Zula is the proof for me that paradise exists. The accommodation was perfect in every aspect. The staff was incredibly kind, smiling, and relaxed. The surroundings are extremely calm, clean, and in a perfect location. The food and drinks were exceptionally tasty, and the portions were generous. The receptionist, the staff around the pool and in the garden, as well as in the restaurant, asked me every day how I was. One morning before breakfast, after previous question, they even inquired about how I slept, which I'm not accustomed to – I particularly appreciated that! :) How did I sleep? I'm in Zula Zanzibar, having the best days of my life! Far far the best place I have ever been so far. <3 A small part of my "MzunguMaasai" soul was left in Zula.

We are in the middle of a 2 month journey through East Africa and we decided to take a break for 5 days and enjoy all that Zanzibar had to offer. We absolutely loved Zula Zanzibar and we feel lucky to have stumbled across this amazing hotel online. Our room was spotless, air con was refreshing, the second storey deck off of our room was a great place to chill, beds were firm but the pillows were comfortable and they even supplied mosquito nets but we didn’t need them. The pools were perfect and were well taken care of. The lounge chairs were comfortable. The wifi was strong. The wind was always blowing which kept away the insects and allowed you lie comfortably in the sun, and the location offered breathtaking views especially from the elevated ocean front pool. It’s a couple minute walk from the local gift shops and ‘The Market’ where you can get everything you need. The food at Zula Zanzibar was on par in terms of price and quality and was better than many of the other places we tried - not to mention the free freshly baked cookies always available at the front desk plus the staff would sometimes walk around and offer complimentary samples of local appetizers which were all to die for, especially the slightly spicy potato thingy’s which were pure addiction. Having said all that, it’s the staff at Zula Zanzibar that really sets this place apart. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were made to feel like part of a family. Mary, Ben, Benti, Janet, Patricia and the countless other staff never missed a chance to say hello and to see how we were doing. The restaurant staff couldn’t have been more friendly and attentive and even the cleaning staff always made sure we always had what we needed. This place is run very well and the staff is always out making sure every little detail is taken care of.

This isn't specific to Zula Zanzibar but I wish smoking wasn't acceptable in the outside dining areas. Some of the cushions on the lounge chairs need replacing but it looks like they are in the middle of replacing them as we speak with newer more modern lounge chairs.

New hotel, very central on the beach with nice pool. Staff very friendly and helpful. Bungalow rooms are huge and have an amazing sea view. Infinity pool upside the restaurant is a highlight. Cleaning of the room was perfect and we got on our last day late check out, so we could stay at the room until evening. Thanks for all, we will come back soon to Paje and Zula.

Nothing. Improvement of WiFi stability would be great. Breakfast buffet with more choices would be better than a la carte.

This property is an oasis! Located directly on the beach, you wake up each morning with an incredible view. The breakfast was great, with ample choices and was served in a timely manner. The staff are incredible. They were so accommodating and friendly during our stay and made us feel at home. The room itself was clean and spacious. The property is a short distance away (about 10m walking) to the main road in Paje if you want to try out some other local restaurants or shops.

Very nice property with lot of options to relax. Big pool with two small “whirlpools “ and small glass “pool” in the terrace with sea view. There is a private sandy space with sun lounges like a beach .restaurant was very nice and so close to the sea when high tide the water was 1 meter from us. Beautiful view. The food was tasty and the beer was good as we drunk the local beer -i recommend it. Also nice drinks. Little bit more expensive thank in Michamwi but it wasn’t so bad. Very windy though and a looot of locals walking around and offering stuff. Nice water and warm. When low tide and you walk far from the beach you’ll find starfish and a lot of sea life it’s beautiful . You don’t have to pay for snorkelling trip everything is there .also because it’s windy there are many windsurfers and there is also a windsurfing “school” next to the hotel and many others along the beach . The ocean is full of windsurfers. The room was okay and the bed was comfortable. You’ll get 2 small bottles of water at the beginning and you can fill them up anytime at the reception. Staff was very friendly and the welcome was unexpected as we never experienced welcome like that anywhere before. Very friendly and fun. They showed us around and explained everything with a welcome drink- fresh juice.

It’s not so much about the property but the location as it’s or it was very windy during our stay . Many many windsurfers in the water and soooo many locals “bothering” us. It’s okay one time , two times .. even 10 times but if the same person comes to you every day couple of times and there are many more that do the same . You don’t have one minute of peace . We took a walk on the beach just one time because of that. When we wanted to go for a swim we literally run to the water to not to be stopped by someone again.

Beautiful little hotel in a perfect location on the Paje beach. Great food at the restaurant, and we enjoyed the night with the live band. I also liked that you could eat at their sister property, Mahali, and charge it to the room. The staff were all helpful and friendly, and the small pool overlooking the beach was a great spot to chill with a drink.

Staff were amazing, they really make the hotel! So friendly and thoughtful. We made friends with Ben and he was just lovely! The food was fantastic! Try the kuku curry and you won’t be disappointed! The pools are a nice touch. Prices were great compared to some other places to stay here. Live music and staff dancing was so much fun, made it easy to get involved. The raise area to sit kept you nice and cool as it was in the wind and was away from the constant sellers! The resort is mostly paved so makes the transition from sand so much easier! Despite the few small down sides we will definitely be back!

Bed was literally rock hard in one of the 2 rooms we had. This was T4. Sleeping was a challenge! The other room had a drainage smell a lot of the time. The locals have fires to burn rubbish out the back of the hotel, not the hotels fault but depending on the wind direction it can make the smell quite unpleasant.

Wonderful staff who genuinely make you feel welcome. Special thanks to Binti and Mary who are particularly helpful and considerate. Zula is a great location for a relaxing beach holiday. There’s a dive shop next door, plenty of kitesurfing schools and lots of options locally to eat and drink. When the tide is out the beach stretches for miles. Great for a morning run and reminiscent of how Bang Tao Bay in Phuket was before it became developed. The hotel restaurant and bar are good and very reasonably priced although the menu is a little limited in choice if you are staying for more than a few days. I would recommend a trip to Jozani Rain Forest for a chance to see the Colobus Monkeys in their natural habitat.

There are lots of people on the beach trying to sell things. This is beyond Zula’s control but becomes a little irritating after a while.

We had an incredible stay at Zula Zanzibar !The location is absolutely stunning—right in front of the beach, offering breathtaking views and a serene atmosphere. The entire property is immaculately clean, secure, and beautifully maintained. The staff truly made our stay unforgettable. They were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and always went out of their way to make us feel welcome. A special mention to the chef, whose culinary skills are outstanding. Every meal was a delight, and the dishes were not only delicious but also presented with great care. We had the pleasure of spending Christmas here, and the resort made it a truly magical experience. The resort is even more beautiful in reality than in the pictures! We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a perfect getaway. We can’t wait to return! Hakuna Matata!

Zula Zanzibar came to our rescue when we had a terrible experience at a different hotel. The rooms were very clean they made an effort with our honeymoon the food was delicious and the staff service exceptional! It felt like family when we left there . We felt like we were VIP and that all our needs were met .

There was absolutely nothing that we did not like if I could give a 11 out 10 I would ! Awesome vibe awesome effort and awesome staff truly really equally awesome staff .
