Location is amazing, right within ximending so it’s a short walk to all the famous eateries and shops! Room is clean too and staff refills the shampoos and soaps daily. Room designs are chic too.

Room is slightly dark. We were there during the recent earthquake and all our rooms had ceiling spot lights falling down even though they were supposedly plastered to the ceiling so it was pretty dangerous. Hotel could also be more informative during the earthquake for foreigners who don’t know what to expect.

Location was ideal. Second stay at the hotel and I still don't see group tours, which is the prime factor for us to select this hotel. Staff's friendliness was the last deciding factor. Room was clean and had almost everything we need.

Breakfast spread is really unmentionable. They can only be qualified as food, nothing more. Being located in a city that is famous for their delicacies, we were quite amazed when we cannot name a single thing on our plate that's good. Just a word of advice to the hotel, you don't need to have a wonderful spread for breakfast, you only need to have 1 signature. Aircondition is centralised, which left us no control if it gets too cold or too hot. The hotel is on a street that closes up after certain time, so be prepared to walk a little to pick up point for uber and transport.

Central location with easy access to the mrt and shops

Hotel does not have a gym. If you book private transfer or Uber ride you will need to take a short walk to the main road which mostly isn’t a problem but may be inconvenient if you have a lot of luggage.

The room was big enough for big luggage, which is good. The place is also in the middle of Ximending. It is convenient to go anywhere within Ximending. Walkable to Ximen Train Station and even to Carrefour supermarket if you don't mind 15min-20min walk. Housekeeping will replenish the toilet roll, towels, and toiletries. Best was room have 3pin plug so u do not need the universal 2pin plug. Hotel staff was well verse in English, helpful and very friendly.

Sadly, toilet no bidet spray. When they cleaned the room, I was expecting even the bedsheet, but i saw the stain from day one still there, so it seems they only tucked it in and only tidied the bed. The wifi in the room is weak. Barely even use the wifi, we had to rely on our own data network.

Location is perfect and super convenient. The hotel is near the Ximending night market and all the shops. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and professional. The room was larger than expected so that was a pleasant surprise. Hotel breakfast was decent.

Even though we selected "Pay at the proprerty", there was a hold placed on my card prior to arrival - this was a hotel policy that was not communicated by Booking.com. I wish we had been notified beforehand

Room decor is very basic, kind of boutique hotel style. Furniture looks cheap. Fortunately, the room is very clean that outweighs the "minimalist" decor. Other floors of the building are under renovation. It doesn't affect your sleep but it definitely affects your meals at the hotel cafe. Otherwise, the cafe is a jice place to hang out.

Not sure where went wrong as I booked the room for 2 pax but there were only - breakfast pre-paid … so everyday 1 pax from 1 room got to eat else where or pay for the breakfast

IT is close to being a 5 star even before we check in .We were given a better room wth a bidet ,a qibla and a Quran when we inform them we were muslims . They even provided a halal breakfast on request . We had delicious beef ramen or seafood fried rice or fried bee hoon plus the eggs ,salads , fruits and bread section were also open for all. Must try the focacia bread. Most of the staff spoke English and they were clear and helpful all the time. The buttermilk cafe downstairs had the best carrot cake I have ever tasted. Security is good and location is very good at 1 end of the XIMENDING night market. There is a good Indonesian restaurant 10 mins away. We will definitely stay at inexpensive AMBA ximending again!

a warm rug in front of the bed is a personal preference . More instruction on how to increase the room temperature when the night became very cold.

The breakfast and the alacarte menu was good
