We had the most amazing time staying at Better view, we extended for a night but wish we could have stayed for much longer. The room was incredible with so much attention, we loved the shower and the bed was so comfy. Breakfast was delicious and we ate at the restaurant a few times which we would highly recommend it was amazing and better prices than other places around the island. We organised a boat trip through the hotel which was the standout to our trip!! We rented a bike as well which was easy and very useful. The attention to detail at this hotel is better than anywhere we have stayed and has been our favourite place on our trip! A very special thank you to Jerome, Dean, and every single staff member who made our stay so memorable (we didn’t get everyone’s names but a huge thank you to everyone) We would love to come back :))

Me and a friend of mine, we booked two bungalows at the beginning of April and stayed for 4 nights in this beautiful place. The resort includes a maximum of 12 bungalows (if I counted correctly), a very quiet environment aimed at total relaxation. The rooms are very well furnished with every comfort, and the hot tub with a view is a significant plus. The swimming pool in the centre of the resort is comfortable and beautiful, and includes many other small entertainment options for those who go with their families, such as a small football pitch, archery, rackets and an area for playing badminton. Friendly, kind and always available staff to help you with any of your needs. But in my opinion one of the strong points of the resort is the owner himself...an exquisite person, very kind and easy-going. He organized a beautiful day tour for us among some of the major islands nearby with a private boat... totally worthed. You can also rent motorbikes directly at the reception, all without any difficulty or problems. I highly recommend this place for couples and young families who want to explore an island dedicated to relaxation. I will definitely come back here in the future, with my family or other friends.

Absolutely wonderful hotel! To start, it absolutely lives up to the name-the hotel has the best view on the island. Under new management as of December ‘24, looking at previous reviews, it seems there have already been a lot of positive improvements-new landscaping, upgraded pool furniture, fencing, etc. and it seems there is even more to come, upgrading an already terrific spot. Every bungalow has a view, as well as the pool. There are covered tables to have a drink and a great cafe right next store as well as several dinner options within a 5-10 min walk, and small market. There are motos and bicycles for rent, and the staff are happy to help accommodate/book a taxi. The rooms are lovely, with a very large bathroom and shower area! Jerome and his team are great-very accommodating and helpful! Highly recommend Betterview if you are thinking about a trip to Koh Yao Yai!

Some bugs in the room, but you're on a relatively remote island - thats to be expected! Would be great to have breakfast on-site.

Perfect stay! The owner Jerome makes sure that every guest is taken care off and has the best experience. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and had everything we needed. The food at the restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced. I really appreciated the option for the french breakfast with real butter! And the view can't be beat - whether that's from the restaurant, the room or the pool. A real gem and I will recommend this place to all those who come to the island :)

Fantastic place to stay, was relatively quiet which is definitely a plus after visiting Bangkok and Phukket. The bungalows are really beautiful, huge bathrooms with jaccuzi baths and all necessities in the room. Big pool, close-by hotel bar and several activities to enjoy during our stay. Several nice restaurant within 10 minute walking distance and very friendly staff supporting us getting to and from the hotel to the nearest boat pier. Overall a great experience to stay Better View

Be mindful of insects on the island and at the hotel, they do provide anti-mosquito spray and scents

A highly skilled and experienced French gentleman named Jerome has recently taken charge of this establishment. He has begun implementing thorough changes that are enhancing both the rooms and the resort as a whole. I am confident that it will soon transform into a remarkable destination resort! During our visit in December '24, there was no restaurant available, but one is planned. There were lovely restaurants very nearby. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Better View and would highly recommend it.

The room was beautiful with the most comfortable bed we had in Thailand, the bathroom had big jacuzzi. The swimming pools is amazing right in front of the ocean and most important, the staff was super helpful and nice helped us with everything we needed. The resort is located at the best location of the island, isolated but has some restaurants and supermarket nearby. The best value for money!! We will defenetly come back.

The room we stayed in was absolutely beautiful, extremely comfy beds and very clean! Our best night sleep in Thailand! Room had a walk in shower, dressing room and jacuzzi bath. The staff were all so friendly and helped us book transfers to and from. Pool was very lovely and the place looked stunning at night with all the lovely lights. Right on the beach!

We asked for the newer type bungalow. I really liked the jacuzzi bath (with a view), nice, clean pool for a dip at the end of the day, quiet, spacious bungalow and friendly staff who helped arrange boat transfers, trip to Phang Nga bay, scooter rental etc.

I did not like the older type bungalow much (hence we asked to change and the hotel accommodated us :)

We had a great stay at Betterview. It is very relaxing. We loved our bungalow and the pool is good as well. After dark, we watched the fruit bats in the palm trees. The breakfast options were limited during our stay, but the people were super friendly. There are multiple lunch/ dinner options in walking distance.We rented bicycles to get around the island, though most people use scooters. During low tide the sea retreats, so we went to different beaches on the Island (Lo Paret). They were quiet as is Koa Yao Yai in general. If you want to party you need to go elsewhere. However, we liked the calm and restraint and had a nice time.
