The hotel is excellently located right in the city center. You can reach the luxury stores by crossing two small bridges. There are plenty of dining and drinking options nearby, and the scenery along the Limmat River is particularly beautiful. The staff on the first floor are extremely nice and friendly. They offered a great deal of help. I will definitely stay here again next time I come.

It's a relatively ancient building. The elevator is quite small, only allowing one person to carry one or two pieces of luggage at a time. Others have to take the stairs. However, this is something that can be overcome.

A beautiful boutique hotel in a terrific location in the centre of Zurich. Our room was spacious, extremely clean, with lovely artwork and the hotel was run by caring, friendly staff. There was an issue with our tv not being able to access English speaking channels and the front of house staff member (sorry, I can’t recall the manager’s name!) resolved the issue promptly & kindly. 😊 The breakfast was also excellent, good variety with great quality produce from around the region with very great welcoming hospitality. Would definitely stay again!

It’s always good to revisit a hotel you stayed in before (this my third) to ascertain if they have kept up their standards. Helmhaus is in a prime (but quiet) location adjacent to old town Zurich accessible to transport and easy walking distance to a number of sites. Many restaurants for every taste are nearby. It’s small and quiet, (24 rooms) employs an excellent staff who are welcoming and knowledgeable. The rooms are not large but the layout is efficient and comfortable. Shower with a full tub, great water pressure and plenty of hot water are definite pluses. Helmhaus may be in contention for the world’s smallest elevator (one passenger + luggage) but it does the job. A rapid turnaround laundry service is available for those in need, I arrived at 1300h and had it back by 1800h. The breakfast room and the adjacent relaxing sitting area are among the most pleasant I have encountered, with superb service offering a good selection of eggs, juices, breads, fruits, cheeses, meats, yogurt, etc. and excellent coffee, brewed to your specifications. As testimony to their helpful and stable staff I recognized two key members that were there 6 years ago. Finally high functioning Wi-Fi access.

No negatives to mention, this hotel is best suited to single travelers and couples. They continue to perform at a high level of service. There a cheaper venues, but not with this quality of service.

Hotel Helmhaus is in the perfect location. It is easy to reach by public transportation from the train station and is in a pedestrian area with lots of restaurants nearby. The hotel is small and comfortable with friendly staff. The bathroom and room amenities were nice. The breakfast was quite good, but can be crowded. There is 24 hour coffee and tea in the breakfast room, but no coffee in the room.

The room is a little loud. We were on the third floor in the front and needed to use white noise to drown out the street noise. The hallway noise and the noise from the people staying above us were also noticeable.

Excellent boutique hotel, perfect in every way for our requirements. Safe location, lovely party of the Old Town, walking distance to lovely river side attractions including restaurants. We highly recommend Mere Catherine and Restaurant Le Dézaley Zürich. Hotel reception staff were the best - super friendly, very knowledgeable and helpful, email communications from England beforehand were always well received and prompt responses. Rooms spacious light airy bright stylish, not cluttered, sophisticated and smart decor. room facilities perfect, lovely bathrooms big showers, very comfy bed, air con perfect. Very peaceful at night. Breakfast was DELICIOUS - fabulous selection, perfectly cooked hot food, very lovely friendly breakfast staff. We were made to feel so comfortable by everyone, it was a pleasure to stay, we will return if we are in Zurich again, highly recommend this hotel

Nothing to dislike

This boutique hotel is conveniently located in Zürich, very close to the Limmat river, tram lines, eateries, attractions, and walking distance to Zürich Hauptbahnhof. Every staff person we interacted with were friendly and professional. Breakfast (included with our stay) was simple, yet delicious. Coffee, tea, and water available at all hours. Our Double Room was spacious and very well appointed.

There is nothing I can fault about Hotel Helmhaus.

The cost is steep. You get what you pay for, but the conversion of currency and the high prices of the city, makes it an expensive stay.

My 4th stay at one of my all-time favorite boutique hotels. Multiple return bookings speaks to the issue, “Worth the price of admission”. Little has changed, this small well-located boutique hotel continues to maintain its high level of service. Here are the Key Points Summarized: 1. Comfortable beds + excellent water pressure 8. 15-minute walk to Zurich main train station 9. Directly on two tram lines and a 5-minute walk to others

Helmhaus remains in contention for the world’s smallest elevator (one passenger + luggage) but it does the job…until the day of my departure when it was temporarily “Out of order”. A first I all my trips but notable in a six-story building for the mobility challenged. No doubt this was corrected in short-order. Wish the room had bathtub.

The staff at the reception and especially the breakfast ladies are very friendly. Breakfast was lovely and prepared with heart. Food is fresh, clean and new small items on different days. Location is extremely convenient in the heart of the city centre, close to sights, shopping and restaurants. Rooms were clean and quiet. Our room for two was a corner room which was of very good size with a slight open view between the two adjacent buildings. They provided a small pillow of organic materials which I found really helped sleep.

There really was not anything we didn't like. But it would be an even better experience if the air con could go a bit cooler. It is however not a complaint.

Great staff. I wasn't expecting to get a little treat for my birthday. THANK YOU for that. The hotel is very well located within walking distance from main attractions and seems recently renovated. I liked the art book explaining the paintings hanging in the rooms (great addition).

Probably, I would add a bit more variety on the breakfast buffet, but in general, not a big deal.
