I have stayed at The Shanti Lodge a number of times and it is always consistent in its quality.

Actually they have upgraded the rooms since my last visit….

A lovely home stay with restaurant in the front. Our room had nice small shower and wash basin area attached. Small but comfy rooms. Wifi was there. Shared toilet and bathroom was clean and nice too.

Location is 20-30 min walk from nearest sightseeing. Khaosan Road is the nearest sightseeing. Bike rentals are at 20min walk.

Beautiful property, well located. True immersion in Thailand, I felt it!!! Stunning place and nice cafe and restaurant downstairs. Very green area

Please don’t say it is 15 square meter? It is a lie ! It is just the size of the bed. I guess maximum 4 or 5 sqm. But it’s not the first time I see a wrong sqm in Thailand ! Also the walls are paper thin so I was so glad I was travelling alone.

Air conditioning doesn't change inside temperature

This is a very special place beautifully and tastefully decorated. The dining room/lounge is spacious and very welcoming. It is also surrounded on every side by a lot of plants and bushes including the terrace at the front of the building so that it is well shaded, stays cool and has a calm atmosphere. Our bedroom didn't have a window but it wasn't a problem at all as again the beautiful decor made up for it. The air conditioning worked perfectly and there was also a fan which gave us a perfect temperature. As for the staff, I couldn't praise them enough for their loveliness, kindness, helpfulness and efficiency. There is no doubt that we'd love to come back and we will certainly recommend it to friends and family.

The only slight inconvenience was the noise which came from the room above us but it could be due to inconsiderate guests walking heavily rather than a lack of insulation.

I loved the downstairs cafe/chill out area, it was beautiful, hippie and really peaceful. A little sanctuary away from the craziness of Bangkok! The rooms had a really earthy, rustic and arty vibe, which I really liked. They had some vintage astrology books which was a pleasant surprise as I love this. The shower pressure was awesome. The room I was in was a little small to move about in, would be annoying with two people. The bed was very firm and not that comfortable for me but this seems common across Thailand. Overall it was really lovely for 2 nights in Bangkok!

The biggest downside was my room didn’t have any windows, and the walls were also very thin so I could hear what was happening outside my room.

It's very very thin walls and it's very noisy from the restaurant downstairs and the AC makes walls shaking and it sounds like someone crashing it away Stuff look not happy most of the time A lot of mosquitoes No water refill, I think it should be

The communication was good before my arrival as I had to change the date of departure and they promptly answer. I liked the location because it wasn't a busy street, there was a laundry right across the street and within 5-10 minutes walk to buses. Also it's very close to the pier to take a taxi boat to some of the temples. The staff was kind and stored my fruit in their fridge when needed. The AC worked fine.

The floor is indeed noisy because it is made of loosen wood and the walls are paper thin. With my ear plugs I slept well. Unfortunately there were no windows in the room so the room was always dark and a bit humid (difficult to dry out our towels).

That you could find a rustic authentic Thai in Bangkok. 7-eleven opposite. Food and drink insight. Access 24hrs.

Loved how clean it was, big fan in the room will keep you cool enough whilst you sleep if your room doesn’t have AC so very happy with that. The place is just pretty and tropical and there’s a cute kitten. My fav was the neighbourhood it has great food lovely people everything you need from transport to atm.

The walls are a bit thin it is a quiet neighbourhood so not a concern but you can hear people walking sometimes. But easy to dismiss otherwise perfect
