Pier808 was perfect for my holiday. The location was perfect for investigating Chinatown, Old City and the popular temples and palace of Bangkok. Being on the waterfront with the ferries, I was able to easily do 1 temple/palace a day and do other activities or come back to relax in the air-conditioner before heading out for more activities. The hostess is genuinely interested in you having a great stay and will give you heaps of tips like using Muvmi (rideshare tuktuk) and where you should visit. The wholesale markets that pop up on weekends are super interesting. Talad Noi is also really close by and is super quaint and trendy and should be investigated. Pier808 will allow you to see a locals Bangkok whilst having the benefit of being near the major tourist attractions. Everything in the hostel is brand new and well designed. As an example - Internet/wifi was 300Mbps in the dorms.

If you love a typical backpacker party area, this is NOT it. This is more suited to people that want to investigate the other aspects of Bangkok like food, local life, history, culture. Live bands and drinks at Talad Noi are an awesome replacement though.

Clean 10 of 10, the most clean hostel I stayed. Location 9 of 10, it close to port, Chinatown, local life coffee food 7-11, has everything you need. Service, 10 of 10, when I was about to leave, I stay in lobby for a longer time, this is a place for peace. Bed, 10 of 10, I sleep very well all the nights,I arrive in early morning, tired and sleepy, the next morning I wake up at 10am, full of energy, thanks for the good sleep. Budget, 10 of 10, it is perfect for the price, I stayed many hostel, expensive ones cheap ones, this hostel is in the middle, but it can compares with expensive ones.

The rooftop is great, but it is riverside, so beware of mosquitoes, they bite very hard I have never seen, make my leg full of big red spot and for days the red spot do not gone… if you have long pants, please wear it to rooftop.

This is my favorite hostel in Bangkok. It was comfortable to live here. The beds are soft, the place is quiet. The rooms and showers are clean and in good condition. Guests are provided with clean towels. There is also a microwave, a kettle and a big desk at the reception area. They provide a laundry service, too. I like that the place is not overcrowded. Special thanks to the girl at the reception. It is nice when the hotel staff cares about you and tries to help if you have any questions.

It happens from time to time that there are very few guests here. If you are a sociable person, you may feel lonely here. However, you can always hang out in the lobby, where there is a TV and a sociable reception girl :3 In terms of what can be improved, perhaps in the future it would be worth considering replacing the chairs on the second floor with other chairs with more comfortable backrests.

Even though we could have had a slightly larger double room at other places for the same price, we decided to stay at the Pier 808 based on the reviews and location. We were not disappointed at all! Modern industrial style look, seems very new and clean, very welcoming host, felt very safe, very comfy bed, quiet and nice view from the rooftop terrace (didn’t seem serviced though, so BYOB) The location was unbeatable, you just have to cross an alley to get to the Ratchawanga Pier, great starting point for sightseeing’s and also within a 10min walk to Chinatown and the nearest Metro.

For a 4night stay the double room was kinda small, which we knew and actually managed well. However an additional rack for backpacks/suitcase could be a minor improvement.

The lady who works at the desk is so polite and friendly. She goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. She was really helpful giving suggestions for things to do and ways to get around the city as I was only visiting for a short while. The location was so handy for getting to places easily with the hop on and off tourist boat really good value for a day pass. There is also a 7/11 in very short walking distance which comes in handy. I had a private room and the view from the balcony was gorgeous. You should definitely head up to the rooftop for sunrise, the skyline at that time of the day is stunning from up there.

It wasn’t something I didn’t necessarily like, but just to be aware that this is not the most built up area.

The location is great! Everything is easily reachable by public transport (boat or metro) and even though the Hostel is right in the middle of Chinatown, it’s situated in a quiet side street right next to the pier. The Hostel is super clean and calm and a great place to rewind after a day exploring Bangkok. We felt especially welcome by the Woman at the reception managing everything. She made us feel like home, had great Tipps and was just lovely!

Very kind hosts. The rooftop was great, and we had a (slightly obstructed but partially visible!) view of the river from our room. Our stay was quiet and the room was clean with comfortable beds. They had a free bottled water refill station in the lobby and easy access to snacks to buy. There was an elevator to all floors.

The entire bathroom gets a little wet after a shower, so I'd recommend bringing extra shower shoes - they provide enough, but it can be nice to have in-bathroom shoes and out-of-bathroom shoes so the bedroom doesn't get wet.

Location was great. It was beside the pier which was convenient for water taxi's and there is a bus stop just one street over. At night, you could definitely have quite the feed as it is located in Chinatown where there are a lot of markets and stalls set up. The room I had was what I wanted. Comfortable beds and just the required facilities to rest and recharge. Staff were friendly and helpful in providing recommendations for food and activities. Also check out the rooftop space. It's pretty cool

The hostel is new (as of early 2024), clean and quiet, thankfully not a party place. It is a great base if you want to explore Bangkok, with easy access to the main sights, but in an authentic neighborhood in Chinatown. There’s a 7-Eleven around the corner, Yaowarat night market is closeby, and there’s also a hip street with great trendy cafés, restaurants and an art gallery just around the corner (Song Wat Road). The pier / boat stop is literally in front of the house, and the boat takes you to all the main stops on the river (e.g. Wat Arun or Iconsiam) for 30 THB. The rooftop has amazing views of the skyline and partially the river, it was very peaceful and nice to sit out there at night. I also have to mention that the Hosts are so incredibly nice! They went out of their way to give me good tips and a great experience in Chinatown, thank you so much once again for that, it made my stay all the more special!! :)

The host is amazing, she's so welcoming, friendly and always available to answer questions, give recommendations or just have a chat. The hostel is very clean and modern. I love the capsule style beds and slept well every night. The bathroom gets quite warm but there's a plug-in fan to help. The common space on the first floor is good for hanging out, having some food, doing some work. It's not a very busy or social hostel but that suited me as I was working remotely the week I stayed there. The rooftop is amazing, the views are great and there's also an indoor space on the rooftop, where I worked one of the days. The location is relatively convenient too. Overall, it was great!
