We had a executive room and it was very spacious and the view of the river was amazing with panoramic river views. We thought the room was looking tired, the seating area was frayed, the reception area was amazing but again the rest of the hotel was looking tired. Decorating might be in the pipeline and it would make it amazing. Lovely swimming pool area with bar and children’s play area. Didn’t use gym or spa so can’t comment. Breakfast had quite a few choices and was very good. Enjoyed each day what we had. Lovely shop in corner of reception with very friendly people, very helpful. It was nice to browse and not feel any pressure. Good supermarket next door and also a mall with lovely restaurants. Thank you to the young cleaning girls, who were very polite and kept our room clean. It’s quite away from major attractions, but we were grateful at the end, with the crowds to have peace and quiet to go back to.

Just would like some of the staff to cheer up, you’re in hospitality, some didn’t acknowledge at all. The staff member at the breakfast desk one morning just snapped number, not even a good morning. On our last couple of mornings there seemed to be a change of staff and they did acknowledge abit more, there was one particular lady in breakfast, which greeted us with a lovely friendly smile and greeting, so I would like to say thank you to her, her name was Patiya.

Staff were friendly, check in and check out were uncomplicated and quick. The hotel is a little worn around the edges but we knew it was an older hotel. Still everything is well-kept and looked after, the room was very clean and in good condition and the bed very comfy. It was quiet and relaxing which is a bonus after a day's sightseeing in Bangkok. The views from the room across the river and the riverfront terrace are lovely, too. It would be even nicer if it was a little busier on the terrace. Although the hotel is quite far from Central Bangkok and major sights, it's easy to get a Grab car. We also got an a/c public bus all the way back to the hotel from the Grand Palace for a 20 THB fare. The rather glitzy Terminal 21 mall, which has dozens of restaurants, is next door and we found some very cheap and tasty local restaurants nearby. Asiatique Riverfront is also just a short taxi ride away. We didn't try the restaurant or café, but breakfast was very good with a very wide selection of Thai and international food. The various Thai and halal options changed every day and there were many other options as well. We didn't actually have time to use the pool or gym but they looked inviting. ini

We liked everything about the hotel. As always, just read all the information about the hotel and check the location before booking.

All of the staff were fabulous. Particular shout-out to Koi (nickname) in the breakfast room. She was so friendly with everyone. The breakfast buffet had a great variety of Western and Asian foods. Coffee was good too. Check-in was easy and seamless. The elevators operated well - I say this because I have stayed at many hotels where there weren't enough elevators and you had to wait for ages. The rooms were spacious and the beds comfortable with a view over the river. The concierge and doormen were professional and courteous. I didn't use the gym area so I can't comment.

I know it is an older hotel (which is part of the charm) but it could do with "essential" updates like charging points beside the beds. The hotel is a fair distance from the "main" area of Bangkok so it is always at least 30mins to anywhere - apart from Asiatique and Terminal 21 Rama 3 shopping mall (which is right next door). But we knew this before we booked and taxis are cheap and plentiful. The only other thing is if the prices of the massages were cheaper we would have had our massages at the hotel but they were double the price of the one down the road.

My wife and I really liked the hotel. It's not new, and you can feel that in the rooms. For those who find it critical that everything in the room should be perfect, with no dust in the most hidden corners, they probably won't be satisfied. For us, what was important was the peace and quiet, as our stays in many Bangkok hotels often ended with us having to change rooms due to noisy neighbors. Here, our wishes were finally fully met. Either the hotel is so solid (it feels old but sturdy and strong) and the soundproofing is better due to thicker walls, which I'm not sure about, or the occupancy was just lower. Although I did see neighbors on our floor, and there were always crowds at breakfast—some serious business people in suits, whole delegations. The breakfasts were very good. I would rate them 8 out of 10. During our entire stay (5 nights), we never got tired of the breakfasts. The dishes didn't change much, but everything necessary was available. We always left breakfast full and satisfied. Inside the hotel, there is a spacious area with tables where you can sit and work on a laptop to the pleasant sound of fountains. They also sell pastries and coffee there, and the morning breakfast area becomes a restaurant. Additionally, by the river on the hotel grounds, there's an area for dining and entertainment, which is very cozy in the evening due to the warm illumination from string lights. There is also a pier on the grounds, which I thought would be another plus and we could go to Icon Siam from there. But the pier turned out to be private. However, the hotel offers a free shuttle to the public pier. Another nice touch: it was my wife's birthday. The hotel left a pleasant sweet bonus in the room in the form of a small cake. The cake was simple but tasty. This attention was very nice. Overall, the hotel left the most pleasant impressions. We will definitely come back here again.

cleanliness and helpful staff & good service. swimming pool was clean and blue~ nice view of the river and next to shopping mall. The room service’s menu and food were so delicious!! great job to the cooks. receptionist attended to my internet connection issue and needs accordingly. thank you!

when guest has put on ‘do not disturb’ sign, pls respect our request not to enter the room just to make up the room. Luckily, nothing gone missing as I left my luggage unlocked. I didn’t expect anyone to come in when that signage has been put on. Breakfast choice is not much but each of the dishes were good. coffee machine doesn’t work well. room 2008’s bathroom door can’t close at all; kindly fix it.

The pool, the view, the garden, breakfast with many options, the spa.

We had to take the taxi to go basically everywhere and every time it was at least 20 mins far. Also rooms could be renewed a bit.

The hotel is old everywhere you look. Furniture, details, room, exterior.. Everything looks old and asking for renovation. But i felt that charming in a way. like a jump to the past, to 90s. Nice old movie feeling, cozy and relaxing. Good bathroom. Not so much guests, hotel felt more like empty. Food was delivered fast, food was good, prices also not so expensive.

Wi-Fi is bad. Connection is poor and every time you reconnect you have to log in again. Which is just typing "montien" as login as password every time. The security that is not needed, or you could make a system that remembers devices. Connection speed was also bad for 2023. Personal speaks English just like any other Thai person in the city. Which is basically just some phrases.

The hotel is very impressive and has a stunning entrance with high ceilings and pillars everywhere. I have never been in a hotel this beautiful before. It has a really great somewhat stylish old fashioned interior like from a James Bond movie, especially in the main hall and restaurant. It creates a really stunning and luxurious atmosphere which we really liked. We got a free upgrade to an executive room on the 25th floor which is almost at the top of the hotel. It was large and very nice with stunning views on the river and city, especially in the evening. The bed was really comfortable and big. The bathroom very big and comfortable. The pool was great. The WiFi was OK, I could stream Netflix from my laptop without problems. We had the breakfast included and it was delicious with many choice available. Food and cocktails outside at the riverside are a real treat. And T21 shoppingmall is nextdoor. I liked the place, highly recommended. I would visit again. Thanks Montien for a great stay!

Could use a new paint job at the poolside of the hotel. But I understand, that's a real undertaking..
