As usual it was a pleasure to stay in Sophia Hotel. The staff is outstanding and the room is great 👍🏻 there is hot water, AC and breakfast included. Super clean and comfy, Also the TV is working perfectly. We always stay here when coming to Dar, highly recommended!

Surprise a light breakfast was included and the reception could not tell me …it’s a good sign they obviously want tete guess to have a good time … the room is very spacious and very clean … great Location near the bus system, markets, supermarket, bank and also opposite a park … and very good for money

Lot of stairs to get to the room… but I suppose nothing they can do about it … good exercise I suppose

It was the cleanest accommodation we've been in Tanzania (and we travelled the country for 3 weeks). Very good price. Big room, with a/c, big bed, hot water, they give you towels for free and flip-flops for the shower. The location was perfect, near a local market (you can hear it in the morning) and a mall. There was people working there at anytime to attend us. The staff was really nice always willing to help. We could keep our own food in the fridge in the breakfast room. My advice to you (not related with the hotel) is to book always an official transport because we had an issue with a diver (use the app or ask in the hotel to call a taxi or bajaji).

Nothing, I would make suggestions not complaints.

It was actually pretty good value for money. They put me in a room on the 4th floor with a balcony which was great! The hotel is close to the ferry but I personally didn't really like that area. They offered a complimentary small breakfast (toast and tea/coffee). They also allowed me to leave my luggage there for a couple of hours.

The only downside is that there was no hot water initially so I had to have someone look at it. Also, the pictures on booking made it seem as if there were seats in the room but they're placed just outside.

The room was clean, the air-conditioning great, plenty of hot water, the bed was quite reasonable. WiFi ok. The hotel is in a great location, our room was quiet , and 10 minutes walk from the ferry. The area seemed safe. All this for £14 per night, is fantastic value. The hotel can also organise a taxi to the airport for 25,000 Ts. Definitely stay here again.

For the price nothing much. There is no lift though, which might be a problem for some.

We arrived early at 10 AM in the morning, hours before check-in and were provided with a room just 30 minutes later. The location is excellent in downtown DAR and in walking distance from the ferry station. The staff is really really nice and helpful and the rooms have A/C and are en-suites. The hotel provides coffee, tea, and a light breakfast in the morning and has a balcony from which you can observe the buzzing city life of DAR. It definitely has an excellent price value ratio and we would always come back to Sofia Hotel. Asante Sana!

You should bring shampoo since there is only soap and bug spray if you are sensitive since there are no mosquito nets but that shouldn’t keep you from not booking this great hotel!

Especially the staff was extraordinary. Mr James and his colleague at the reception, so open hearted and helpful with every question I had. And also Mr. Ali you can look for if you need something.

Well there was one thing I did not like but the hotel or staff is not responsible for that. Across the street in a little park there was a kind of festival going on during my stay. So they played real loud music with a lot of bass from 8:00 AM in the morning until 7 PM. This was really too much for me but I think it was only bad luck cause it should not be whole year round. But in general I can recommend this hotel, good price -quality!

Right in the middle of town! Many shops around. Mall just up the road. Convenient to ferry to Zanzibar. The staff were very accommodating. We were able to check in early, helped us with luggage up stairs (no elevator), and they had the ac running when we entered the room to help with the Dar es Salem heat (both times we stayed there) The staff also helped us book taxis at a fare price. would recommend the hotel anytime😊

Excellent value for money for my type of travel where I just want a clean safe and central base to explore from

I was on the fourth floor and there is no lift which was not a problem for me but just for the record. The shower was poor. The water pressure very low and hot water patchy.

Located close to JKICC. Offered also the arrangement to be pick to and from the airport. Staff in the hotel could at least speak in English which is one of the international language. You are doing well keep doing the good things.

Location of the hotel could offer opportunities to walk around to good places around town. Highly networked. I had a very good stay. Keep it up
