It's not about the little breakfast in the morning, the cleanliness, the free drinking water, sometimes free dinner or popcorn in the evening, the free yoga morning, the two terraces, common areas and the many bathrooms, it's not about all that. Every person I met there was an unique and beautiful person that make you feel in every moment, every conversation you enrich yourself for being there. Free water, free muffins and fruits in the morning, free two times a day yoga, free social dinners 3 times a week, got a kitchen within is extra bonus as in south east Asia there is very rare to find one. Meant to stay for few days extended for almost a month! Beautiful community here most of people tend to extend the stay - if you are in koh phangan you must visit this place and give it a shout. There is also few incredible volunteers making sure that we all having best time, they organise depending on day and mood of the guest other activities, movie nights, ecestic dances, bachata and many more!

I definitely loved this place. It has the perfect atmosphere to make me feel at home and with several activities. They provide free yoga classes every morning and salsa dance classes in the evening! Thank you so much for the good energy! And Tahsin, the owner is an amazing cook and prepares social dinners for all the guests! The food was delicious and the environment really friendly and familiar! For sure, I will come back and I recommend everyone to stay here.

If you're looking for a hostel with a welcoming and laid-back vibe, Barsay is the perfect spot! The highlight of my stay was definitely the friendly atmosphere created by Ali and his amazing team of volunteers. They made everyone feel right at home, always ready to offer tips and advice or simply share a laugh. The location is ideal if you want to be close to the action—perfectly situated near a variety of activities. Despite being in a central area, the rooms are quiet and dark, providing the perfect environment for a peaceful night's rest. The hostel offers plenty of communal spaces, but there's also a sense of privacy when needed, which I appreciated. Whether you're in the mood to meet new people or just relax on your own, Barsay has the perfect balance. Highly recommended for those seeking both comfort and a social vibe!

I stayed during Oct/Nov during a non-full moon week. I had a fabulous time here. The host is a fabulous cook who came around on occasion to host a “family dinner” for the guests and the volunteers. The volunteers staffing the hostels were super nice, they mingled with the guests and it created this really nice, friendly atmosphere where you feel really welcome. Free yoga classes in the morning (Thank you Rebecca for being such a great teacher!) and muffins and coffee. Great location as well, Lotus & 7-11 are a 5 min walk away, and the pier is 15 mins away on foot.

Absolutely loved my stay here! The location is great, not too far from the pier, so it's super convenient whether you're arriving or heading out. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready with a smile and great local tips. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and there's plenty of space around the hostel to relax and hang out. The overall vibe is really chill and welcoming, perfect for meeting other travelers or just unwinding. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Cool hostel. Best location, free fruits and muffins for breakfast. Very quiet. AC in the rooms. Towels provided. Really liked the idea of ​​a whatsapp group where all the activities on the island are published daily, as well as a shelf where you can leave something unnecessary and take what you need. Very kind and helpful staff. I got a bike accident, they helped me with medications. Of the minuses I would name non-working showers in the common area and the lack of locks for the lockers. But overall it was a great experience! Thank you!

I can't fault it! I had one of the best stays during my duration in Thailand at Phangan Barsay! The kindest staff - striking up conversation, showing me to my room and around the property, conducting free yoga sessions every morning, arranging a scooter hire for dead cheap (100 baht a day), introducing me to the other boarders, who turned into family for the three days that I was there. The rooms were clean and spacious, with ample space for communing together in their common areas. I had the best time, and would love to visit the property again! I'd highly recommend it!

March 2023: Located relatively close to the entry pier and easily walkable, scooter parking out front and more across the street. The front porch area is nice to hangout, with a quieter area at the back for socialising also. The facilities were relatively clean and maintained. Room had good air con, each bed wired with an individual light and plug. Large-ish lockers fit my 7kg carry on bag easily. The staff and owner were friendly and always available, plus the dance and yoga classes in the activity room across the street were much appreciated. All that plus some tea/coffee/fruit/muffins in the morning made it a very nice stay.

Only cold water in the showers, slightly dated ensuite, bed was very firm.

Great hostel! There are so many remarkable things. You have free yoga classes every morning, some food for breakfast, coffee all day. The room was very confortable, free towel, air conditioner, free locker, clean bathroom... But the most important things is the vibe with other guests and volunteers. Everybody is welcome and welcoming, it's perfect for all travellers, backpacking atmosphere, easy to connect with other people or enjoy a night with free soup and music. It's also good for remote work, good wifi connection and common space for working. Best hostel I've ever been!
