It was basically a b and b.No bar or snacks in the hotel building. No kitchen so breakfast has to be ordered the night before.Would have preferred a conventional buffet with choice of cooked breakfast from a kitchen. Despite that would love to stay there again. I noticed in other reviews people complained about the noise of aircraft taking off from the airport.We soon got used to it and think it would apply in many parts of the city as the airport is central. Not a problem at night

Beautiful property with immaculate, comfortable & quiet rooms and comfortable beds. Gorgeous pool, nice onsite coffee shop. Nice breakfast included.

The policy for ordering breakfast the night before was a little funny, and it was also odd that we booked 2 rooms for our family of 3 but only 2 breakfasts were included. Would have appreciated a bit more timing flexibility with breakfast (serve till 11 for jet lagged guests). The location is beautiful, but it is a solid 20 min taxi ride into the Tapae Gate/old city area, so it's nice if you're looking for a quiet getaway but not great if you want to be able to easily access town. Would have been nice to have had luggage racks in the room.

Great atmosphere in the whole compound, you can simply enjoy the place by walking around their garden, or chilling at their in house coffee shop or have lunch or dinner at Italian restaurant, Sipole. The owners live in the compound and make sure everything is crisp and clean. They use good quality furnitures and fixtures you feel as if you live in your own house. My room on 1st floor is huge with big bathroom so so comfortable. Breakfast is ordered a la carte and outsourced, some are hit and miss, but great variety there. You also get voucher for 1 cup of coffee/drink per day from their coffee shop. Will definitely come back!

Maybe the pillow can be more comfortable but I'm just being very picky here!

I enjoyed a really comfortable stay in this chic hotel. The decor is light colours, so feels cool and airy. There are places to sit outside, and a fantastic coffee & cake shop in the grounds. Breakfast was huge and freshly cooked to order, with fresh fruits, yoghurt etc. on the side. The staff are lovely too:)

Merchant villa has all clean rooms and home cozy atmosphere. The garden and pool are amazing. You can find Chef Dan, one of the best Italian food in CM in the same area of the hotel. Breakfast at the hotel is marvelous and free coffee from Coffee and me. The best part is Merchant villa's staff: all the best Definitely I will stay here again and again

I like it all. it'a just perfect here. I highly recommend this facility to everyone coming to Chiang Mai. value for money. all excellent here.

The staff was super helpful and friendly. They helped us with different requests through the time we were there. The hotel has a great pool and they have in-room massage which is great after a long day of outdoor activities. We enjoyed the stay so much, will definitely return for another stay.

Quietness, privacy, beautiful surroundings and delicious Italian restaurant within the compound.

Breakfast could be more buffet time, than pre-ordered from the set menu. Having said that, food was delicious, it’s just limited options to select from if you are an overseas guest

Delightful. The hotel suited us perfectly: a secluded place with a beautiful park area, with amazing gourmet food in an Italian restaurant for lunch and dinner, a separate cafe, nice smiling staff ready to help at any time. 100-150 baht on Grab taxi, and you are already in the city center. Gorgeous clean well-maintained rooms, snow-white linens. Breakfasts: look at this volume. We were also delighted with another bonus: the new gym. Thank you all!

The Merchant Villa Chiang Mai has the friendliest and most helpful staff. They really take excellent care of you and go out of their way to make you feel welcome and special. The food was great, the room was amazing, and we everything was squeaky clean. Also there: the most amazing orchids you have ever seen. Best value for your money, lovely place!
