Good facilities Tea & Coffee

The hubby is a bit rude I was smoking in balcony and he was pissed. So I asked him to give me a room with a smoking balcony. He did. I extended 4 days, gave good business for good and Coffee and my friend purchased a flute Worth 1500 bhat. We ordered coffees and however this time he didn’t allow us smoke even outside where it is a smoking area with ash trays as well saying neighbours complained. You need to defend your rights and your guests. Not dance according to neighbors tunes. Bro tangmo, I gave you a business of over 3000 bhat in 4 days and still you treat me like this ? Come on man

An overall great place to stay as a solo traveller. The owners provide a homely atmosphere with the great music, the comfortable living area and the lovely plants outside. I love that the place is cleaned to a high standard and there are basic facilities to use like fridge, microwave, kettle and hairdryer. They also serve food, coffee and scooter rental at a really good price! There is another area upstairs by the kitchen to work or eat food which is a nice touch. Good location too - not too far from the old city but closer to mountainous areas! Also you have maya mall which is about a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk from the hostel. I’ll be coming back soon!

Tangmo House is a very welcoming environment. The beds are comfortable and the lockers are a good big size. Bathrooms were clean with shower gel and shampoo provided. There are spaces to sit outside of the rooms and downstairs if you want to eat, work, read or socialise. Palin and Anne are so kind and accommodating. I rented a scooter which was in great condition and was 250 Baht per day.

You can hear some street noise in the dorm room but not enough to keep me awake. If you are a light sleeper you should bring ear plugs.

My favourite hostel in Thailand! Tangmo house is a guesthouse with charm, and a warm, homely feel. It’s in a great location- outside of the Old City but in walking distance to anything you need, and a big plus for the food options. The owners are really interesting people to talk to and they truly go the extra mile for all their guests. Everything was clean, beds were comfortable and free tea/coffee for the morning. I would recommend to anyone coming to Chiang Mai and will definitely be back in the near future :)

Very cheap. Great location. Fantastic owners. There are so many things to like about this accommodation, but the owners really take the cake for me. A convenient location to temples and markets, all while being off the main road to allow for a quieter experience. They also have a great little balcony that is a good place for some people watching and chilling out.

My only quarrel is that the curtains on the beds don't all close up, so you don't have complete privacy while in bed. Otherwise a fantastic property for those trying to get away from the party scene.

After three months of traveling, I’ve finally found a place that feels like home – the Tangmo Hostel. The two hosts are incredibly kind, welcoming, and go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The hostel is perfectly located, spotlessly clean, and has plenty of showers. The beds are super comfortable, and the overall atmosphere makes you feel genuinely cared for. To top it off, you can rent bikes or scooters directly at the hostel, making it even more convenient. I wholeheartedly recommend staying here – you won’t regret it!

One of the best hostels I've ever stayed at! Incredibly clean, amazing staff (it's managed by a husband and wife only), social vibe with a lot of space to do your own thing as well, and comfortable beds and rooms. I also like the location as it's a bit outside of the center while still having a lot of great options around, so it has more of a local vibe. And you can get to the old town in a few minutes by bike (which you can rent for very cheap at the hostel). Felt right at home, will definitely come back next time I'm in Chiang Mai!

I recently stayed at a hostel that truly deserves a 10/10 rating across the board. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by how clean and well-maintained the facilities were. The rooms were spotless, with crisp bedding and an overall fresh atmosphere. Small potted plants were thoughtfully placed throughout the common areas, adding a cozy and homely vibe to the space.What stood out the most was the hospitality of the owners. They were incredibly humble and welcoming, always ready to assist with a genuine smile. Their warmth made the stay feel personal, and they went above and beyond to ensure guests were comfortable.The common areas were also well-equipped and cozy, creating the perfect environment to meet fellow travelers. Overall, this hostel is a hidden gem that balances cleanliness, hospitality, and comfort perfectly. Also this hostel is only 15 minutes away from airport and almost you will get everything nearby like seven11 and cafe located in a busy area of Chiang mai . Highly recommended!

It's a 10 !! Most amazing people you can find at an homestay! Tangmo ownres are so so nice and is like they are your Thai parents. They will help you for everything you need ! The dorms and the facilities are very clean and the common space are good. The hostel is located in a part of chiang mai where local people live wtih a lot of local restaurants and it' just 15 minutes walking from the ancient city walls! I had a great time and I highly suggest this stay in chiang mai !!
