walk to tram station and also it’s quite easy to walk to the landmark of Zurich. The hotel offered welcome drink which we can choose such as water, beer or coffee. On the check out date, they also gave us a bottle of water which is very nice of them. The room is well decorated with high ceiling that makes us feel comfy.

When you travel as a couple and one of you wants to use the bathroom at night, the light may disturb your partner.
