We love the Slate so much. This is our third time staying there, and we absolutely love Nai Yang beach. Everything is perfect. We will be back next year no doubt.

Booking.com had a restriction that once I booked, I couldn't modify my reservation without canceling the entire trip. A few days after booking—several months before our arrival—I noticed that I had mistakenly booked to arrive a day early. As a result, I ended up paying for a night's accommodation when we hadn’t yet arrived in Thailand. Neither Booking.com nor the hotel allowed me to cancel the extra night without canceling the entire four-night booking, which was non-refundable. Given that we were charged for a night we didn’t stay, the very least the hotel could have done was offer us a complimentary airport transfer. However, that didn’t happen, and we were still charged a couple of hundred Baht for the transfer.

Incredible rooms. Beautiful design throughout. My room was enormous! Laughably big! Very helpful friendly staff. The food was amazing in the breakfast buffet. Great facilities for kids (pool and kids club). The whole place smells amazing. Would come back, without a doubt. Local area has quite a lot there. Close to airport. Poolside service very friendly and easy.

A few fittings in the room needed replacing (my shower in the room had bits that were hanging off). Area has a few seedy bars we avoided, but there's LOTS of choice for restaurants etc on the beach, supermarkets close by. Avoid buying anything extra in hotel until you've popped out through the garden exit and been to some of the shops and restaurants on the beach.

Restaurants where great, grounds and pools fantastic. Being right on the beach with many small shops and restaurants run by locals outside of the resort gave lots of choice. The resort is next to a national park with plenty of walking tracks which is nice for active guests.

Gym was adequate but could have had more equipment for a large resort. Resort was about 45 mins drive to old town Phuket which is worth a day trip and night out which we did once, but it may be an issue if you wanted to spend a lot of time shopping and going out at night. We spent 5 days mostly at the resort and beach which was exactly what we wanted.

The hotel is an absolute “experience”. Very nuanced and bespoke. Having stayed in multiple 5* hotels from resorts to boutiques around the world, The Slate meets all the default criteria (great breakfast, clean, wonderful staff and luxurious)… but there are extra aspects at The Slate which make this hotel exceptional, different and unique. The “slate”, “raw” theme is beautifully set in lush green surroundings. During our stay it was cloudy and rainy and it ended up being perfect for the theme of this place. The pools are divine and picturesque. The room showers were particularly interesting and very inviting!

Nothing… it really is effortlessly nice.

Arrived in Phuket with little notice after our flight experienced major delays. We booked the slate 5 hours before arriving and so glad we did. I didn’t want to leave . The location , the food , the staff and decor are all utterly beautiful and the service is fabulous. The staff went over and above to make us welcome. We travelled with a teenager who was able to have safe independence at the small beach village and our daughter of 3 loved it. Beautiful resort and can’t wait to come back

The beach is a public beach and really needs a bit of a clean up. This has no reflection on the hotel or staff but other beaches around Phuket are cleaner . Saying that we have since traveled down to kata. The beach is gorgeous but the service is nothing like the staff of the slate. I would pick the slate any day of the week

We travel extensively and often stay in hotels, both for work and leisure and I can say that there are not many hotels that compare to The Slate. All the staff were great and special mention to Khun Nui from housekeeping who looked after our room like a mother :). Location is stunning and there are two gates at the back of the property leading on to the beautiful Nai Yang Beach. The resort itself is lovely, set in a mature immaculate tropical garden and has 3 swimming pools, the biggest is for families and the other 2 swimming pools are for adults/14 year old and above. We spent every evening at the family pool as the sun went down and it was a beautiful time. Our 7 year old daughter loved the kids club and was there most days. The food at all locations in The Slate and breakfast was very tasty and enjoyable. My wife and I also visited the Coqoon Spa at The Slate and had a beautiful 2 hour treatment and massage and went again for the Healing Sound Therapy session, which again was amazing. We had a very early checkout and were provided with a very good take away breakfast boxes which had ample food, fruits and drinks & even hot coffee and hot chocolate. Well done to The Slate - you helped us make some amazing memories. We will be back early next year:)

It was all excellent.

Fantastic location, 5 minutes from airport but walk out the back gate and you are right on the beach amid a beautiful and quiet seaside village that has everything you could possibly need. Grounds are huge and amazing and plenty of wonderful pool areas and on sight restaurants. All of the staff were fantastic.

We had a private pool villa, not that private with low fence at rear with gardeners walking by at any time of the day, also pool cleaner would come in unannounced to clean pool. Private pool and rear yard was always in shade with cover over pool and extended verandah for privacy from upper floors so not good for sunbaking.

All of it, the staff at the restaurant and spa facilities, were amazing and friendly without being intrusive. The breakfast was delicious with a very good range, the spa facilities were perfect. The pools were great, as was our room. The parklike facilities and naturalness of the surrounds were exactly what we were looking for. Fon escorted us on the morning monk walk, and we enjoyed learning everything we could from her. She and our driver made this experience for us an absolute pleasure and very comfortable - thank you.

The things we found only slightly annoying were: 1. every time we tried to go to the bar and have a drink/play a game of snooker, it was full of little kids taking up the tables and never seeming to move on. 2. Neighbouring villas dragging chairs on the concrete floor is like screeching nails on blackboard, the heavy doors, when slammed vibrate through the villa.

Absolutely loved bedding and bath towels, they felt so soft and luxurious. Alsp we liked the fact that the territory of the hotel is turned into a green garden, , contrary to many moderns hotels which build in as many new units on their territory not leaving land for greenery. Sea and the beach are very close, just a few steps from a back gate. Breakfasts and food served were of good quality. Staff are pofessional and efficient. We liked each minute we spent in the hotel.

-Quality of sea water, even I realise it is not a hotel's responsibility. Even there were not big waves, the sea water was murky. Not sure if it is a seasonal or not, we were there in August. In addition, there was plastic rubbish in the water and on the beach, even I believe the beach is cleaned daily. Sadly, plastic pollution is very common around Phuket nowdays. -A lot of mosquitoes at evenings, however the hotel supplies at-mosquitoes stuff. - The funny fans at outdoor sitting area in our suit. They look like giant round fans. I realise they are a part of the hotel industrial designer consept, but they are not effective at all. An ordinary modern electric fan would be more effective.
