The staff friendliness

Consistent power cuts , the facility need to invest in an backup electricity supply. Also the breakfast menu, it didn’t have a lot of variety.

The food was different to what I am used to but was very nice.

The electricity went off a lot with no back up.

We chose Hotel Malika for our accommodation mainly because of its location and accessibility. When we arrived at the accommodation it turned out to be much more. We liked the accommodation so much that we changed our travel plans and stayed another 3 nights. The staff is very approachable, friendly and professional. The owner of the hotel was also, always willing to help us. The food was excellent, the hotel also offers many activities (massage, hair styling and many other activities). It is suitable for young people, a group or for a family.For sure we will recommend the hotel to our friends. We will be 100% back ♥️! Asante sana! Rebeka & Neja

I liked the staff, everyone was really nice, smiling, paying attention. Breakfast was good. The room was big and nice, it would have been better with more lights, only one bed light was working. Bed was comfy, lots of pillow . The massage at the hotel was good , try to pay cash or at the hotel not at the store across the street as they will charge you 10% commission. . The swimming pool is big.

The hotel is a little far from the beach , the road to go there is not pleasant. The restaurant is expensive like every restaurant in dollars on the island.

We had a great stay at Malika. The owner is present and helpful, and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed swimming in their pool and eating their buffet-style breakfast. We stayed in one of the new rooms. Our room wasn't on the ground floor, so we used the stairs to get to our room. The staff happily assisted with our luggage. There was Wi-Fi and we never encountered any electricity challenges. The air conditioning was useful since it sometimes gets hot and humid. We booked a twin room, and it was a lovely surprise to find one of the beds was slightly bigger. It was really nice that their checkout time was 12pm. Overall, it was a lovely stay.

Malika isn't directly on the beach, so one would have to walk to the beach.

OK, value for money. Good Air-con Welcoming staff Breakfast as expected, but ok- Toast, omelet, fruit, and juice/coffee. Hotek beginning to get old, so need some refreshment soon.

Bring Earplugs, dogs on the neighbors property make alot of noise several times at night.

Breakfasts there don’t have a lot of options, but they are very well done. The cook there is exceptionally good and a very friendly person. He alone will make you stay two times better. Even though there were some issues with rooms, they are good overall. You’ll get cleaning and new towels daily. The pool is good, even though we didn’t use it much. In 10-15 minutes walking there’s a great beach, the best we’ve seen in this part of the island.

Hotel has definitely seen better days and needs some renovation. We booked two rooms, one was great, but the other one was noticeably worth. Some light switches were about to break down, as well as water tap. WiFi is horrible. I guess it’s a common thing on the island, but there even the WiFi itself was not always working, let alone the connection of that WiFi to the internet. Don’t waste your money on hookah. It not a big deal overall since on Zanzibar no one knows how to make a good one. Just be aware that it’s not worth it at all

Stayed in Malika for two weeks, in the deluxe room with sea view, very spacious , very conformable, very clean , amazing view from the balcony , we looved it there. Nungwi beach is at a 6-8min walk from the hotel. The food at Malika was a delight. The key factor to our successful stay in Zanzibar and not only in Malika was the Manager M. Khaled who pays special attention to all his guests and considers them family, he was very helpful, always available from start to end, he insured our transfer from the airport to the hotel and back , even organized all our tours, from which we always came back very happy. And last but not least the staff was professional, so sweet and warm that we felt at home.

I loved everything from the facilities, to the food to the staff to the swimming pool. It's also walking distance from the beach. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. They were observant too, and were quick to offer something before you even asked for it. They also serve you with a big smile on your face. The rooms are spacious, with air conditioning and are clean too. All the rooms overlook the garden and pool, offering a great view. Mohammed the manager went out of his way to ensure our stay was great and that we had everything we needed. I'm already planning to be back in Zanzibar soon and I'll definitely stay at Malika again. It was definitely a 10/10 experience!

That my stay was so short! I would have loved to stay here longer.

I’m so glad I chose to stay here as was contemplating beach front but the proximity to the beach was close by 10mins to walk or 2mins on a quick bike ride from the taxi rank directly outside this gated complex for a few bucks. I’m very particular about hygiene & creepy crawlies so was delighted at the airy clean, spacious rooms with no bugs etc. it was kept clean daily with fresh towels & lovely housekeeping staff that met all your needs. The owner was amazing, very flexible allowing me to move my room from ground to 3rd floor as was my preference & helped with transport & excursions around the island. There were lots of restaurants close by to enjoy food, sports & music like “Highlands”, “Jambo” & “Cocobelo” which was perfect for a solo traveller like me not to feel isolated & have plenty to do / socialise.
