We had a great stay. The entire property is so lush, green and jungely. A true oasis and very well arranged. It is a large ptopery, but thanks to the different areas it doesn’t feel large. Our room was spacious, beds comfy. The fan was sufficient for the nights. Bathroom was small, but sufficient and clean. Wifi was not great in the room, but outside it was well working. The pools are a great plus in the heat of Zanzibar. The breakfast was a bit underwhelming, but there were not so many guests. Staff is friendly. You walk around 15 mins to the beach or local restaurants.

Great inside territory, beautiful plants and 3 swimming pools, one is very suitable for small kids. Lovely bar area with some evening entertainments. Nice meals cooked at the restaurant for lunch and dinner, well priced and delicious. The hosts did the amazing job in building this accommodation. Even though it's quite far away from the beach and other sights, the owners made sure you have some things to do in the area: yoga class, good food at the restaurant, evening music at the bar. The owners are also very knowledgeable of the island, so they can help you to arrange things.

The breakfast was very limited and rather small portions (vs other lodges and hotels on the island). There is no coffee at the breakfast at all, only some strange drink with Cichórium taste that is served instead. Later I learnt that one of the owners doesn't like coffee, which I assume is the reason for this, but it shouldn't mean that guest should not drink it as well.

What a fantasic place! I loved the 3 swimming pools that were fairly deep (an adult like me could just about stand in most places, but when swimming my feet didn't touch the ground, which I loved! There is a sunny swimming pool, a less sunny swimming pool, which is a bit cooler and all set in lush jungle. The owners and their staff are super friendly and we had a fantastic time! We are planning on going back for longer.

Sometimes, as everywhere in Africa, electricity was off for a bit, but there was always electricity and internet somewhere. I don't consider this a problem, but if you are wedded to your phone and internet, just be aware that you may need to work from the extremely lovely and comfortable common areas at times.

The way me and my family (my husband and our 2 boys of age 12 and 15) were welcomed and received was exceptionally warm and friendly. The communication with the two owner's , Paco and his lovely wife Maria and his little son Paul was perfect, easy going and heartfelt at the same time. Paco and Maria and all of the stuff members were so welcoming and friendly and you could ask them anything at any given time. We want to thank everybody for their great and personalized service and their excellent food and superbe fresh juices and smoothies ;))) The place is a real pearl if you enjoy a clean and beautiful place and easy going people with no attitud. We clearly more than enjoyed our 10 day stay there. It's beyond beautiful with all the plantation and good vibes. The place is very kids friendly if you should be travelling with children. Paco and Maria offer various activities like swimming with wild Dolphins in the sea (in the early hours though) and other interesting activities depending on what you're looking for. Otherwise doing a Yoga session with Maria or chilling in the bungalow by the pool or restaurant area will just perfectly do too! We highly recommend this place and we will definitely be staying at their place again if we should ever have the opportunity to return again! There's much more to say about our stay but we hope that for now this will help future guest for orientation if they should decide to stay at their place!

Honestly there was nothing to dislike

Everything, the place has a magical atmosphere, spiritual and laid back, like in a tropical garden, my room was top, super big with a terrace overlooking palms and one of the pools. Good food every morning, help from everyone there and the massage of Maria in their super cosy spa was something I will never. forget, one of the best of my life. Maria and Paco are a Spanish couple who owns the place and make it unforgettable for everyone. If you have a chance don't miss to go there!

Nothing! The only thing you could say it's that the beach is 10 minutes away but a good walk in the morning and in the evening is what you must do! And you see also how real Zanzibar people live, so it was good it was like that!💪

Wonderful chill spaces throughout the property. Several different places to lounge on comfy couches in the shade. The yoga space was a huge plus-- nice to have room to stretch out. The pools were nice and perfect for a short swim or quick dip. Decent wifi, too. The kids loved the numerous cats and the barefoot walking ambiance

For longer stays, a bit more variety on both the breakfast and main menu would be wonderful. Pools occasionally had bugs, some of which bit. Power outages were a significant problem. They often lasted hours or would happen over and over. Lack of air conditioning in the room was a challenge for several members of our group, especially when coupled with nightly power outages. The location is quiet but has little to offer in the surrounding town.

Paco and Maria are extremely welcoming hosts! Their little oasis has a great vibe and we loved our stay there. We were lucky to be there a bit out of season apparently (mid September), so the whole place with 3 swimming pools was almost entirely for us (we even got an offer for a free upgrade to a stunning brand new bungalow, though we turned it down since we wanted to have 2 separate beds). Paco is the soul of the place with his never ending energy. We were extremely grateful when the first morning he noticed that our car had a flat tire... He offered to help us out and by the time we came back from the beach, the car was already fixed at a ridiculously low price of 20k TZS! They were also helping us to organize a snorkeling trip (which we had to cancel due to very rough sea) and overall were always available. Would be very happy to come back!

The beach itself was extremely quiet - we found one place with a few sunbeds and 1 or 2 restaurants, but we would prefer a bit more lively area to have more choice and having at least a few other people around (there was literally NOBODY the 2 days we went to the beach, so it felt a bit awkward).

Incredible place, starting from the bungalows, they are so comfortable with big rooms and beds, and everything perfectly decorated and you can find different swimming pools and ambients in the same space. The owners Paco and María are always available to help you in everything you could need. I wanted to highlight they have the coldest beers in all Zanzibat, something not easy to find lol, I have been in 4 different places apart of here, so I can compare it with others places we visited.before And finally the last day we decided to receive an incredible massage also in their installations,. So definitely I highly recommend this precious hotel and meet with Paco and Maria, they will always will try to make your stay in the best way possible.

Maria and Paco created a wonderful oasis full of tropic plants, so many comfortable areas to relax with three pools and a good restaurant with delicious, healthy food and individually created rooms. Everything is so beautiful and done with love. Their staff is very friendly and you can feel how they appreciate each other. I can highly recommend Marias Yoga class in the morning and the drumming sessions offered by Janja - it was so much fun to try! They are supporting good local people like him. You can book a massage there done by local women - very relaxing - and the snorkeling trip and swimming with dolphins was great, too. Such a great place to stay and in the low season it's very quiet. It is a very cozy and wonderful place, full of nice spots to relax! my bungalow was super spacious, very clean and wonderfully decorated. I had yoga classes every day in an ideal place and really enjoyed it so much! The food was very good as well, try the zucchini pasta and the poke bowl! Everyone in salama was very kind, making you feel like home. Maria and Paco are the best hosts ever. I really hope you to come back one day

It is a 10 min walk from the beach of matemwe, but in any case you couldn't swim there, because of the tight. So maybe it's better to try other beaches in the island
