I really liked the location. My room was also great.

My father's room has a weird slope in the floor, which nobody told us about in advance. I also would appreciate some other areas to hang out other than the room itself. The reception area and the 'library' were not very inviting to hang out. I also did not like the breakfast area - mostly high chairs that are not great for older people (my father was 80).

Location in terms of being very central and access to most popular locations within walking distance. Friendly staff and room size/features. Coffee machine and mini lounge area next to reception open 24/7

Location in terms of carrying luggage. You have to keep in mind that you have to carry your luggage up a mini hill and a bit of pebble rock street.

Our room was on the 4th floor just below a staff only area - not sure what they were doing but it was very noisy above us late at night and early in the morning a couple of times. We stayed just after the worldwide IT outage and their system via booking.com was hacked. I was sent a link asking more my credit card details via booking.com which was phishing. While this is not the directly the hotels fault it would have been nice to have an apology that this had happened.

The hotel is renovated and beautifully designed — clean, pleasant, and very comfortable. The staff was friendly and highly attentive. Our rooms were modern and nicely decorated. The hotel is located on Marktgasse, a central street in the Old Town filled with shops, restaurants, and cafés, yet the hotel itself remained quiet. There was also a coffee corner at the reception available for guests throughout the day.

We booked two single rooms. One was spacious and convenient, while the other had a different layout and felt a bit cramped, with very narrow space around the bed. There was no coffee machine in the room. The streets around the hotel were under construction, so no taxi was able to reach the hotel — despite the reception assuring us otherwise. As a result, my 80-year-old mother had to walk all the way to Limmatquai Street, through a narrow passage, including both a descent and an uphill walk.

This is a lovely place to base yourself when visiting Zurich. Our experience was excellent, and staff were very accommodating - particularly when I realised I hadn’t booked the twin bed set up we required, which they sorted out in a flash. The room was more than spacious, and the hotel has an air of history, which is what I was looking for. The bathrooms are done very well - we had a separate shower/vanity and toilet/vanity, which is very useful when traveling with a teenager! We had a great time exploring the old town, and it was especially pretty at Christmas, with markets, lights and a generally festive feeling in the air.

It could be tricky to reach if you have mobility challenges, or have a lot of luggage and not enough hands! There is a pedestrian zone around the hotel, which is great once you’re settled. I am personally an amputee, and found it ok to reach on foot.

Centrally located, newish, well maintained, quiet at night. Staff was friendly and welcoming and offered an extra hour stay at check-out. Breakfast is served in the in-house cafe with good selection of everything essential.

A charming hotel with exceptional staff in the centrally located and yet peacefully quiet. The entire experience was wonderful. The cutest room, clean, and super comfortable bed, and friendly staff. I loved the fresh drinking water station on each floor. There are so many nice and thoughtful touches that creates this happy place. I highly recommend this hotel and its staff.
