Glad I booked this hotel! From the initial, professional and friendly meeting/hotel orientation/greeting with delicious tea, to the nice room and comfortable bed and good-sized bathroom, to the wonderful fresh breakfast up on the charming terrace with those fantastic views (something to really look forward to!!), the friendly staff, a clean and quiet environment, period architectural integrity and details plus the traditional Ottoman/French decor that added to the historic feel of the hotel. Not to mention they offer (extra) a mini-sampler meal I believe until 10:30pm, which was perfect for me plus I ordered a glass of wine with it!...as I arrived later than planned after a delay at the airport plus I had a tiring long day arriving from another part of Türkiye and had no energy to go out. They also have great restaurant recommendations nearby of which one I went to during my stay and was delicious. As mentioned online, the location is close to the main sites by an easy walk, yet situated in a quiet neighborhood away from the many tourists. Shops and restaurants to explore nearby. I stayed here as a single tourist, and yet was able spend lots of time with my NY friends who were staying in another district of the Old City 15 minutes walk away. For my departure, I let them book my ride to IST airport (to catch flight for my next Türkiye destination). I stayed here four nights.

The location for this hotel is fantastic for exploring the historical centre of Istanbul. The staff are very helpful and an apple tea on arrival is very welcome. The breakfast is absolutely delicious - the choice is great, with variations daily and the scrambled egg is the best I have ever eaten in a hotel. The rooms are comfortable and compact and the WiFi signal good. The restaurants nearby are expensive compared with eating on the Asian side, and the nearer you are the the Blue Mosque the higher the price. We were given a very good recommendation by the staff for a place with great food nearby. We would really recommend staying here and it is great value for money

Charming small hotel so close to all the big attractions, very cosy and comfortable. As other reviews mention, the breakfast is amazing - the food suited us so well- it’s all handmade, fresh, healthy and delicious. Breakfast is served on a terrace where you can look out on the Marmara sea and watch all the ships go in and out. Staff were wonderful- I truly felt that if I had any problems they would do everything they could to fix it. If you like old fashioned, personal service and a small, boutique hotel, this is a perfect option.

Nothing. It was exactly what I was looking for.

Starting with the manager Ozan and continuing with front desk team and those who managed the daily breakfast, the staff at Dersaadet was excellent - very friendly and professional; always willing to help. Conveniently located in easy walking distance to the Blue Mosque and many other important sites, this historic hotel met most of our expectations. The basic Turkish breakfast provided a good start to each day with a 5th floor view of the sea. Due to space limitations in this classic building, our room and bathroom were somewhat small. However, we found no significant issues and enjoyed surprisingly quiet nights in the comfortable bed. There is a lift which provides easy access to most rooms, and the Wi-Fi was strong and reliable. We enjoyed our stay at Dersaadet Hotel.

As mentioned above, the room was somewhat 'tight' for 2 people moving around with luggage, and the shower was quite small. The furniture was a bit dated, but we feel this was in line with the historic nature of the building. We feel these things were minor compared to all the positive features of the hotel.

I really loved the staff - they were so kind and warm - they just really looked after us in all sorts of little ways - an especial shout out to Ilhan Murat Gunter and the cleaning ladies (I apologise for not remembering your names) - the decor was stunning in a traditional ottoman style with crafted interiors - the rooftop breakfast with views over the Bosphorus was stunning - with a great choice of healthy and naughty food - location was terrific - close to the blue mosque and Topkapi palace

The staff were amazing and proactive about checking all was well which made me feel really welcome. Nima on the front desk was always so helpful and welcoming and Gürhan in the top floor breakfast room so kind and attentive - I really enjoyed the daily coffees he prepared! Ilhan too saw me off to my taxi with a cheerful wave. I had a sea view room with comfortable bed and good quality bed linen. It was a relaxing space and I enjoyed coming back to rest and read for a couple of hours after a day of sightseeing before heading out for dinner. The room had good lighting including overhead reading lights and such a lovely view. The breakfasts were delicious and quite varied - the salads were great, also scrambled eggs (menemen one morning), fresh bread, a variety of jams (including rose and cherry). Lovely food with a great view!

There was nothing I didn’t like.

Second visit to Dersaadet. Excellent location. Clean and comfortable. Walking distance to Hippodrome, Mosques, public transportation, and restaurants. Excellent breakfast in view of Blue Mosque. Multiple Turkish food items at breakfast buffet. Outstanding staff, desk, housekeeping, breakfast staff. Warm and welcoming. Staff really makes for a positive stay. Always helpful.

No negatives to report

The hotel is good and location is very good. The hotel furnishings are older but quite nice. The room was OK. Included breakfast buffet was very good. The staff were very helpful. The biggest disappointment was the rooftop - it didn't really have a good view of the Blue Mosque; you could partially see it from one corner of the terrace so not quite what we expected.

Decor could use a bit of a facelift - the curtains in our room had a rip and the wallpaper was separating; however the older Turkish vibe was nice.

A lavish selection of items available for breakfast. The location was incredible. Just a 10 minute walk to a street with several great restaurants rated highly be Michelin and Gault et Millau, and Fine Dine, a grand hotel top floor restaurant with a spectacular view of the mosques and palaces of the city. It is an easy walk to almost all of Trip Advisors top 10 attractions in Istanbul.

The rooms are a little small. But there's a very sweet lounge in the reception area.

Second visit after 15 years, good quality and hospitality (every staff, kind, helpful and knowledgeable) of the hotel is the same or better! Breakfast at the roomtop area with the sea view, and well prepared and very tasty Turkish style breakfast.

Located in the top tourist area, the access from the hotel to the tram station is always full of cars, isn't easy to walk.
