WOW! What an amazing stay! When we arrived we were greeted with tea and told our room was ready early which was a bonus. The staff here are so friendly and accommodating. The bungalows here are just gorgeous. So spacious and clean, the bed is HUGE and so comfy. The hammock outside was a huge plus. The resort itself is so beautiful - felt very luxury for what we paid. There is enough sunbeds and to go around aswell as hammocks etc, and you get sun all day on the beach (but there is also shade if that’s what you prefer). We borrowed the kayak one day and went to the island across the way (no charge). The location was good for us because it wasn’t too far from the port but was also a short walk away from restaurants and a night market. It was right next to the fishing port but this didn’t bother us. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We had a great time at Angkana. Our room was large and comfortable, and the staff were very attentive. We were particularly impressed by the restaurant which provided excellent Thai and western food with amazing beach views for very affordable prices (about 100 baht per curry). The resort was also very quiet which meant we had our pick of all the sunbeds (although that may have been a perk of staying during the off season). The free access kayaks was also appreciated.

I didn't feel it was made particularly clear that the beach is not really swimmable in front of the hotel (although we went in July, this may be different during the peak season). This would be fine had we not felt the pool could have done with some renovation. The beach toilet was also not quite as clean as the rest of the resort. Overall, it was still an amazing stay, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet and comfortable time on Koh Phangan!

I loved this place. We had bungalow two which looks straight out onto the beach, the grounds are absolutely gorgeous. The bungalow its self is clean, the bed is comfortable, the air con worked and the shower was warm. The staff were lovely and they put a repellent candle on the balcony so that we could sit out without being eaten by bugs. Coco the cat was very friendly and we did have to evict him from our bungalow at one point.

The bay was not good for swimming as it’s very shallow but there’s a small pool and a kayak for free use. Some people might not like that the bathroom is just separated by a bamboo divider rather than it being an actual separate room.

The location is STUNNING. I can't explain enough how serene the beach is, it's peaceful, calm and was one of my favourite places on the holiday. The staff were brilliant and extremely helpful. Would highly recommend!

The bathroom not being a separate room was not ideal, also the doors didn't shut properly which was a major concern for mosquitos. The shower was also pretty cold and the lighting was really bad at night in the room, but overall, the staff and the location more than make up for these points!

Fabulous bungalows practically on the beach. The owner and all of the staff were so lovely, friendly and helpful. There is a restaurant on site which had delicious food (especially loved the chocolate fondant!) Our bungalow was only a few seconds walk from the beach, the water is not suitable for swimming (due to being so shallow) but we knew that before we booked so were not disappointed. Choice of Hammocks or loungers to relax on. The accommodation was lovely, stylishly put together with a really comfy bed. Great little seating area outside our door. In terms of location, we were a 10 or so minute walk from Thong Sala, where there were many restaurants, bars and places to buy souvenirs. Would highly recommend this place!

Cleanliness of the bungalow, simple interior but very inclusive (kettle, fridge, multiple towels+beach towels, hangers, sarongs, even mosquito repellers) We were given bungalow #4, which we found the BEST bungalow (or mayyyybe second best) because it had the most stunning view: not blocked by other bungalows, aged pool etc. Just palm trees and water. Stunning. Very calming. The hammock, and seating on the front porch were very nice to have as well. Very near bike rental shop with decent prices. 200 baht for a bike/day. But they make BIG profits from the bottles of gasoline (priced 40 THB per bottle which you have to buy)

Angkana is tucked inside a small dirt road (muddy when it rains), no lights when dark, so pretty uncomfortable when you head back from e.g. dinner / chillings outside. Besides, you can't swim in the water. Too shallow, dirty. Very disappointing, especially because we stayed on the stunning Koh Tao the night before.

Wonderful and peaceful place, ideal for a couple of nights in Koh Phangan. Staff were very kind. The bungalow we booked had a sea view and it was very clean and spacious. You feel welcomed since day one and you can enjoy this tranquil place fully. The place has a little beach with sunbeds and a swimming pool as well.

The room was cleaned daily, our towels were also changed daily, but they did not have a nice smell to them. That is the only thing I would improve. Besides that, everything was more than perfect.

Resort was really lovely. Only about 10 bungalows which makes it feel like you’ve got the place to yourself. All bungalows are very private. Pool was a great addition if you didn’t want to go in the sea. Pool/ beach area was really nice. Enough beds for everyone and the choice of frazzling in the sunshine or moving the bed under the shade of the palm trees. Bar/ restaurant area was lovely. Food was delicious and the beers were nice and cold (not always a guarantee in Thailand). Lots of cocktails and other beverages on offer too. We didn’t try anything other than beer but what we saw looked nice! Would be good if a pool table was available and maybe if the bar could be open a little later - even 10:30pm would be good. I say this as there isn’t much else close by. Bungalows were clean, spacious and had everything you needed. I thought we would’ve been eaten alive with mozzies but the owners did everything they could to make sure this didn’t happen. We didn’t get 1 bite at all !! All staff were so lovely and always genuinely happy to help. I think the staff really add a sparkle to this place. Thank you for a great stay. Would definitely stay again.

Shouldn’t let it put you off … but it is quite a dark road from the main road to the resort. Once you get to the main road there’s only a few bars in close walking distance. However, we still felt completely safe walking (as 2 women) and the staff were happy to order taxis for us if needed. It would be good to have some lights on the road leading to the resort though.
