I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff spoke English and was very helpful and friendly. There are so many small details that make you feel at home. While checking in they asked for my breakfast preferences and prepared breakfast boxes for each room in the morning (pickup earliest at 8:30 am). The room was clean and spacious and the design also very simple, yet relaxing with white/beige clean design. Furthermore, there is a common area downstairs with tea, coffee, microwave, sink and couch/ tables to enjoy some food. You can also rent a bicycle free of charge. In terms of location, you can get to the ocean in a few minutes as the accommodation is across the street from the sea (stone beach), which is nice. Also, it's a 10 min walk to the night market and 15 min walk to the city centre with laundromat, 711 and supermarkets as well as restaurants.

Excellent location by the seaside. Free bicycles made travel around town convenient. Free coffee from the coffee machine was delicious. The design of the hotel is tasteful and unique, and the hotel made wonderful use of local products in their offered beverages and other amenities for purchase. There are only 6 rooms in the whole building, which means the house was never crowded or noisy. There isn’t a 24/7 staff present at the desk, but all of our questions were resolved via phone call immediately.

Bathroom has a curtain instead of a door.

Lovely ocean-side B&B in Hualien. We loved our night there - the receptionist Bonnie was lovely, the room was large, airy, and full of natural light, the AC worked well, comfortable bed, & a great shower room with a separate bath tub. They provide lovely soap and shampoo. We wished we could have stayed another night! There's also a great common area downstairs which is perfect for remote working/trip planning. Parking is plentiful & free as well.

There must be a military airbase nearby as we heard a few planes go by overnight and in the AM which disrupted our sleep but that has nothing to do with the hotel & would affect the entire area. They provide earplugs downstairs but we only realized after that that's what they must have been for.

Lovely room, staff could communicate in English, gave clear instructions on how to check in myself due to late arrival. Good free coffee machine and drinking water. Great location by the beach in a quiet residential area. Easy to find by bicycle with Google maps. Did not tell me off for keeping my bicycle in the room (I did make sure it never touched the floor by carrying it in and putting tissues under all contact points).

For breakfast in a country renowned for it's food I was a bit surprised to be given only two options for Macdonald's takeaways!

Great location right by the sea, with a lovely view of the ocean. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. It’s more like a small apartment than a traditional hotel – you get your own key and there’s no front desk staff present all the time, which made it feel more like home. The place was clean, spacious, and nicely decorated. Breakfast was tasty too – a really relaxing stay overall.

Rooms were spacious, clean and modern. Breakfast was bagels which were tasty! Walking distance to the night market. Free bikes!

Desk was not hosted even during “manned” hours. Had to wait until someone arrived to let us in. Same when we left, not able to call a taxi etc.

This was one of our favourite stays in Taiwan! The staff were very accomodating and friendly during our stay there. I really liked the decor of the place which was simple but cozy. Because it was located right by the beach, we borrowed bikes from the accomodation at no cost and had a great time cycling along the well paved, idyllic bike trail. A short walk away was also lovely Japanese izakaya restaurant. I would highly recommend this place for any couples, small group of friends or small families who are travelling to Hualien for a relaxing stay near the ocean.

Great staff. There was a mix up on the number of people, and she was very generous and helpful. Beautiful location. Very clean.

Beds were a bit solid, but that's what I've found with nearly all hotels in Taiwan. Maybe we Americans like our beds too soft?

Location, room & the view was great; very cosy, very clean.

Internet was a joke and extremely slow. Staff was - while mostly friendly - not that helpful or interested in giving tips about visiting the surrounding areas or anything else. The supposed breakfast was as much of a joke as the internet-speed. AC is the general areas is turned off by staff after they leave in the evening, so it becomes extremely, extremely sticky by the morning.

The staff was really helpful and friendly. They speak English. OS the Salt offers a great combination of hotel quality rooms and the convenience of a hostel style dining area. Both are very comfortable. They have great coffee! The property has a great location and is very clean.
