We spent 3 nights at the Katelya Hotel and we were very happy with our stay. The hotel has an amazingly central location in Istanbul with walking distance to many of the most famous attractions like the Grand Bazaar. The hotel is small and cute with a relaxing atmosphere and we were very satisfied with our room also. The people working at the hotel were super friendly and helpful, and they took care of transportation for us to get to the hotel from the Istanbul airport, and also when we had to go back to the airport on the last day. They also helped us with taking care of cleaning our laundry. The hotel breakfast was very good and the people taking care of breakfast made fresh omelettes for us every morning, which we very much appreciated. We would most definitely stay here again on our next trip to Istanbul.

My stay was wonderful, and the room was comfortable and clean. However, what truly made the difference for me was the exceptional hospitality of the hotel staff. Everyone was so friendly, helpful, and eager to assist in any way they could. The feeling of being welcomed and knowing that the staff was always there to meet my needs made the experience even more special. I will definitely return and recommend Katelya Hotel to friends and family, as the quality of the people working there truly makes a difference. We chose this hotel based on the reviews we'd read and we must say that our stay at Katelya for 5 nights was the best we've ever had -and we travel quite a lot-. The location is excellent, a 5 min walk from the historic centre Sultanahmet and the tram station. It's a really safe area even after midnight. The hotel terrace has a million dollar view, one can see the Bosporus and listen to the seagulls. The hotel is a boutique one, very well maintained, tastefully decorated in a luxurious way and exceptionally clean. Our room ( 1st floor - sea view) was cleaned on a daily basis, large bottle of water refreshed, all towels and bathmat changed -even our shoes were placed in a neat order!-. The room itself is beautiful. All the pictures of Booking are correct, what you see is what you -thankfully- get. The receptionists ( Ferhat, the charming blonde girl whose name I cannot recall et.al) were all very kind, they honestly cared. As far as breakfast is concerned, it had everything, a combination of Turkish and Continental breakfast plus apart from boiled and scrambled eggs there was also omelette service upon request, big bonus for the egg lovers. Everything was homemade and delicious, with small daily twists which was appreciated since we stayed for almost a week. We booked a Turkish Hamam via the reception and that also included a pick up/drop off from the hotel. A must have experience! We also booked a taxi through the hotel to get us to the airport, it was totally worth it and was not expensive either. We give this hotel a solid 5 star - they will definitely be seeing more of us in the future!

We loved the staff and the rooms. Everything was very clean, and although the room was small, it was cozy and comfortable. This is a charming boutique hotel with a lovely rooftop terrace — it would have been even nicer if there were a bar up there. The breakfast was amazing; it might seem small at first glance, but there were plenty of choices, and the selection changed slightly each day. Compliments to the kitchen staff for being quick and efficient, and to the reception for always providing everything we needed. They even kept a parking spot for us when we took the car out for the day, which was greatly appreciated.

The room was a bit small, with limited space to move around, and just enough room to open our luggage.

The Katelya Hotel is really nice and very clean, with an exceptionally friendly staff. Yasin and the rest of the team made our stay wonderful. Our room was spotless, tastefully furnished, and equipped with everything we needed. Housekeeping came every day. The rooftop terrace is simply amazing, offering stunning views. The breakfast is also very good. One of the best things about this hotel is that you can easily reach it by car without having to navigate narrow streets, and there’s convenient street parking available. Although it’s just a few minutes’ walk from Sultanahmet and the Blue Mosque, it’s well connected to a main road, so you don’t get stuck in local traffic.

Wonderful Stay in the Heart of Sultanahmet – Highly Recommended! We stayed for 4 nights in July 2025 (2 rooms) and thoroughly enjoyed our experience at this hotel. Everything exceeded our expectations. Staff: The hospitality was exceptional. Yasin and Younus at the reception were incredibly helpful and welcoming, and the manager, Malik, was extremely cooperative and attentive throughout our stay. Rooms: The rooms were spotless, well-maintained, and the beds were very comfortable. One of our rooms even had a lovely partial sea view, which was a pleasant surprise. Location: Perfect location – just a short walk (a couple of hundred yards) from the Blue Mosque and close to all the major tourist attractions. The proximity to the sea added to the charm. Rooftop: The rooftop terrace was a real highlight – beautifully maintained with stunning views over the sea. A perfect place to unwind after a day of sightseeing. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Istanbul.

The space of the bedroom for my family of 5.tge heater functioning well in winter time.they give us an apartment n is so huge.its a 1st floor without an elevator but the lady owner send a bellboy for us to bring all our luggages upstairs.we soooo appriciated with their concerned n kindness.they also reserved a parking for our car just immediately we arrived and keep contacting us when we will arrived to their place so they cab provided everything that we need.im so happy n thankful for their responsive.the buffet is so good,the chef and staff in kitchen prepared us fresh omellet even we are late for our lunch.if u need the peaceful environment,the coziness and cleanliness of the room,the perfect area which is nearest to sultanahmet,u should book this hotel.everythins if perfecttt!!

We had a very good experience at Katelya Hotel. The location is excellent - just a 5 to 10 minute walk (if that) from the Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar, and many other major sights. That convenience alone makes it a fantastic base for exploring Istanbul. Breakfast was very good, and the hotel overall was exceptionally clean. We stayed in one of the family suites located across the road from the main building. Our suite was compact but comfortable, and the kitchen and fridge were especially useful during our stay. While the furnishings showed some signs of wear and age, everything was clean and in reasonably good working order. The staff were friendly, kind, and helpful throughout our visit. Overall, the hotel offers excellent value for money, and we would happily recommend it to others.

The suite is located in a shared building that includes both hotel and non-hotel units, and it backs onto what seems to be a restaurant or similar establishment, with a window offering some visibility between the spaces. We were a little surprised to see people on the other side when we first moved the curtain, but it didn’t cause any real issues. There was some foot traffic throughout the day and night, which added a bit of background noise. A simple bolt or latch on the inside of the door would have added some extra peace of mind in this respect. While our suite may not have been as polished as the rooms in the main hotel building, it was comfortable, well-equipped and represented very good value for the price.

Katelya Hotel is a small but charming hotel, ideally located within walking distance of Istanbul’s main tourist attractions. You can easily reach Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Basilica Cistern, Topkapi Palace, Gülhane Park, Sultanahmet Square, and many more. Even the Grand Bazaar is just a short walk away. Despite this central location, the hotel is situated in a surprisingly quiet and peaceful area, offering the perfect balance between accessibility and relaxation. For other attractions further away, public transportation is easily accessible — the tram stop is just a short walk from the hotel, making it very convenient to explore other parts of Istanbul as well. The staff is extremely kind and helpful, always ready to assist with tips, directions, or recommendations. We were warmly welcomed and pleasantly surprised to find a welcome letter in our rooms, along with a small charm meant to protect our personal belongings – a thoughtful and symbolic gesture that made us feel truly appreciated as guests. The rooms we stayed in (we were two couples) were very clean, comfortable, and pretty well-sized, with cozy beds and fully equipped bathrooms (including soap, shower gel, shampoo, towels). We had no noise disturbances, either from inside the hotel or from outside, and even enjoyed a partial sea view from our room. The hotel has an elevator, making it easy to reach the upper floors, and parking is available near the building if requested in advance – a helpful service arranged by the staff. Breakfast is served on level -1 and, although simple, it’s more than enough to keep you full and satisfied before heading out to explore the city. A lovely extra feature is the rooftop terrace, which is perfect for spending a quiet evening with beautiful views over this part of Istanbul. You can bring your own snacks or drinks and enjoy a peaceful moment above the city.

There’s really not much to complain about. However, reaching the hotel by car can be a bit difficult during peak traffic hours, especially between 3 and 5 PM, when the streets nearby can become quite congested. The area has narrow streets, so driving to the hotel might be a bit tricky if you're not familiar with the city, though it's manageable. If anything, the breakfast could include a few more options for variety. The rooms are not very large, but they are well-organized and comfortable. For travelers who come to Istanbul to explore its many attractions, the room size is more than sufficient for resting between sightseeing adventures. After all, you won’t be spending much time indoors when the city offers so much to discover.

1. We were greeted by Yasin, a wonderful and hospitable guy that immedietly opened a map and gave us an overview on istanbul, he took care of us so well thruout our stay. Maliq left us a very nice note with a lucky charm which i thought was nice. (THANK YOU YASIN AND KATELYA TEAM) 2. Hotel is cozy, the room was clean, the toilet bowl was a little weird but other than that it was great. 3.there is a terrace upstairs which was what pushed me to book this unit, the view is so amazing, we sometimes brought take out food up here to eat and it was great. It can be a little bit dirty but its because there are alot of birds flying over the terace and shitting everywhere but the hotel people seem to clean the terrace regularly. 4. Breakfast was AMAZING, simple with not a crazy amount of choice but delicious, they have a nice spread and the cook will come up to you and ask if you want freshly cooked eggs. 5. Location is great aswell, its about a 10 mins walk to hagia sofia and blue mosque, as well as the trem stop (all 3 are next to each other), and that trem stop can take u all d way to sirkeci to go to asian side, and even to galata side, aswell as grand bazaar area. 6. Its next to the frikking amazing seaview.

Toilet bowl bidet angle is kinda weird 😂 they should fix that. But not a big deal to be honest
