Comfortable bed, good shower, amazing balcony (deluxe room), air con worked. Owners upgraded me to the deluxe room, not sure why but it was great. Balcony was my favourite, views all over the skyline/city.

There weren’t much restaurants in the area, owners were helpful but the language barrier meant I wasn’t really sure where was good to eat. Didn’t feel as though I could eat anywhere locally as there were just stalls, no seating really. Was manageable though as I spent most of the time away from the hostel.

Good price, very good location, nice owner, I love the balcony, perfect for reading and talking with new friends.

I booked the dormitory. 14 beds. As you all know, you never know who you will share the room with. In this case I was unlucky. One guy was snoring. One guy was talking during sleep. Two guys kept on going out and back all through the night. The door could not be closed since the owner doesn't have 14 swipe cards. The actual bed was a bit hard - and this I like - but it made squeaky sounds every time I moved.

I had a private room located on the upper floor with a direct access to a shared rooftop lounge zone. It was clean and comfortable for me. The check-in zone looked pretty scare with owners living right in that lobby, but i was travelling single this time and it was OK for me. Streets outside are not shiny luxury boulevards - there is a poor life around, with a real local cheap (but tasty) street food.

Great place to stay in Bangkok. 15min walk to metro and train station Hua Lamphong, Chinatown nearly. Lots of places to places to eat. This is a great place for people who want a budget travel. Room had access to massive balcony,where you can rest and eat. Washing machine and tumble dryer provided. For people who like walking, takes1.5h to get to the Grand Palace or Wat Arun.

From Don Mueang Airport you can get here for just 5 Baht. You take the old train from airport to Hua Lampong station, and the hostel is just a 4 minute walk from there. From Hua Lamphong Station you can take the underground Metro to Si Lom and Sukhumvit and arrive in minutes. You can walk from hostel to river and get a 5 baht boat across the river to arrive at Icon Siam mall in 25 minutes. The hostel is truly awesome. The owners warm and friendly. A roof garden on roof. Rooms super cosy and very quiet at night.

The location is great- only a 10 minute walk from Hua Lumphong station. It's on a quiet street, plenty of restaurants and a 7-eleven nearby. The room was a decent size and very clean (as was the bathroom), with great AC. I like that there's a small kitchen available to use, with a hot/cold drinking water dispenser. They also have a washer and dryer to use for 40 baht each. I really like the upstairs terrace - it's a nice sitting area to relax. The family who runs it is pleasant.

The bed was very firm, which isn't a positive or negative, just a personal preference.

Great value. Good location about 10-15 minutes to either the blue line subway or the ferry. We liked the little neighborhood with all the street vendors and activity. The rooftop made for good viewing. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The common space was cleaned daily. Handy having shared kitchen and access to laundry machines (for a reasonable charge). Room was quiet at night.

Common area is a bit jumbled. In general, the decor is certainly not high-end like the Ritz Carlton but for the price the place is quite nice.

Calm area, functional air-conditioning. Good location.

No fridge in the private room. It's getting really hot when you don't use the AC. (which means when you are out as well) We stayed 5 nights and they didn't even ask us to clean the room once. Hard mattress, but not the worst that someone can find.

What I like most about Urban Hostel Bangkok is the couple who owned and managed it. They are elderly couple but they are the best host. They gave suggestions where to go in Bangkok. They are so accomodating and kind. They even gave us some charms and fruits which made us so touched. We will come back foe sure.

Since it's family owned facility, it has no elevator, but it's okay for us.

Location is very near to the city center and china town. It is 10 minutes walking distance to Hua Lamphong station. The surrounding has lot of street vendors. Owners are friendly. AC is very good for hot weather in Bangkok

The building is old and the bed is a little not comfortable. But, there is no staff who will help with us with luggages. So, we have to carry by ourselves from 3rd floor.
