Location : beautiful scenic river views from the terrace and restaurant. Quiet, peaceful ambiance, direcly located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. Rooms: large and spacious, with big balcony. Good cleanliness, fresh and sealed towels every day. Breakfast: delicious with variety. Staff: accommodating, friendly and helpful. Transport: complimentary tuk-tuk service to the nearest train station/pier. Facilities: clean pool and gym.

Distance from City Center: less convenient for exploring BKK, since far away from the main city centers, shopping and nightlife areas as well as major public transport hubs (MRT/BTS). Hotel's Purpose: more suitable for conferences than for family vacations.

Very big rooms. Welcome drink. Excellent variety at the breakfast buffet, western and Thai (they even have blood soup!). Free tuk tuk rides to the MRT and ferry pier. Friendly staff. Relaxing riverside bar-restaurant.

Some negative changes from previous stays. The concierge desk is gone, which used to be a great info source/help service for everything Bangkok. No left luggage service beyond a day, so not a good base for island and upcountry trips (we chose not to return because of this). The pool has been changed to an exercise-style pool: no loungers and swim-up bar anymore, and not a family-friendly space.

The staff spoke fairly good English there were no issues with language barriers. The hotel itself was very spacious with a large breakfast room where breakfast was self service. There is enough food for a western breakfast ie egg station, fruit, fruit juices, cereals, toast and jams, small cakes. There is also an outside restaurant overlooking the river with a good menu. The Royal River has very large common rooms - plenty of space. there is also a coffee/cake bar. Our room was large with a balcony overlooking the river - room 908. The hotel Tuk Tuk will take you FOC to the railway, and boat terminal. Highly recommend the Royal River Hotel. Taxi drivers in Bangkok don't like to use their meters they would rather negotiate a set fee ie 600 baht's from the airport to the Royal River. Haggle - but remember all taxis are cheaper than in the UK. The hotel will order taxi's for you.

Loved the free breakfast every morning and the staff where super helpful and friendly despite a bit of language barrier It’s relatively close to most places you want to go (30min) but keep in mind 30min is considered a long drive for a taxi outside of the ones you order at the hotel

The pillows are so high that it’s like trying to sleep with your head on a step Don’t think check in time was mentioned (could be wrong) but when we went to check in at 12 told us to come back at 2

Very quiet, clean and well organised place, good value for money especially if you don't want to stay somewhere crowded , not really a tourist spot, yet close to MRT station Sirindhorn, 20 minutes drive to any busy spot you looking for. Good selection of street food about 5 minutes walking distance. 7 eleven literally at the entrance of the hotel. Overall very nice no complaint.

No handsoap, you need to buy your own.

The balcony and the room size. The river view was nice and the gym is well equipped. Breakfast was acceptable with a variety to choose from.

The reception staff have no idea how to assist you and the breakfast staff is very unfriendly. The reception staff did not make us feel welcome. The tuk tuk driver was the best staff member at this hotel.

All staff were so kind. All house keepers and Morning breakfast staff, reception staff especially Pitrapa They were all so helpful well coming with great smile. We had a great holidays in Royal river hotel. We would definitely come back again. Beautiful view from the out side restaurant :)

It needs maintenance in swimming pool facility little bit. And the carpets on the upper floors need replacement.

The breakfast buffet was amazing. We couldn't believe how the quality and wide selection of food! The room was spacious and fun. We had the four bunkbed room, and it was perfect for our family.

There was no electric outlet in the bathroom.

Good sized room, clean and comfortable with a nice view of the bridge and river from my balcony. Easy to get a local river taxi from close by. Staff were friendly and helpful, and I was able to check in early although I arrived hours before the official time. Wide selection of tasty food for breakfast. Would happily recommend.

Minor issue of light just in the entrance of my room not working and although reported didn't get fixed, but not a real problem as I used the others instead.

Room with bunk beds. Very comfirtable ferry to get all attractions by river and free 3min took took from hotel. Free early check in. Clean swiming pool
