If I could rate this resort higher stars, I would. The staff here are the loveliest people and so kind and helpful. They helped my boyfriend and I bring our luggage right to the room from the boat. The rooms were so clean and very spacious. This resort is a quiet slice of paradise but has everything you need close by. A minute walking distance from bars, shops, restaurants, and anything you need. It's simply a lovely little village, and this resort made our time here even better. The pool was fantastic. The shower had hot water both days.may I also add the bedding was the softest we experienced our southeast asia travels. We only booked one night, but the second we got there, we wanted to book for longer, but unfortunately, we were heading to koh lanta the following day and already had accomodation booked for koh lanta, But we will return without a doubt. Mr din who works there and helped us from the boats with our luggage, is a real credit to this place. He helped us book our boat for our next island. His kindness and attentiveness to detail did not go unnoticed, and I hope he gets recognition for the hard work he puts into this resort. He really did us fall in love with phi phi. Just a short walk from the Loh Ba Koh Bay beach, this hotel is perfectly situated for anyone looking to enjoy the sun, sand, and sea. The complimentary longboat pick-up from the ferry was a fantastic start to my trip, and we were also met with a motorbike with a sidecar to the resort. The room I stayed in featured a lovely balcony that allowed for a refreshing breeze throughout the day. It was the ideal spot to enjoy a morning coffee or unwind in the evening while soaking up the stunning views. The housekeeping staff did a wonderful job, ensuring that my room was cleaned and refreshed daily, making my stay comfortable and pleasant. The front of house staff were also really helpful and knowledgable on island trips, and nothing was too much trouble. The resort's location is another highlight. As well as being a few minutes from a white sand beach, with shallow calm water (perfect for our young children), the hotel is also walking distance of various restaurants, a newsagent, and laundry services made my stay incredibly convenient. I enjoyed exploring the local dining options and bars.

We did not research enough into the accessibility of the location to other parts of the island. We assumed we could rent bikes and travel across the island, but the geographics were very hilly and the only way in and out of the location was via long boats - and the price of these longboats was often around 2500tb for a return trip to Tonsai Bay from Loh Lana Bay as there was no other option available!

I liked the local village with dirt roads and not vehicles apart of some mototaxis. The style of the restaurants made me feel like I was in a movie with tropical themes. The beach just a few minutes away was another expectacular spot. All the staff members were great people with the best smile. Din always was willing to help you out. The isolation of this place and not being overcrowded was another point to stand out.

The location has its pros and cons. Depending on what your plans are. You need to be aware that if you want to explore Tonsai,you have 2 options. 1, is to walk through the island for about 1,5 hours depending of your pace or 2, pay a taxi boat which will cost you about 800 bath each way on day light or from 1200 and above if at night. Keep in mind that Bakao Resort offers you one free shuttle boat on each way. Upon your arrival and after check out to come back to Tonsai. It's a bit tricky if you need more than that.. But if you just want to be away from the main tourist spot and just want to be relaxed but still with some tourists, then I highly recommend coming here. By the way, I want to come.nack again to Bakao just to relax.

Amazing out of the party place vibe. Quite little village with everything you will need. It’s out the way (which is what we liked) there is a free boat to and from the hotel, when you check in and check out. Otherwise you will have to ask if there are guests checking in or out to get the free boat. We found a boat taxi for 1500 tbh to the hotel if there isn’t a free one. The staff are very friendly, we will be back!

Nice little place on a quiet but great location on phi phi island. I wanted to change my arrival date at short notice and spoke directly to the manager. He was very accommodating in fulfilling this request. The bungalow was clean and the bed was comfortable. I would recommend staying here for a night or two if you want a bit of relaxation. There are a few really good bars nearby, and I had a massage on my injured shoulder at a place next to the hotel which was amazing.

The Tonsai Pier area on the Phi Phi Islands can be a little busy and crowded however, these bungalows are located in Phi Phi Village in the north which is a lovely, relaxing area still with a number of small restaurants, shops, bars and cafes! Management were happy to arrange free long boat rides to/from Phi Phi Village to the Tonsai Pier area, often with a nice motorbike and sidecar ride too which saves a ten minute walk! Staff were all so friendly, asking how my day had been, offering a motorbike ride to the nearby beach without me even asking! Nui Beach was really close by and after talking to some locals I was pointed in the direction of a short but steep trail just over the hill from Loh Lana Bay, definitely recommend, beautiful beach! It is also walkable following the trail across the island to get over to the main town and Tonsai Pier area but this can take 90 minutes or longer and is a jungle path on parts with the occasional monkey, mosquito etc. The views from the viewpoints are incredible though, well worth a hike! The bungalows are very spacious inside with a lovely seating and decking area outside. There is plenty of furniture inside to put luggage and clothes, even a clothes airer to dry wet clothes. After staying in a number of hotels and apartments on this same trip, it was lovely to have a detached bungalow which really helps have a good night's sleep without any noise! Overall a really great, relaxing stay with an amazing location and opportunity to really see the Phi Phi Islands and not just the main town like some of the day trips offer!!

The accomodation itself was in a beautiful area in a small little village the north of Phi Phi and a two minute walk to a stunning beach. It was basic accomodation but really comfortable and we had a nice area to sit outside. The staff were so helpful they collected us from the boat whenever we needed and organised free shuttle when we arrived and when we left

Although the location is beautiful it is also really secluded and cut off from the main area of Phi Phi. Besides walking through the mountains for two hours you can only reach the main area by boat. We were able to go in early in the morning for free as people were leaving the accomodation but had to pay €20 to get the boat back. Last pick up is also 4pm so you won’t get to have a night out in the main area. Options are also very limited in the village and yours are very expensive here

It was an amazing weekend!! The manager awesome guy makes everything possible for the best satisfaction for the clients the room is the best choices in whole thailand that we are spending from 21 days so far!! Extra highly recommended you should visit also the Buffalo bar with the amazing bartender-server that he is the life of this bar!! Don't spend your money in faceless accommodations and try the bakao resort the luxury bungalow and don't hesitate to ask the manager to help you in everything you are gonna need and you won't regret it!! The staff there were great and really ensured we had a good experience and gave us guidance to what activities to do from the location. It was a great time

The location of the closest beach being private/unable to attend (Part of Saii village) was a bit of a bummer, but luckily the area plenty of longtails from the region to other beaches and you’re very close to bamboo island and the staff helped us get around well.

the local village is so authentic and the beach incredible. The resort is very simple, without the restaurant but is very easy to have breakfast in the morning nearby. If you like Thailand you like also this kind of simple accommodation

the water in the shower was cold
