Listen to the wild birds while looking at the adjacent mountains, or eat the best green curry or pad thai from Patty’s kitchen (the host has a home restaurant directly in the resort and her cooking skills are simply incredible). The location is super quiet, extremely clean and very well maintained. The hosts are absolutely amazing, a local lady (Patty) and her husband originally from Holland (Tony). They will do anything to make your stay a wonderful and unforgettable one. We spent 4 days here and are seriously considering coming back in the years to come! A+++ Also, make sure to rent a scooter bike on site and drive around the country roads. It’s been one of the best experiences I’ve had while traveling, period.

Nothing! Because the location is a bit outside the city (which is truly a great thing for quiet and peace), we had a bit of a hard time finding taxis with the Grab app, but no problem with Bolt.

Homestay Chiangrai was a tranquil oasis after a long journey, with a very warm welcome and delicious dinner provided by Phaety and her staff. The garden is lush and pretty, with a lovely pool to relax in and gorgeous cats to admire. The 2 bedroom apartment was very spacious and comfortable for a family of 4 - and far bigger than the pictures portray. We all slept soundly on comfy beds for our 3 night stay and the two bathrooms (like the rest of the property) were immaculately clean. The breakfasts were tasty and filling and, with a local car rental delivered to the property, we were able to explore Chiang Rai city and further into the province with ease. We loved our stay and didn’t want to leave! Thank you to Phaety & all who work at the Homestay. Very highly recommended.

Phaet and her husband Tony, the owners made us feel extremely welcome as soon as we arrived. Phaet arranged a driver to come pick us up from Chaing mai airport which made it easier for us. The room ( deluxe bungalow)was very spacious and clean, and the bed was super comfy. We didn't have breakfast but we ate dinner there a few times and every time it was delicious. About 15 mins outside of the centre of Chaing Rai, but that wasn't a problem for us as we hired a scooter from Phaet, we much preferred the tranquil settings that surrounded us to the city centre. Overall a wonderful stay and definitely recommend as we will be back to explore the surrounding mountains.

The view from the top room is exceptional. Perfect spot to watch sunset. A beautiful home and garden. The food cooked by the owner is absolutely delicious, although rather expensive.

We were confident that the owners would help us arrange our slowboat to Luang Prabang as previous reviews indicated they were very helpful. However, we ended up feeling uncomfortable asking for advice as the owner acted rather confused that we were asking for her assistance. Although maps indicates there are restaurants nearby the majority of them don’t exist. You either eat at the homestay or get an uber into the centre of Chiang Rai for every meal. Don’t close the balcony door if you are sat outside as the lock drops in by itself!

The bed was very good, and the bathroom, although quite basic, worked well. The reception area was also the restaurant area, functional and reasonably comfortable, good for meeting other travellers. The hotel is located 15-20 mins from the centre of Chang Rai, just off a main highway. Overall the area is fine for visiting sites outside the centre. The main host is very kind and friendly, she's available to serve breakfast as well as dinner, which is a good as there are not too many options in the area. The meals we had were pretty good.

I even had the chance to share a delicious homemade meal with them—one of the best I had during my trip! Waking up to the sounds of nature, enjoying breakfast on the veranda, and watching the sunset over the rice fields—these are moments I’ll never forget. Whether you're a solo traveler, a couple, or a family, Homestay Chiang Rai offers something special: peace, authenticity, and heartfelt hospitality. I can’t recommend this place enough. If you're visiting Chiang Rai, do yourself a favor and stay here—you’ll leave with beautiful memories and a longing to return.

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Homestay Chiang Rai! I stayed here for two nights, and everything exceeded my expectations. The rooms are incredibly clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The hosts are amazing – super friendly, attentive to every detail, and always ready to help with anything we needed, including great recommendations for places to visit. The location is perfect – peaceful yet conveniently close to the main attractions in Chiang Rai. The breakfast was delicious, made with fresh ingredients, and served in a way that made me feel right at home. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic, relaxing, and memorable stay in Chiang Rai! I will definitely return.

The main host Phaety was so friendly and professional from the moment we entered! The venue is beautifully planted and it’s a little gem of a haven off the main road to the airport. Perfect for relaxing after a long day. The food we had for lunch was delicious home cooked Thai food. The best pad Thai I had in Thailand. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. It was only a very short stay but we felt very relaxed and recharged by the place.

The only negative was the breakfast we organised to take to the airport. Understandably we needed to arrange it for very early and it was outside of breakfast times (6am) However the lady from the kitchen was visibly very put out and disgruntled by our request and this reflected in the tasteless and basic breakfast that was prepared the following morning. That’s the only negative after a lovely brief stay.

A beautiful oasis slightly out of town, would highly recommend! The grounds are beautifully kept, the rooms are very clean and comfortable. If you don’t eat on site and don’t need a scooter this is a great place!

Our only complaint is the prices of the food and drinks weren’t great. Too expensive, well above standard prices. Also the scooter rental, was terrible. (Blown out rear shock, bad breaks, low break fluid, wheel bearings work out and broken clasps on helmets - overall should not be rented out to anyone)

It is a gorgeous family home just a little out of the main city. Just far enough to be peaceful and close enough to be easily accessed. Betty and Tony are the most lovely couple and owners. So helpful with anything you need, planning your days, booking day trips, hiring cars or drawing you maps of exciting routes to take. Then when you return home, you have a gorgeous garden and pool to relax around. I can’t recommend this property enough, it will make your holiday in Chiang Rai perfect. Thank you Betty and Tony X
