Really friendly and helpful staff. - Great location, close to the lake, there's a small train station just down the road and the main Zug station is about a 15 min walk away. The surroundings are really peaceful. - The free breakfast was tasty, loved the inclusion of meats/cheeses. - The hostel was really clean, it has simple facilities but everything you need for a short stay. Overall, great value for money!

The pillows were a bit lumpy and not too comfortable. - If you're staying at the same time as a school trip, it can get a little noisy.

The Hostel is ideally situated just a short walk from Zug Railway Station. It is very welcoming and spacious. We had a room with our own bathroom and it was spotlessly clean. There was some noise from other guests (a school or college trip I imagine) but it wasn’t for long. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice. Lovely evening swim in the lake. I am an older guest (65) and I would highly recommend this hostel. We will be using hostels again in Switzerland.

I liked the attitude of the staff. it was raining and I was tired from the road, tea could only be taken at dinner, which was over, but the man at the reception offered me free tea. that was very kind of him! Thank you very much, it warmed me up! This is the third time I have stayed in this hostel and, as always, everything is impeccable! magical mattress, cozy bedding, cleanliness!

breakfasts have become poorer compared to my previous visits. but this is the cheapest place to stay in this wonderful town, so I’m very happy with that!

Location is good walk about 5mins from train station. I've stayed here 3 nights , the first night very lound with the kids running and close the door since 9.00-11.30 pm., Staffs are friendly. Breakfast is good.

They're not fill hand soap in toilet and only one toilet on the floor which have 10 rooms. No kitchen , they have microwave for guests.

Whilst the price (€60 for a bed in a shared dorm) might seem like extortion, it's cheap for the region, as is made up for by the breakfast which would cost you €25 anywhere else. I arrived late after a missed train, and staff left me a key/instructions with no hassle.

The room has a bit of a musty smell, but this went after opening the window (I imagine that could be a problem in winter though). There are only x2 shower and toilet units on a floor which must have 20+ beds, and with breakfast 7-9 and checkout at 10, this means you likely need to wait in line. There were no towels, and not even a soap dispenser in the showers. This is an old building, and an authentic means of reliving the coldness of 1960's architecture and hostelling, whilst paying 2020 prices.

Super helpful staff! As we arrived very late, we were worried about how to get access to our room. However, after the reception was closed for the day, the staff left our access card available for us in an envelope strategically placed to make sure we found it. That was a great surprise and we were extremely grateful for the gesture. The building is a short walk from the train station, so ideal if you travel with train. Room and bathroom were clean and comfortable and the facility provided options for breakfast in the morning. Great value for money.

Unlike some hostels, this place has a lift! It’s clean and comfortable. Close to a small train station. There isn’t a special or an unforgettable place to come but definitely a nice play to stay while traveling.

The staff when I got there was somehow mean to me. He asked me my name and since my name in other language has confused people in Switzerland so many times, I didn’t directly reply. Then he got impatient and seemed annoyed. Though another staff on the next day was nice!

The staff, is exceptionally friendly and helpful about anything. Zug is an absolutely undervalued place but actually impressively beautiful, I mean impressively beautiful.

I arrived late (aroudn 23h00), the outside door was locked and I had to rely on some guests to let me in. When I got in, the key to my room was waiting for me at the reception, so no problem!

As the title includes the word youth, you would expect it to be the typical hostel full of students traveling the globe 🌎 But it’s not!!! From students to families with kids and professionals – you can find everything! I can’t recommend this hostel highly enough. Super clean, with comfortable beds, not crowded and with an amazing variety in breakfast – best hummus I had in my life! Fantastic views partly to the lake and in walking distance to the train station (approx. 7 minutes). Nice and safe area. The rooms have excellent sound proofing, so you are not disturbed by external noise when in the room. I booked a bed in a 6-bed room and the privacy and space I had during my stay in the hostel, I haven’t even had in 5 star hotels. Will be back definitely!

If you are a late sleeper be advised that the cleaning 🧹 staff does come in the room in the morning until 10:00 regardless. But for a couple of minutes.
