Liked the breakfast cos there were vegetables and fruit, bread & waffles as well as the local breakfast. Some of it was served in a bento box and the rest was buffet style. The room is clean and quiet. The staff is very helpful and courteous. They greet guests with a smile and could answer all our queries.

The room was advertised as one with a mountain view so that was what we expected. However, we could not just see the mountain alone. We could also see the other buildings in front of it. That was disappointing. The key card for the room had a magnetic stripe on it. The first time we used it was difficult cos we had to try many times before we finally got the hang of it. That was frustrating. Hope they can change their key cards to the modern ones. Had to pay the hotel cost in cash. We don't like to bring a lot of cash with us. Hope they can accept payment by Visa or Apple Pay in the future. That would be more convenient.

The manager and staff were fantastic. The hotel is in a good location. The staff were very friendly and helpful with directions and travel times. Breakfast was really nice with lots of options. There is a nice space downstairs to work with a better WiFi connection.

The room was without a window which made it hard to be in without light and fresh air but the aircon helped. WiFi in the room kept disconnecting and loosing signal. The manager apologised and did try to fix it. It improved for a short while.

Very satisfied with the booking - Ita Thao takes a little while to get going in the morning so the good and varied hotel breakfast (a bento box with fruit, vegetables, boiled or steamed egg, mashed potato, and some sort of protein each day, plus toast/spreads, congee, and curry with rice in a buffet format, and coffee and milk tea on the side) was very helpful. (You tell the front desk the day before which of three various morning slots you would like to eat at - we never had an issue getting our preferred time). Our mountain view room on a high floor felt very spacious, had plenty of space to work at a desk, and the shower pressure and heat were very good even at the top of the building. Wifi also worked well in our experience. Staff were very friendly, making sure we could orient ourselves within the city and warning us to keep the relatively early closure of many restaurants in mind, and the location is excellent - steps from the night market, close to many bike rentals and the pier water activities, while also being quiet. We did not have a car so parking wasn't relevant to us, although I imagine it would be a bit challenging that close to the night market.

No real complaints! It might be nice eventually to have small safes in the rooms, and travelers in other situations may want to be mindful that double rooms seem to come with just one key, not two. For us neither of these was a real problem, we really enjoyed our stay.

Room was clean. We had a good size quadruple room, with a view of the lake but also overlooking the neighbour’s backyard. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom good size but would be considered small for some. Amenities in the room are standard. Breakfast - excellent. Bento box with vegetables, mashed potatoes, fruits and egg (steamed or hard boiled) with a piece of meat - different each day. Also on offer at the buffet, rice and Japanese (sweet) curry, either porridge or soup, bread and rolls, tea & coffee. Chinese tea available all day on in the breakfast/dining room. Location - excellent. Literally in the town centre, walking distance to the pier. Plenty of eateries. Staff are friendly and extremel helpful. Efficient and prompt and quick response. Tickets for the cruise on the lake available at reception.

very nice and helpful staff, rich and tasty breakfast, free parking (they even let us stay after check-out but we didn't use it eventually), the location was great (few steps from the lake on one side and the street with food and everything you need on the other side. the room was big, well lit and very clean, the bed was good and comfy and even the soap and shampoo were great. front desk answered our questions and suggested where to go and what to experience - very good experience in the cute Ita Thao in Sun Moon Lake

Generous and helpful staff. Big, very clean room with a comfy bed. Big shower with very good water pressure. Excellent AC. Plenty of horizontal space and enough outlets for device charging. Great breakfast in bento boxes plus other hot/cold foods on the breakfast island. In the afternoon, they put out tea and candy. The breakfast seating area can later be used for surfing or researching your next stop (would be rude to other guests to work there and take/make work phone calls). Great location is 1/2 block from where food stalls begin and 1 block from the pier. Highly recommended!

Not their fault, but Booking.com says they take credit cards but they only accept cash. Just be aware of this when you arrive… and you will have a great stay here!!

Great, filling breakfast if you are willing to mostly eat what is considered lunch-type food in the West. Kind staff, comfortable room with a big window, and quieter than properties on the main roads. Quiet at night.

Not too quiet during the day with noises from the street, although probably better than most in SML. You'd have to go on the outskirts of town (or on a higher floor - I was on the 2nd floor) to have a more peaceful time.

The hotel was nice and the room was spacious and clean. The beds were also big and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful! The location is accessible and calmer than the other side of the lake. Breakfast is included and is delicious. There was a set meal and a buffet with fresh fruit, waffles, toast, rice, curry, soup, coffee and tea. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone!

The hotel is located very close to the lake, in a nice area full of street food booths and close to Sun Moon ropeway, which is an attraction that I highly recommend. The room itself was exceptionally clean and spacious. The breakfast was served in an elegant form of a fancy breakfast box, but there was buffet available as well in case the box was not enough. The staff were helpful and responsive on how to commute to the property. Great value for money.

Clean and comfortable room with slippers, nice bathroom, and comfortable bed. Breakfast was filling, and staff were very responsive. Our room had no window, but there are great views within 5 minutes of the hotel’s door. A round trip ticket on the shuttle boat gave us passage to the hotel on one day with a return 2 days later, which was very convenient and cost effective. Hotel is within walking distance to ferries at the pier, the Ita Thao night market, and the Sun Moon Lake ropeway.

The walls are thin, admitting lots of noise throughout the night and early morning.
